Variation of Disinfection-by-Prodcut in Distribution System and Evaluation of Correlation between Disinfection-by-Product and Physico-Chemical Parameters (관망에서의 소독부산물 변화와 관련 영향인자들의 상관관계 분석)

  • The distributed systems managed by K-water were surveyed to study the characteristic of disinfection-by-product (Trihalomethans & Haloacetic acids) formation and the correlations between the concentrations of disinfection-by-product and physico-chemical parameters. Five distribted system were selected according to their water ages and the degree of deterioration of their pipelines. Total seven items including Trihalomethans (THMs), Haloacetic acids (HAAs), BDOC, DOC, pH, chlorine residual, and temperature were analysed in monthly basis. The concentration of organic matter were increased according to water age and pipeline deterioration in this study. The coefficient of determination between the decline of residual chlorine and the increase of water age was revealed as high. Also, the coefficient of determination between the decline rate of residual chlorine and the increase of the Trihalomethans concentration were studied as high. Furthermore the longer water age is the bigger the effect on Trihalomethans formation and temperature. However, the coefficient of determination between the concentraion of Haloacetic acid and water age, residual chlorine, and temperature were revealed as low in this study.

  • Crack-free dried gel monoliths of the composition $Li_2O1{\cdot}7Al_2O_3{\cdot}8.6SiO_2$ have been prepared as a precursor of transparent glass-ceramic by the hydrolysis and polycondensation of mixed metal alkoxides in solutions containing N,N-dimethylformamide as the drying control chemical additive, alcohols, and water. It was investigated that activation energy for gelation according to the variation of water concentration ranged from 13 to 14 kcal/mol. Only when the amount of water for gelation was 3 times higher than the stoichiometric amount, monolithic dry gels were successfully prepared after drying at $70{\sim}75^{\circ}C$ and at a rate of 0.1~0.3%/h. The specific surface area, the pore volume, the average pore diameters of dried gel at $180^{\circ}C$ were about $239.40m^2/g$, 0.001~0.03 mL/g, and $145.62{\AA}$, respectively. It showed that the dried monolithic gel had a porous body. The DTA curve had the first exothermic peak around $800^{\circ}C$ and the 2nd peak around $980^{\circ}C$, which may correspond to crystallization of the gel.

산화아연 나노막대/PDMS 제작기술과 광학적 특성 연구

  • PDMS는 미세패턴을 위해 소프트 리소그래피 널리 활용되어질 뿐만 아니라, 재질이 투명하고 탄성과 강한 내구성을 갖고 있어 유연한 광학 및 전자소자에 이용될 수 있다. 최근에는, 이러한 PDMS를 서브파장구조(subwavelength grating structure)를 형성하거나 텍스쳐(texture)표면구조를 이용한 효과적인 반사방지막(antireflection coating)기판을 제작하여 태양전지 및 디스플레이 소자의 성능을 발전시키는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 한편, 수열합성법(hydrothermal method)이나 전기화학증착법(electrodeposition method)으로 비교적 간단한 공정을 통해서 다양한 기판위에 산화아연(ZnO) 나노막대(nanorod)를 수직정렬로 성장시킬 수 있는데, 이러한 구조는 반사방지특성의 유효 굴절률 분포(effective refractive index profile)를 갖고 있기 때문에 LED나 태양전지에 성능을 개선할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 수열합성법을 통해 성장된 수직 정렬된 산화아연 나노막대를 이용한 PDMS 표면의 미세패턴 형성하여 광학적 특성을 분석하였다. 실험을 위해, 스퍼터링을 통해서 산화아연 시드층을 형성한 후, 질산아연헥사수화물과 헥사메틸렌테트라민을 수용액에 담가두어 산화아연 나노막대를 성장시켰으며, PDMS의 베이스와 경화제의 질량비를 10:1으로 용액을 준비하여 수직 정렬된 산화아연 나노막대 표면을 casting method으로 코팅하여 열경화 처리하였다. 제작된 샘플의 형태, 구조 광특성을 관찰하기 위해서 전계방출형전자현미경, X선 회절 분석기, 분광 광도계를 이용하였다.

