According to a survey by the Korea Tourism Organization in 2018 and 2019, traveling to places recorded in TV programs or influential videos has become an important travel trend and several studies show that watching a travel program improves the intention to visit the places featured on the program. This study designed a travel program-linked data service that provides additional information on the places and events to the viewers of the travel program. Specifically, the additional information of the travel program was defined in a formal manner by dividing it into places and events, and a method of exposure of the additional information conformed to the contents of the program was designed. We also devised an international standard DVB-based data transmission method that provides the additional information to data services appropriately in time for program broadcasting. This study is significant in that it tested new applications of data services for travel programs.

This study aimed to develop and implement a home economics education program with a travel theme for middle school students and investigate whether it improves their subjective well-being. The ADDIE design model was used to develop and implement the home economics education program titled 'Happiness Travel with You and I'. The program consisted of six sessions focusing on time management, dietary life, and housing life. The 'Happiness Travel with You and I' program was implemented for first-year male and female students at middle school B in Cheongju City. The results revealed that the program reduced negative emotions in adolescents and positively influenced their perception of the value of life. Students rated the program highly in terms of satisfaction with class content, class interest, and recognition of the importance of the class. This study is significant as it is the first attempt to test the effect of a travel-themed home economics education program and suggests the expansion and promotion of travel and leisure education in the field of home economics education.

In the recent times, a personalized travel path recommendation based on both travelogues and community contributed photos and the heterogeneous meta-data (tags, geographical locations, and date taken) which are associated with photos have been studied. The travellers using social media leave their location history, in the form of paths. These paths can be bridged for acquiring information, required, for future recommendation, for the future travellers, who are new to that location, providing all sort of information. In this paper, we propose a personalized travel path recommendation scheme, based on social life log. By taking advantage, of two kinds of social media, such as travelogue and community contributed photos, the proposed scheme, can not only be personalized to user's travel interest, but also be able to recommend, a travel path rather than individual Points of Interest (POIs). The proposed personalized travel route recommendation method consists of two steps, which are: pruning POI pruning step and creating travel path step. In the POI pruning step, candidate paths are created by the POI derived. In the creating travel path step, the proposed scheme creates the paths considering the user's interest, cost, time, season of the topic for more meaningful recommendation.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the tourism demand elasticity of travel time distance on domestic destinations in Korea. Piecewise Linear Regression Model was applied to estimate the elasticities based on the Korea National Tourism Survey. It is found that the tourism demand elasticities by tourist distances decrease by 0.005% if time distance increase by 1 minute. In the first section, the most nearest distance is less than 11.6 minutes from the origin, elasticities increases by 0.206% of tourism demand, whereas in second section (from 11.7 to 75.1 minutes) and third section (more than 75.2 minutes) it decreases by 0.106% and 0.021%, respectively. The third section with sharply rising distance decay rate can be interpreted as the Effective Tourism Exclusion Zone of domestic tourists in Korea. Additionally, the more tourism demand is appeared at the younger age group than older age group, single travellers than group travellers, and people in Metropolitan Areas than in smaller cities.
