Rotating Brush Strokes to Track Movement for Painterly Rendering (회학적 렌더링에서 움직임을 따라 회전하는 붓질 기법)

  • We introduce a method of rendering a scene lying 3D objects which is like that artist draw on a canvas by brushing. Painting is the art area presenting something created by color and line on 2D plane. We are brushing on billboards on screen space for the 2D brushing effect according to the definition of "Painting". Brushing orientation is haven to rotate for preventing the orientation in the first scene in the case that object or camera are moving. If the brushing isn't rotated, shower-door effect is watched on the scene as undesirable result We present a brushing rotating method for keeping the orientation changing the direction of view and object rigid animation. The brushing direction is computed with Horn's 2D similarity transform by least-square solution. We watched the changing brushing to track the motion of object and view.

  • This study aims to study the relationship and narrative structure through types of conscious shown through characters of animation. Regardless of professional knowledge, animation viewers are able to decide sympathy cognitively during watching. There are previous studies examining elements regarding the sympathy felt by viewers, "how much sympathy one feels about the story" conveyed by character is one of the most significant element. "Sympathizing" is reacting to the emotion of character, which does not concentrate on visual phenomenon revealing from appearance and mise en scene, but from "conscious" establishing relationship from behavior and practice. In other words, it starts from in-depth insight regarding the types of conscious and relationship between characters. Therefore, this thesis aims to analyze the types of conscious of main character Simon of Japanese animation which was aired in Korea in 27 episodes, and analyze how it conducted meaning structuralization of relationship with surrounding characters in the growth process of every episode. When analyzing the animation, the study concentrated on analyzing the conscious formation process of character, completeness of relationship and structure rather than the plot or power of delivery of direction, to insist that animation should not only convey humor or fun but secure the in-dept self discernment.

A Study on the Gaze Flow of Internet Portal Sites Utilizing Eye Tracking (아이트래킹을 활용한 인터넷 포털사이트의 시선 흐름에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated through eye tracking what gaze path the audience searches through portal sites (Naver, Daum, Zoom, and Nate). As a result of the layout analysis according to the gaze path of the search engine, the four main pages, which can be called to be the gateway to information search, appeared in the form of a Z-shaped layout. The news and search pages of each site use an F-shape, which means that when people's eyes move from top to right in an F-shape, they read while moving their eyes from left to right(LTR), which sequentially moves to the bottom. As a result of analyzing through the heat map, gaze plot, and cluster, which are the visual analysis indicators of eye tracking, the concentration of eyes on the photo and head copy was found the most in the heat map, and it can be said to be of high interest in the information. The flow of gaze flows downward from the top left to the right, and it can be seen that the cluster is most concentrated at the top of the portal site. The website designer should focus on improving the accessibility and readability of the information desired by the user in the layout design, and periodic interface changes are required by investigating and analyzing the tendencies and behavioral patterns of the main users.

The Study to Suggest a Methods to Evaluate Heating and Cooling Energy Performance based on Daily Life (실생활기반 냉난방에너지 성능평가 방법 제안 연구)

  • With recent surge of attention to heating and air conditioning energy consumption, the need for evaluating performance of heating and air conditioning energy is also on the rise. This research aims to propose daily-life based evaluation method as an alternative to existing one, as well as to apply the method in real life to prove its validity. The results are as following. 1) I studied temperatures preferred by persons indoors and appropriate level of temperature, and the results show that properties of such persons such as age is directly linked with pleasantness of the room, but the issue lies with the fact that such properties are not considered in existing performance evaluation of heating and air conditioning. 2) Daily life based evaluation proposed herein reflects such properties of persons indoors. It controls heating / air conditioning devices installed in the test bed with the same size as a real life room to get quantitative and visual performances in our daily life as well as simple temperature information. 3) To verify validity of daily life based evaluation, I conducted different evaluation sessions with and without a blind and also based on ages of persons indoors. Results based on properties of persons showed difference of 77.6%, leading to effective analysis of energy consumption pattern by heating / air conditioning devices. This research takes significance in that it comes with a new performance evaluation method based on real life, and I gather that further studies are required to develop more multilateral performance evaluation in order to verify and improve technology for reduction of energy consumption.

Web Mining Using Fuzzy Integration of Multiple Structure Adaptive Self-Organizing Maps (다중 구조적응 자기구성지도의 퍼지결합을 이용한 웹 마이닝)

  • It is difficult to find an appropriate web site because exponentially growing web contains millions of web documents. Personalization of web search can be realized by recommending proper web sites using user profile but more efficient method is needed for estimating preference because user's evaluation on web contents presents many aspects of his characteristics. As user profile has a property of non-linearity, estimation by classifier is needed and combination of classifiers is necessary to anticipate diverse properties. Structure adaptive self-organizing map (SASOM) that is suitable for Pattern classification and visualization is an enhanced model of SOM and might be useful for web mining. Fuzzy integral is a combination method using classifiers' relevance that is defined subjectively. In this paper, estimation of user profile is conducted by using ensemble of SASOM's teamed independently based on fuzzy integral and evaluated by Syskill & Webert UCI benchmark data. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs better than previous naive Bayes classifier as well as voting of SASOM's.

  • This paper aims to develop a web based GIS system which is able to evaluate and visualize the overall degree (in terms of pleasantness and aesthetics) of pedestrian friendliness of the environment, as well as pedestrians' convenience through a Walkability Indicators that simplify pedestrian environment elements into a quantitative index in accordance with characteristics of pedestrian space. To make this goal come true, we developed and applied Walkability index which can measure the pedestrian environment through reflecting quantitative Indicators based on GIS supplementing the limit of Literature Review. In addition, in order to develop index we utilized AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and we displayed measurement result on study area through web GIS Services. The proposed pedestrian measurement system is expected to be applicable in the visualization of pedestrian movements and the evaluation of convenience levels of pedestrian environment.

