Analysis of Daejeon Metropolitan City′s Urbanized Area Change Pattern using Remotely Sensed Imagery (위성자료를 이용한 대전시 도시지역 변화특성 연구)

  • 도시라는 광역지역의 확장을 분석하는데 위성자료는 매우 유용한 정보를 제공한다. 특히 한국항공우주연구원에서 운용중인 다목적 실용위성(KOMPSAT) 1호 영상자료는 해상도가 높아 도시지역의 분석에 유용한 정보를 제공하고 있으며, 과거의 항공사진 등을 복합적으로 활용한다면 도시의 확장 과정에 대한 시계열 분석이 가능하다. 도시의 확장 과정을 분석하여 그 정보를 추출하는 것은 새로운 도시계획을 위한 필수적인 기본 자료를 구축하는 중요한 역할을 할 수 있으며, 특히 2003년 개정 시행중인 국토의 계획 및 이용에 관한 법률은 도시기본계획 수립에 있어 도시의 성장 경향 등에 관한 기초조사를 의무화한 토지적성평가 제도를 도입하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 다목적 실용위성 1호 EOC 영상과 기타 원격탐사 자료를 복합적으로 활용하여 대전광역시 도시화 지역의 확장 추이를 분석하고 그 경향과 특성을 도출해 도시계획 수립에 원격탐사 자료를 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시해 보고자 한다.

Transition of Four Major Social Safety Indexes by Time Series Data Analysis (시계열 자료 분석을 통한 4대 사회안전지표 변화 추이)

  • Four major social safety indexes including industrial accident, traffic accident, fire, and violent crime were selected, and transition of those values by time series data analysis since 2003 was presented. Comparing with the 2003 figure, the index of industrial accident was reduced by 27.8%, which was the most improved safety index. The indicators describing the traffic accident and violent crime rate were reduced by approximately 12%. However, the fire safety index showed an increase of 40% compared with the base year because national fire classification system was changed so that minor fire is also included in the counting since 2006.

Spatial Pattern and Trend Analysis of Parking-related Electronic Civil Complaints in Jinju-Si (진주시 주차관련 전자민원의 공간패턴분석 및 추이분석)

  • Korea, which has undergone a rapid urbanization, faces various problems such as the management of facilities, safety, environment and transportation. To solve civil complaints, local governments receive electronic complaints, but complaints are increasing. Therefore, this study conducted the spatial distribution pattern analysis and the trend analysis by presenting location data on spatial information through Geo-coding by collecting electronic civil petition data over the last 10 years targeting Jinju city. Using the ARIMA model, this study predicted the occurrence of complaints over the next two years (2016~2017) through a time series forecast analysis. As a result, the complaints related to illegal parking were the highest, the complaint related to noise was the second highest, and the complaints related to illegal garbage dumping was the third highest. In addition, the analysis of the spatial distribution pattern shows that the largest hot spot was formed in the central commercial district every year. As a result of the time series forecasting analysis for the crackdown of the illegal parking, complaints increased slightly. To compare the predicted value and the actual data showed a similar pattern. It is judged that this study will be utilized to establish effective countermeasures against civil complaints.

  • Nowadays, Social Network Service (SNS), which has been in the spotlight as a way of communication, has become a most effective tool to improve easy of information use and accessibility for users. In this paper, we chose Twitter as the most representative SNS services because of automatic crawling and investigated tweet data gathered from domestic and foreign National Archives - NARA of U.S.A., TNA of U.K.. NAA of Australia, and National Archives of Korea. We also conducted information genres analysis and trend analysis by timeline. Information genres analysis shows how archives satisfied users' information needs as well as trends analysis of tweets helps to understand how users' interestedness was changed. Based on comparison results, we distilled four characteristics of National Archives and suggested vitalization ways for National Archives of Korea.

Socioeconomic Conditions and Divorce Rate in Korea: An Analysis of Time-series Data, 1970-2002 (사회경제 상황이 이혼율 변화에 미치는 영향: 시계열 자료의 분석, 1970-2002)

  • 이 연구에서는 1970년부터 2002년까지의 시계열 자료를 이용하여 우리나라의 사회경제상황이 이혼율 증가에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지를 분석하였다. Land and Felson(1976)의 거시 동태 사회지표 모형을 바탕으로 경제상황과 남녀 성비, 그리고 이혼 관련법의 개정 등을 분석모형에 포함시켰다. 경제상황에는 여성의 경제활동 참여율, 실업률 그리고 1인당 국내총생산으로 측정된 소득수준을 포함시켰다. 분석의 결과는 실업률과 소득수준이 이혼율의 증가 추이에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 1인당 국내총생산의 수준이 높을수록 이혼율도 증가하는 분석의 결과는 경제적 호황기에는 이혼율이 증가하고 경제적 쇠퇴기에는 이혼율이 감소한다는 선행연구의 주장을 실증적으로 뒷받침해주고 있다. 그러나 실업률이 증가할수록 이혼율도 높아지는 것으로 분석되고 있는데 이는 혼인의 결정 요인과 관련한 남성 중심의 가설을 뒷받침하고 있다. 이러한 연구의 결과는 경제상황을 구성하는 하위요인(소득수준과 실업률)이 이혼율의 변화에 미치는 영향의 기제가 다름을 보여주고 있다. 사회경제상황 자체보다는 경제상황의 변화가 이혼율의 변화에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 분석하기 위하여 회귀분석의 모형에 변화율을 변수로 포함시킬 경우에는 1977년의 가족법 개정만이 이혼율의 변화율에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 분석에서 이혼율에 영향을 미치는 모든 거시적 요인을 통제하지 못하고 있는데, 이는 이 연구의 내적 타당도를 저해하는 요인이 된다. 우리나라의 경우 이혼율은 경제적 상황보다는 오히려 문화적 또는 사회적 요인에 의해서 결정될 수도 있기 때문에 이혼율을 결정짓는 경제적, 문화적, 그리고 사회적 요인들을 모두 포함하는 분석 모형의 개발과 실증 자료를 이용한 검증은 향후의 연구 과제로 남는다.

