An Analysis of the RDF Authorization Conflict Problem by RIF Inference (RIF 추론에 의한 RDF 권한 충돌 문제 분석)

  • RIF(Rule Interchange Format)는 시맨틱 웹의 구조중 규칙 계층을 담당하며 기존에 사용되고 있는 여러 상이한 규칙 언어들 간의 호환을 위한 표준 규칙 언어라고 할 수 있다. RIF는 W3C에서 승인되었다. 시맨틱웹을 위한 표준 온톨로지 언어로는 RDF와 OWL이 있으며, 최근 RDF 데이터에 대한 접근제어 (Access Control) 메커니즘과 관련하여 일부 학술적 연구가 수행되었다. 본 논문에서는 RDF 데이터와 결합될 수 있는 RIF 추론 규칙에 대해 이미 제안한 RDF 접근제어 메커니즘을 확장하고자 한다. RDF 데이터에 대해 명세된 접근 권한은 RIF 추론에 의하여 권한 충돌이 발생할 수 있고, 그로 인해 접근 권한은 허용되지 않을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 어떤 조건에서 이러한 RIF 추론에 의한 권한 충돌이 발생하는 지를 분석하며, 이미 제안한 그래프 레이블링을 사용하는 충돌 발견 방법이 RIF 추론과 관련하여서도 효율적임을 보인다. 실험에서는 제안된 방법이, 비록 포함관계 추론에 특화 되었지만, Chase 알고리즘에 기반한 다른 연구에서의 방법보다 발견 시간을 크게 감소시킴을 보인다.

A Dynamic Service Supporting Model for Semantic Web-based Situation Awareness Service (시맨틱 웹 기반 상황인지 서비스를 위한 동적 서비스 제공 모델)

  • The technology of Semantic Web realizes the base technology for context-awareness that creates new services by dynamically and flexibly combining various resources (people, concepts, etc). According to the realization of ubiquitous computing technology, many researchers are currently working for the embodiment of web service. However, most studies of them bring about the only predefined results those are limited to the initial description by service designer. In this paper, we propose a new service supporting model to provide an automatic method for plan related tasks which achieve goal state from initial state. The inputs on an planner are intial and goal descriptions which are mapped to the current situation and to the user request respectively. The idea of the method is to infer context from world model by DL-based ontology reasoning using OWL domain ontology. The context guide services to be loaded into planner. Then, the planner searches and plans at least one service to satisfy the goal state from initial state. This is STRIPS-style backward planner, and combine OWL-S services based on AI planning theory that enabling reduced search scope of huge web-service space. Also, when feasible service do not find using pattern matching, we give user alternative services through DL-based semantic searching. The experimental result demonstrates a new possibility for realizing dynamic service modeler, compared to OWLS-XPlan, which has been known as an effective application for service composition.

Improving Business Usability of XBRL Based on Semantic Web Approach (시맨틱 웹을 이용한 XBRL의 비즈니스 활용성 개선)

  • It is crucially important to exchange and manage the financial information of an organization for the reason of complexity and diversity of information caused by its implicit information involved. Especially, according to the development of information technology, various approaches appeared to manage financial data of organization. For example, XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) is one of the technologies dealing with the above criteria. Basically, XBRL is a business reporting language to define and exchange financial information, such as a financial statement of organization. XBRL is an international standard which enables the exchange of information between information providers and consumers by adding the tags involving the information of circumstantial factors of data. However, XBRL is not able to describe semantics because XBRL is fundamentally based on XML(Extensible Markup Language) having the purpose of expressing and structuring data. Therefore, this paper aims to enable semantic information to XBRL through the semantic technology. The objective of this paper is an ontologization of the knowledge to perform sharing, reusing, discovering, and inferring the knowledge described and conducted by XBRL. In order to achieve the above objective, this paper suggests the methodology for the ontologization of the category and instance document of XBRL. Furthermore, this paper points out the possibility of suggested methodology in a practical business through indicating the advantages of the knowledge described by XBRL.

A Semantic Annotation Method for Efficient Representation of Moving Objects (이동 객체의 효과적 표현을 위한 시맨틱 어노테이션 방법)