  • Reactions of [PtCl$_4$]$^{2-}$ with excess of dithiocarbamates in water lead to facile replacement of the chloro ligand by dithiocarbamato ligand to give [Pt(A)], [Pt(B)$_2$]Cl$_2$, [Pt(C)$_2$], and [Pt(D)(CH$_2$=CH$_2$)Cl]Cl. The complexes of platinum have been characterized by elemental analyses, infrared and UV-visible spectra, and conductivity measurements. Platinum(II)-dithiocarbamate complexes were soluble in polar solvents such as water, alcohol, acetone, dimethylformamide, and dimethylsulfoxide etc. The possible structure was proposed on the basis of elemental analyses and physical properties.

  • 문서에 존재하는 중요한 개체를 인식하고 그것들 간의 관계를 식별하는 시맨틱 트리플 추출은 문헌 분석의 기반이 되는 중요한 작업이다. 본 논문에서는 특허 문헌에서 이러한 시맨틱 트리플을 추출하는 방법에 대해서 설명한다. 특허 문헌의 효과적인 자동 분석을 위하여 문장 내의 다양한 구문적 변형을 인식하여 하나의 정규화된 의미 형태로 표현해주는 술어-논항 구조 기반의 패턴을 사용하였고, 패턴의 자동화된 확장을 위하여 부트스트랩핑 방법을 적용하였다. 이러한 방법은 소규모의 시드 데이터를 활용하여 특정의미 관계를 갖는 패턴을 자동으로 확장하고 최종적으로는 유의미한 트리플을 추출하는 방법으로 다량의 이진 관계 집합을 처리해야 할 때 아주 유용한 방법이다. 시스템 적용을 통하여 특허 문헌에 적합한 38개의 연관관계 집합을 생성하였고, 32,608개의 유의미한 트리플을 추출하였다.

A Study on the Determinants of Investment in Startup Accelerators (스타트업 액셀러레이터의 투자결정요인에 대한 연구)

  • Startup accelerators are a new type of investors providing a certain amount of shares for imparting education, mentoring, networking, and providing space and seed money that can directly resolve the difficulties faced by nascent entrepreneurs (Clarysse, 2016). Startup accelerators have expanded worldwide as their influence over the startup ecosystem has increasingly been established (Pauwels et al., 2016; Cohen & Hochberg, 2014). This study was conducted to derive investment determinants of startup accelerators that are emerging as major investment players around the world. To this end, the accelerator-type determinants of investment were derived. As previous research on this topic is nonexistent, this process involved qualitative meta-synthesis, literature reviews, observation, and in-depth interviews. First, more than 30 research papers were examined for the determinants of investment for firms at an early stage of their foundation, and the categories and determinants of investment in the relevant studies were comparatively analyzed using qualitative meta-synthesis. Further, related data were investigated to identify the characteristics of accelerators, and the startup evaluation process of US accelerators was studied. The more than 100 questions raised during this process were coded to examine the determinants of investment that accelerators considered important. In-depth interviews were conducted with four US accelerators to identify the characteristics of accelerators and key determinants of investment. Ultimately, 5 categories of accelerator-type determinants of investment and 26 subordinate determinants of investment were derived. The results were verified and supplemented by consulting with seven accelerators in Korea. The results were confirmed after pilot tests and verification by seven domestic accelerators. After confirming the accelerator-type determinants, the reliability of them was verified by examining the importance and priority of each category through the quantitative survey of Korean accelerators. The research that elicited the accelerator-type investment determinants is the first research and is expected to be a major reference to the progress of subsequent studies. This research that systematically derived the investment determinants of the accelerator is expected to make major contributions to the progress of follow-up studies, the process of selecting startups, and the investment decision-making process of the accelerators.

Study on the growth of 4H-SiC single crystal with high purity SiC fine powder (고순도 SiC 미분말을 적용한 4H-SiC 단결정 성장에 관한 연구)

  • High purity SiC fine powder with metal impurity contents of less than 1 ppm was synthesized by improved carbothermal reduction process, and the synthesized powder was used for SiC single crystal growth in RF heating PVT device at temperature above 2,100℃. In-situ x-ray image analyzer was used to observe the sublimation of the powder and single crystal growth behavior during the growth process. SiC powder was used as a source of single crystal growth, exhausted from the outside of the graphite crucible at the growth temperature and left graphite residues. During the growth, the flow of raw materials was concentrated in the middle and influenced the growth behavior of SiC single crystals. This is due to the difference in temperature distribution inside the crucible due to the fine powder. After the single crystal growth was completed, the single crystal ingot was cut into a 1 mm thick single crystal substrate and finely polished using a diamond abrasive slurry. A dark yellow 4H-SiC was observed overall of single crystal substrate, and the polycrystals generated in the outer part may be caused by the incorporation of impurities such as the bubble layer mixed in the process of attaching the seed crystal to the seed holder.