The research on daily temperature using continuous AR model (일별 온도의 연속형 자기회귀모형 연구 - 6개 광역시를 중심으로 -)

  • This study uses a continuous autoregressive (CAR) model to analyze daily average temperature in six Korean metropolitan cities. Data period is Jan. 1, 1954 to Dec. 31, 2010 covering 57 years. Using a relative long time series reveals that the linear time trend components are all statistically significant in the six cities, which was not shown in previous studies. Particularly the plus sign of its coefficient implies the effect on Korea of the global warming. Unit-root test results are that the temperature time series are stationary without unit-root. It turns out that CAR(3) is suitable for stochastic component of the daily temperature. Since developing suitable continuous stochastic model of the underlying weather related variables is crucial in pricing the weather derivatives, the results in this study will likely prove useful in further future studies on pricing weather derivatives.

Trend Analysis and Prediction of the Number of Births and the Number of Outpatients using Time Series Analysis (시계열 분석을 통한 출생아 수와 소아치과 내원 환자 수 추세 분석 및 예측)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the trend of the number of births in Gwangju and the number of outpatients in Pediatric Dentistry at Chonnam National University Dental Hospital over the past 10 years (2010 - 2019) and predict the next year using time series analysis. The number of births showed an unstable downward trend with monthly variations, with the highest in January and the lowest in December. The average number of births in 2020 was predicted to be 682 (595 to 782, 95% CI), and the actual number of births was an average of 610. The number of outpatients was relatively stable, showing a month-to-month variation, with highest in August and the lowest in June. The average number of patients in 2020 was predicted to be 603 (505 to 701, 95% CI), and the average number of actual visits was 587. Despite the decrease in the number of births, the number of outpatients was expected to increase somewhat. Due to the special situation of COVID-19, the actual number of births and patients was to be slightly lower than the predicted values, but it was that they were within the predicted confidence interval. Time series analysis can be used as a basic tool to prepare for the low fertility era in the field of pediatric dentistry.

Evolution of Industrial Agglomeration and Its Causal Relation with Road Networks in the U.S. (미국의 산업집적 추이와 도로교통망의 인과관계 분석)

  • Industrial agglomeration is an old theme in economic geography and many studies have been devoted to this topic. But only few have empirically looked at the time trend of industrial agglomeration. This study measured agglomeration of U.S. industries over last 29 years and measurement results indicated that industrial clustering has occurred during the study period in all study industries without a common time trend shared amongst the study industries. The agglomeration levels then were plugged in to investigate causalities, i.e. causal relations, around industrial agglomeration. Three variables were selected to see causal relations with agglomeration levels based on literatures, and our focus was given to the causality between transport network and agglomeration. Causal relation from transport to agglomeration was found in various industries and this supports the argument that the development of transportation influences industrial agglomeration. At the same time inverse and bi-directional causalities were also revealed implying more complex relationship between these two.

A Study on ODA Budget Allocation by Economic Development Stage and International Norm (경제발전과 국제규범 형성에 기반한 ODA 예산규모에 관한 연구)

  • The OECD DAC has recommended the member countries to raise the ODA budget by 0.7% of GNI. Most of DAC's members, howver, have not reached at the target level, mainly due to global economic crisis, with some exceptions in Northern Europe countries. Korea has increased the ODA budget allocation dramatically, but she could not still meet even the level 0.3%, which is the average level of DAC countries. In terms of national budget operation, DAC country groups are classified as the international norm type and the self-economic dependence type. And then, this study analyzes the time trends of the ODA budget in Korea, comparing with DAC's members on the economic scale. By forecasting Korean ODA budgets by country-type classifications, the optimal size of Korean government's ODA budget is proposed and discussed.

  • The monitoring and abnormality warning of marine diesel engine are important to take appropriate responses for safety navigation. If maintenance engineers do not take appropriate response because of diagnosis mistakes, it will occur a nasty accident. Therefore, we need integrated monitoring and diagnosis system for supporting a diagnosis objectively. In this paper, we analyze time-series data which measured by real-time, monitor the changing of conditions and trends of the analyzed data. Furthermore, we design and implement a monitoring and diagnosis system for objective supporting of real-time diagnosis. When the integrated monitoring and diagnosis system is adopted, it can help to improve stability of marine diesel engine by providing abnormality warning alarm with appropriate responses.
