용접 구조 설계

  • 본 보에서는 용접 구조물의 파괴 방지를 위한 제반 용접 구조 설계에 대하여 전반적으로 기술 하였다. 현대 용접 구조물의 각 선급이나 spec.에서 규정한 식들에 의해 산정된 정적하중으로 구조 설계되는 종래의 방법과는 달리, 유한 요소 구조 해석에 의한 강도 평가, 외부하중의 직접 계산에 의한 보다 정확한 설계 하중의 설정 및 통계적 처리를 통한 합리적인 구조해석(피로강도 포함)등으로 설계되고 있다. 더우기 구조설계시 구조물의 취성파괴를 고려한 파괴강도 및 인성 개념을 도입하였을 뿐 아니라 균열의 존재와 성장을 파괴 역학적으로 해석하여 구조물의 조업 중에서의 파괴관리 및 제어도 실시할 수 있는 총합적인 설계에 의하여 용접 구조물은 제작되고 있다. 비록 구조물의 총합적인 구조 설계로 제작되었을지라도, 구조물의 사용 성능은 용접부의 특성에 의하여 크게 변하게 되므로 용접 설계의 역할을 매우 중요하다. 용접 설계란 용접시공법, 구조부재 및 용접재료의 선정, 용접 이음부의 구조적 형상과 세부 형상 및 그외 용접에 관련된 제 인자들을 상호 유기적으로 조합함으로써 보다 경제적이고 신뢰성 있는 용접부를 얻고자 함에 그 목적이 있다.

A Study on the Optimal Mixture Ratio for Stabilization of Surface Layer on Ultra-soft Marine Clay (초연약 해성점토의 표층고화처리를 위한 최적배합에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, as large constructions on the coast increase, an application of a surface layer stabilization method which is one of the improvement methods for dredged soft clay has increased. However, there are few studies about this. The purpose of this study is clarifying characteristics of ultra-soft marine clay and hardening agent. Also, it is verifying an optimal mixture ratio of hardening agent through the laboratory tests according to designed experiments and proving by statistical analysis and pilot tests. Laboratory tests were performed with proper hardening agent and test soil in accordance with the design of experiments. Regression equations between hardening agents materials and unconfined compressive strength were derived from the tests. The applicability of regression equations were also verified by pilot tests. From the test results, it was found that hardening agent materials(cement, slag, fly-ash, inorganic salts, arwin, gypsum etc.) have some effect upon compressive strength. The optimal mixture ratio which satisfies the required compressive strength was derived from the statistical analysis. The effect of ground improvement by cements and hardening agents was confirmed through the pilot tests. This study will suggest data for design or construction criteria of stabilization of surface layer on ultra-soft marine clay.