A Study on the Tile Mural Decoration Design Using Colored Glass Plaster Technique (색유리 플래스터 기법을 이용한 타일 벽장식 방안 연구)

  • In modern life, interior decoration has been transformed into a psychological synergistic effect of space, greatly affecting human sensibility. The main point of view in this paper is to study the discovery of new decorative effects and the possibility of products that can replace imported tiles, which account for more than 60% of the walls of indoor spaces closely related to daily life. The solution is to create point tiles using color glass plaster techniques developed in 2018 and to explore the possibility of decorating art walls to meet consumers' purchasing needs using simulations. The four patterns applied to the a paintbrush, resist printing, cutting technique, and inlaid patterns, and the traditional color development effect of the medium color suited to our sensibilities was studied. In addition, through simulation, art walls and acrylic using color glass styles were also used in the kitchen, living room and empty space of the bathroom. Based on this research, ceramic point tiles with a new perspective will be explored and the interior using walls will be activated.

  • AGVs are often used in industrial applications to transport heavy materials around a large industrial building, such as factories or warehouses. In particular, in fulfillment centers their usefulness is maximized for automation. To increase productivity in warehouses such as fulfillment centers, sophisticated path planning of AGVs is required. We propose a scheme that can be applied to QMIX, a popular cooperative MARL algorithm. The performance was measured with three metrics in several fulfillment center layouts, and the results are presented through comparison with the performance of the existing QMIX. Additionally, we visualize the transport paths of trained AGVs for a visible analysis of the behavior patterns of the AGVs as heat maps.

  • 최근 수재해에 대응하기 위한 물관리 환경은 기후변화에 따른 홍수 피해 심화와 댐과 하천 시설의 노후화 점증, 하천관리일원화 등 정책적 변화, 그리고 포스트코로나 디지털 혁신 등 복합적 대전환 시대 진입에 따라 복잡다단한 양상을 보이고 있다. 디지털 트윈은 디지털 대전환(digital transformation) 시대 다양한 산업 영역에서 지능화와 생산성 향상을 목적으로 도입되고 있다. 본 국가 시범사업에서는 170 km에 달하는 섬진강 유역 전체를 대상으로 홍수에 대응하기 위한 디지털 트윈 플랫폼(K-Twin SJ)을 구축하고 있다. 본 플랫폼은 국가 인프라 지능정보화 사업의 일환으로 시작되었으며, 공간정보와 시설물 모델링, 홍수 분석 등 수재해에 대응하기 위한 수자원 분야의 다학제적인 강소기업들과 K-water에서 컨소시엄을 구성하여 추진하고 있다. 본 사업의 내용은 섬진강 댐-하천 유역에 대하여 고정밀도 3D 공간정보화, 실시간 물관리 데이터 연계, 홍수 분석 시뮬레이션, AI 댐 운영 최적화, AI 사면 정보 생성, 하천 제방 안전성 평가, AI 지능형 CCTV 영상분석, 간이 침수피해 예측, 드론 제약사항 조사 체계 개발을 포함하고 있다. 물관리 데이터와 하천 시설정보를 트윈 플랫폼 상에서 위치기반으로 시각화 표출하기 위해서는 유역의 공간정보를 3차원으로 구축하는 과정이 필수적이다. 따라서 GIS 기반의 섬진강 하천 중심 공간정보 구축을 위해 유역의 국가 정사영상과 5m 수치표고모형(DEM)은 최신성과를 협조 받아 적용하였으며, 홍수 분석을 위한 하천 중심 공간정보는 신규 헬기에 LiDAR 매핑을 수행하여 0.5m 급 DEM을 신규 구축하였다. 또한 하천 시설물 중 섬진강댐과 79개 주요 하천 횡단 교량과 3개 보 시설을 지상기준점 측량과 드론 매핑, 패턴 방식의 경량화 작업을 통해 트윈에 탑재할 수 있는 시설물 3D 객체 모델을 제작하였다. 홍수 분석을 위해서는 섬진강 유역에 대해 K-Drum, K-River, K-Flood 모델을 구축하였으며, AI 하천 수위 예측 학습 모델을 개발하였다. 섬진강 디지털 트윈 유역 물관리 플랫폼을 통해 데이터 기반의 똑똑한 물관리를 구현하고자 한다.

  • This study originates from the following critical mind; what will the office of the future be like? and what technology will we rely upon most to communicate with colleagues or to access business information. In the office environment today, new technology has compelled new work paradigm and has greatly affected the capabilities of the individual to work in a more productive and efficient manner. However, even though new computer technology has changed the business world so rapidly, it is very difficult to see the changes that have been taken place. As an aim of the study, creating a mobile tool for office workers that successfully supports their work and communication was explored, and this study explored future work environment with a 5 years technological and social perspective. As a result of this study, the bON brings new visions to the mobile professionals via various interfaces. The bON, a mobile device, is both a system of work and of communication for office workers. The bON, as an integrated tool for working and communicating, forms the basis for a mobile information gateway that is equally capable of functioning as a mobile desk. The basic underlying idea is that all formal meeting places and hallways in the office are equipped with large wall-mounted screens. The bON collaborates with these media in various ways to enhance productivity and efficiency. The main challenge for the bON to enhance both mobility and quality of information is using new technology including bendable and flexible display and soft material display and sensors. To answer for the strong needs for mobility, the whole size of the device is fairly small while the screen is rolled inside the device. For Graphical User Interface, moreover, a new technique called Multi-layering Interface was adopted to stretch user's visual limits and suggests new direction in designing mobile device, equipped with small size display.