Effect of plasmid curing on the 2, 3-dihydroxybenzoic acid production and antibiotic resistance of Acinetobacter sp. B-W (Acinetobacter sp. B-W의 2, 3-dihydroxybenzoic acid 생산과 항생제 저항성에 미치는 플라스미드 제거 효과)

  • Acinetobacter sp. B-W producing siderophore, 2, 3-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB) was analyzed for plasmid content. Strain B-W harbored plasmid of 20 kb in size. Growth at $43^{\circ}C$ was effective in producing mutant cured of plasmid of strain B-W. This mutant lost the ability to produce 2, 3-DHB. Formation of siderophore halos on the chrome azurol S (CAS) agar medium was not detected by cured strain B-W. pHs of supernatants of wild type strain B-W and cured mutant grown in glucose and $MnSO_4$ containing medium at $28^{\circ}C$ for 3 days were 4.5 and 8.5, respectively. Antibiotic resistance against ampicillin, actinomycin D, bacitracin, lincomycin, and vancomycin was lost in cured mutant. Plasmid curing of strain B-W resulted in drastic reduction of minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of several antibiotics. E. coli $DH5{\alpha}$ was transformed with plasmid isolated from strain B-W. The transformant E. coli $DH5{\alpha}$ harbored a plasmid of the same molecular size as that of the donor plasmid. Transformant E. coli $DH5{\alpha}$ produced 2, 3-DHB and contained antibiotic resistant ability. Thus a single plasmid of 20 kb seemed to be involved in 2, 3-DHB production. Genes encoding resistance to antibiotics were also supposed to be located on this plasmid.

Characteristics of Disinfection Byproducts in Tap Water of Seoul (서울시 수돗물 배급수 계통에서 소독부산물 분포특성)

  • Total trihalomethanes (THMs), dichloroacetic acid (DCAA) and trichloroacetic acid (TCAA) that are the major disinfection byproducts (DBPs) are monitored continuously in drinking water in Seoul. Study on characteristics of DBPs is crucial to judge the safety of drinking water in Seoul. Analysis of THMs, haloacetonitriles (HANs), chloral hydrate (CH), and haloacetic acids (HAAs) was carried out in several distribution systems from January 2002 to December 2004. The concentration of THMs was 0.015 mg/L in purified water, 0.019 mg/L in tapwater by direct service, and 0.023 mg/L in tapwater through watertank, respectively. It might be due to the increased contact time with chlorine by a process of the distribution system. And the other DBPs show a tendency to increase in its concentration by a process of the distribution system. Also, in summer, the concentration of DBPs was higher than in spring and winter. It might be due to the higher temperature of water in summer. In all cases, the quantities of detected DBPs were 4-6 times lower than those of regulation limits of drinking water in Seoul. In view of these results, the tapwater in Seoul is good to drink it all the times.

Study on Biochemical Pollutant Markers for Diagnosis of Marine Pollution X. Changes in Oxygen Radicals and Their Scavenger Enzymes of the Mussel (Mytilus coruscus) in the South Sea (해양오염의 진단을 위한 생화학적 오염지표에 관한 연구 X. 남해산 홍합 (Mytilus coruscus)의 산소 라디칼 및 제거효소의 변화)

  • This study was designed as a part of efforts to investigate the biochemical pollutant markers for diagnosis of marine pollutions by changes in oxygen radicals and their scavenger enzymes of the mussel (Mytilus coruscus) in South Sea of Korea. Protein contents in muscle of cultured mussel in South Sea were remarkably lower (4-14%, respectively) than those of wild mussel in Pohang of East Sea. Superoxide radical activities in muscle of cultured in South Sea were significantly higher 82∼138% than those of wild mussel in Pohang. Hydroxyl radical formations in muscle of cultured mussels in South Sea were significantly 9∼25% higher than those of wild mussels in Pohang. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities in muscle of cultured mussels in South Sea were significantly 16∼28% lower than those of wild mussels in Pohang. It is believed that significantly decrease of protein contents in muscle, remarkable increases of superoxide radical and hydroxyl radical in muscle of cultured mussels of South Sea may be used as a biochemical pollutant markers for diagnosis of marine pollutions. These results suggest that near-coastal water as well as neritic water of the south sea might be affected by pollutant.