A Study on the Actual Condition of Electrical Construction Supervision and Countermeasure of It (전력시설물공사 감리제도의 현황과 실태분석 및 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문은 현행 전력기술 관리법에 의하여 시행되고 있는 전력시설물공사 감리제도의 제도개선에 관한 연구로서 연구자의 현장 실무경험과 감리제도의 일반사항, 감리업자와 감리원에 대한 사항, 감리업자 선정 및 입찰에 관한 사항을 조사하여 전력시설물공사 감리제도의 현황과 실태분석 및 개선방안을 제시한 내용으로 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 법적 및 제도적 측면에서 시급히 개선될 사항이다. 정부는 1995년 12월 법률 제5,132호로 전력기술관리법을 제정하여 전력시설물에 대한 공사감리 업무를 별도 분리 발주하여 전문성을 높이도록 전기 분야 전문기술자에 의해 수행토록 하는 것을 골자로 하는 책임 감리제도를 도입하여 오늘에 이르고 있다. 그러나 공사 준골단계에서 전기사업법 제98조 2항에 의해 위탁업무를 하고 있는 전기 안전공사가 사용전 검사를 함으로서 책임 감리제도의 도입 취지를 무색케 한 정도로 심각한 국면에 접어들었다. 전력기술관리법이 제정되어 13년이 지난 오늘까지도 책임 감리제도가 성공적으로 정착되지 못한 근본적인 문제는 사용전 검사를 전기 안전공사에서 대행하고 있다는 것이다. 물론 그동안의 많은 노력으로 어느 정도의 개선은 있었지만 근본적인 문제가 해결되지 않고서는 전력시설물공사의 감리기술의 전문화를 기대하기 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 책임 감리계도의 성공적인 정착을 위해서는 전기사업법 제98조 2항에 의한 위탁 업무인 사용전 감사 제도를 감리업자에게 돌려줌으로서 책임과 권한을 실질적으로 부여하고 감리회사 자체의 기술력 및 기술자 확보와 기술개발에 필요한 운영자금 및 투자 확대를 유도해 나가야 하며, 무엇보다도 확실한 법적 제도적 뒤받침이 선행되어야 한다. 둘째, 제도적 측면에서 일반건축물은 사업주가 전력시설물공사 감리업자를 임의선정 및 수의계약에 의해 감리업자를 지정하고 해당 공사기간동안 전기 감리원을 투입토록 되어 있어 인건비에 미치지 못하는 저가수주와 다음계약을 위해 어쩔 수 없이 사업주에게 종속되는 경우가 많으며, 이로 인해 감리수행에 혼란이 야기되고 책임소재의 불분명 책임 감리원의 조정 및 통제기능이 약화되는 부작용이 나타나고 있다. 전력시설물공사의 감리는 전력시설물의 안전사고, 비효율 및 부실소지 둥을 방지하기 위해서 필수적이고 발주자 감리업자 시공업체에게 모두 도움을 주는 업무이며, 일정규모이상의 건축물은 자발적인 참여로 유도할 수 있도록 적격심사제도(PQ심사)도입이 적극 필요한 실정이다. 셋째, 운용측면에서 공동주택의 주택법에 의한 전력시설물공사 감리는 사업승인권자가 사업수행능력 평가기준(PQ 심사)에 따라 감리업자를 지정하고 해당 공사기간 동안에 전기 감리원을 투입토록 되어 있으나 평가기준이 세대수에 따라 정해져 있어 효율적, 기술적 측면에 미치지 못하는 경우가 많다. 수준 높은 감리를 수행하려면 그에 맞는 적정한 감리원의 투입이 필수적이다. 넷째, 운용 및 제도적 측면에서 공공발주 건축물(공동주택 포함)의 전력시설물공사는 사업수행능력 평가기준(PQ 심사)에 따라 감리업자를 지정하고 해당 공사기간 동안에 전기 감리원을 투입토록 되어 있으나 발주자 소속직원의 감리수행 근거에 의해 자체 감리를 함으로서 시장경쟁 및 민간경제 활성화의 제약, 부정부패 및 비효율 등 사회에 전반적으로 악영향을 끼쳐 하루 빨리 민간 감리업자에게로의 개선이 시급한 실정이다.

Design of Truck Escape Ramps (자동차 긴급 피난 차선의 계획 설계)

  • This synthesis has been prepared from a review of literature on Truck Escape Ramps technology and a survey of current practice by state department of transportation. Their locations have been determined usually from a combination of accident experience and en-gineering judgement, but new tools are emerging that can identify needs and sites without waiting for catastrophic accidents to happen. The Grade Severity Rating Systems holds promise in this regard. Design Procedures for truck excape ramps continue to evolve. Gravel arrester beds are clearly the preferred choice across the country Rounded aggregate, uniformly graded in the approximate size range of 13 to 18mm. Tech-nical publications typically have dassified TER types as paved gravity, sandpile, and ar-rester bed ramps. The design speed for vehicle entry into the ramp in critical to the deter-mination of ramp length. An escape ramp should be designed for a minimum entry speed of 130km/hr, a 145km/hr design being preferred. The ramps should be straight and their angle to the roadway align-ment should be as possible. The grade of truck escape ramps show the adjustment of ramp design to local topography, such as the tradeoff of ramp length against earthwork requirements. A width of 9 to 12m would more safety acommodate two or more outof con-trol vehicles. Reguarding comments on the most effective material, most respondents cited their own specification or referred to single graded, rounded pea gravel. The consensus essentially Is that single graded, well -rounded gravel is the most desirable material for use in arrester beds. The arrester beds should be constructed with a minimum aggregate depth of 30cm. Successful ramps have used depths between 30 and 90cm.