  • Recently, researches for semantic annotation methods which represent and search objects included in video data, have been briskly activated since video starts to be popularized as types for interactive contents. Different location data occurs at each frame because coordinates of moving objects are changed with the course of time. Saving the location data for objects of every frame is too ineffective. Thus, it is needed to compress and represent effectively. This paper suggests two methods; the first, ontology modeling for moving objects to make users intuitively understandable for the information, the second, to reduce the amount of data for annotating moving objects by using cubic spline interpolation. To verify efficiency of the suggested method, we implemented the interactive video system and then compared with each video dataset based on sampling intervals. The result follows : when we got samples of coordinate less than every 15 frame, it showed that could save up to 80% amount of data storage; moreover, maximum of error deviation was under 31 pixels and the average was less than 4 pixels.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅환경에서는 다양한 서비스가 존재한다. 사용자들은 수많은 서비스들을 사용하기에 앞서 이들이 어디에 있는지, 어떻게 사용해야 하는지를 알아야 한다. SLP, Jini, 그리고 UPnP 같은 대부분의 현존하는 서비스 디스커버리 (Service Discovery) 기술들은 키워드 매치 방법으로 서비스를 검색한다. 이 같은 방식에서는 사용자가 자신이 이용하고자 하는 서비스에 대한 정확한 명칭을 알고 있어야 서비스를 검색할 수 있다. 그러나 유비쿼터스 환경에서는 매우 다양한 서비스가 존재하고, 사용자들 대부분은 해당 서비스의 전문가가 아니기 때문에 정확한 키워드를 선택하여, 원하는 서비스를 찾는데 어려움이 있다. 시맨틱 웹 분야에서 새롭게 떠오른 온톨로지는 특정 분야에서 사용되는 정보의 구조 혹은 용어에 관한 내용을 사용자들이 공유할 수 있도록 정리해놓은 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 온톨로지의 특성을 이용하여, 사용자에게 이용 가능한 서비스에 대한 정보들을 제공하여 사용자가 다양한 서비스를 쉽게 찾아 쓸 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 이 방식은 에이전트간의 온톨로지 교환을 통해서 이루어지며, 서비스 블록(Service Block)이라고 불리는 공간 안에서 수행된다. 또한 서비스 컨트롤러(Service Controller)를 이용하여 서비스를 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 UI 를 제공한다. 본 시스템을 위하여 JENA2, JADE, Aglet, OWL, 그리고 RDQL 이 사용되었다.

Efficient Change Detection between RDF Models Using Backward Chaining Strategy (후방향 전진 추론을 이용한 RDF 모델의 효율적인 변경 탐지)

  • RDF is widely used as the ontology language for representing metadata on the semantic web. Since ontology models the real-world, ontology changes overtime. Thus, it is very important to detect and analyze changes in knowledge base system. Earlier studies on detecting changes between RDF models focused on the structural differences. Some techniques which reduce the size of the delta by considering the RDFS entailment rules have been introduced. However, inferencing with RDF models increases data size and upload time. In this paper, we propose a new change detection using RDF reasoning that only computes a small part of the implied triples using backward chaining strategy. We show that our approach efficiently detects changes through experiments with real-life RDF datasets.

Client level QoS/SLA Management using UML and Ontology (UML과 온톨로지를 이용한 고객 등급 QoS/SLA 관리)

  • According to increasing of accessing multimedia stream contents, Web services have become popular. However, these Web services are not supported with the same quality to Web clients who frequently access multimedia services. This paper proposes ontological technique to apply client level Quality of Service(QoS) that provides two different levels to serve Web service with proper quality by contribution value. And, it describes with UML(Unified Modeling Language) how to relate QoS and SLA(Service Level Agreement). Main contribution of this paper is to support client level QoS and SLA and to use Ontology for it. Therefore, this work uses an ontology-based approach to organize QoS and SLA, enabling semantic classification of all Web services based on domains and QoS and SLA attributes.

  • A core technology that may realize the Semantic Web is Ontology. The OWL (Web Ontology Language) has been positioned as a standard language. It requires technical expertise to directly represent the domain knowledge in OWL. Based on our experience of analyzing the fundamental relationships of concepts in e-catalog domain, we have developed a visual product information modeler called PROMOD. The modeling editor makes it possible to automatically generate the OWL codes for the given product information. We employ an Extended Entity-Relationship for conceptual modeling, enriched with modeling elements specialized for the product domain. In this paper, we present our translation schemes from EER model to OWL codes, and how to design and implement the modeling editor. We also provide a scenario to demonstrate the usage of the editor in practice.

  • This paper a framework and method for resolving word sense disambiguation and present the results. In this work, WordNet is used for two different purposes: one as a dictionary and the other as an ontology, containing the hierarchical structure, representing hypernym-hyponym relations. The advantage of this approach is twofold. First, it provides a very simple method that is easily implemented. Second, we do not suffer from the lack of large corpus data which would have been necessary in a statistical method. In the future this can be extended to incorporate other relations, such as synonyms, meronyms, and antonyms.

An Extraction of Property of Ontology Instance Using Stratification of Domain Knowledge (도메인지식의 계층화를 통한 온톨로지 인스턴스의 속성정보 추출)

  • The ontology has been used widely in recent years with its aim to accumulate knowledge that machine can comprehend. We believe that machine can manage and analyze information on its own using the ontology. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that allows us to extract properties of ontology instances from structured information already existing in web documents. In particular, by stratification of the domain knowledge that is composed of property information, we were able to make the algorithm better and improve the quality of extraction results. In our experiments with 20 thousands targeted documents, we were able to extract property information with 83% confidence.