Seismic Design of Bridges in Moderate Seismic Region and Response Modification Factors (중진지역 교량 내진설계와 응답수정계수)

  • ‘Korean Highway Bridge Design Code’ provides the spectrum analysis method with response modification factors for the seismic design of typical bridges. However, considering that korean peninsula is classified as moderate seismic regions and domestic circumstances for bridge design and construction are different from other countries, the applicability of this code is not yet proved. Therefore it is required to verify that applying the spectrum analysis method fulfills the no collapse requirement which is set forth as the basic seismic design concept. In this study two typical bridges with T and ${\prod}$ type piers are selected as analysis bridges and seismic designs are carried out by applying the spectrum analysis method with design conditions given for moderate seismic regions. Based on the results obtained through deign procedures, the role of the response modification factors and fulfillment of the no collapse requirement are discussed, from which supplementary provisions for the design code are identified.

  • The US Pavement Design method (AASHTO) and HDM-4, a road pavement maintenance decision system, are not suitable for domestic pavement design, construction and maintenance. KPRP(Korea Pavement Research Program) has been developed to reflect Korea's environmental conditions and vehicle characteristics, thereby, extending pavement life. The main objective of this study is to select the best alternative through Life Cycle Cost $CO_2$ (LCCC) calculations among three representative maintenance strategies using KPRP design software since the environment cost resulting from the extended pavement life will also differ. The analysis of this study illustrates that cumulative carbon emissions for 40 years in alternative 2 (Cutting and Overlaying at Year 30) is the lowest option among them, and the basic cost of $CO_2$ emission by various road maintenance and repair work can be used for suggesting an optimal maintenance strategy for highway agency.

  • Recently the necessity of developing the Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) for shallow foundation has been raised to implement to the domestic design codes related to geotechnical engineering since the limit state design is requested as international technical standard for the foundation of structures. In this study, applicability of LRFD for shallow foundation on weathered soils was investigated and resistance factor for this case was proposed. The quantitative analyses on the uncertainty and resistance bias for shallow foundation on weathered soil ground were performed by collecting the statistical data about domestic case studies for design and construction of shallow foundation. Reliability analyses for shallow foundation were first performed using FDA (First-order Design value Approach) method. Resistance factors were calibrated using the load factors obtained from the specifications of shallow foundations on weathered soil ground. The influence of the load factors developed in this study on the resistance factors were discussed by comparing with the resistance factor obtained from using AASHTO load factors.

  • In this study, steel deck bridges are chosen as analytic model to show the structural behaviors generated by high temperature of pavement and to formulate the simplified approximate analysis of thermal effects. In general, the thermal effect is changed by the material property of pavements and environmental temperature as well as shape, size and boundary conditions of bridge. Specially, this effect is the representative initial stress problem dependent on time. The thermal effect, however, does not depend on time and thermal effect is regarded as initial load in this study. After these thermal loading is modelled as moving loads, influence lines of reactions of shoes are calculated and the successive pavement steps with arbitrary segments are determined to minimize the thermal effect of shoes by influence line.

  • This study is to present empirical data about the needs for quality security of aggregate by randomly selecting aggregate from 4 major locations including A, B, C, D province in Korea, by investigating its quality status in terms of physical properties and particle distribution based on Korean industrial standards(KS). The test results indicated that wide variance in quality, and some of aggregate samples were far below the standard, still many of them are not satisfying KS standards. In addition, the current aggregate manufacturing process that does not include inspection of particle size distribution by sieving and fineness modulus, can induce a possibility of non-KS aggregate's distribution; this provide that the current status of aggregate quality security of Korea is seriously threatened. Thus, it is important to secure each aggregate's quality level under KS standards.

  • This study was performed to suggest a rational method for the stability evaluation of agricultural reservoir in the very soft ground. The stability methods for agricultural reservoir was used to compare and analyze with various condition by limit equilibrium method. The behavior of settlement-displacement obtained by field monitoring system was used to compare and analyze with various stability methods, and to investigate the applicability of the methods for stability evaluation of agricultural reservoir. The horizontal displacement was abruptly increased when physical properties of soft clay reached its maximum values and therefore, the values of these properties could be used to the fundamental data for stability evaluation. The evaluation of the stability of agricultural reservoir was suggested to use the inclination of curve rather than critical line.
