This study analyzed the visual images covering 'weather' and 'weather forecast' in elementary science textbooks from the Syllabus Period to the 7th national curriculum from the socio-semiotic perspective. The results showed that most of the visual images were 'realistic' which were descriptive of real world phenomena. This means that most of the visual images in elementary science text were familiar to students in every curriculum period. The power relationship in communication between images and students was very complex. The visual images in elementary science textbooks include few geometrical and alphanumeric code in every curriculum period. This study provides a new framework to interpret amount of information, functions of information, structures, and social meanings of visual images. It could be also a beginning stage to introduce the socio-semiotic perspective into choosing visual images for next science textbooks.

본 연구의 배경은 공공도서관 사인시스템의 현황과 지속적인 활용에 있다. 수많은 정보 중 필요한 정보를 선별하고 수용하는 것이 중요한 현대사회에서 사인시스템은 원만한 상호작용을 위한 주요수단이다. 특히 복잡한 구조와 공간의 기능을 함께 지니고 있는 도서관에서 정보를 파악하기 위해서 명확한 지각효과를 갖춘 사인의 역할은 무엇보다 중요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 이용자가 공공도서관을 이용할 때 어떠한 요소가 정보를 수용하고 시각적으로 인지하는데 많은 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 그리고 선정된 도서관을 대상으로 기능 및 시각적 요소에 따라 사례분석을 한 후 이용자 만족도 조사를 실시하여 효과적이고 편리하게 도서관을 이용할 수 있도록 정보를 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

트리는 실세계의 모델을 가시적으로 알기 쉽게 표현하기 위한 자료구조로서 자주 이용되어진다. 따라서 트리의 이해도와 판독성을 증가시켜 정보의 의미를 명확하게 전달하는 것음 매우 중요하다. 이를 위해서는 공간과 시각적 측면을 고려하여 적절한 노드의 위치 배정이 필요하다. Tilford는 최소면적의 공간에 트리를 보기 좋게 도시하는 알고리즘을 제시하였는데, 이는 트리의 전체적 구조가 왼쪽으로 치우칠 뿐 아니라, 도시시에 노드의 불필요한 이동이 많이 일어나는 등의 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 개선하여 트리를 도시하는 알고리즘을 제시한다.

본 논문은 컴퓨터 시각을 이용하여 동적 제스쳐를 인식하기 위한 효율적인 지식 표 현 기법의 개발을 목표로 한다. 제스쳐란 시각적인 언어로서 소리를 대신하여 몸짓이나 손 짓을 통하여 자신의 생각이나 의도를 전달하는 보조적인 의사 전달 수단이다. 제안된 기법 은 여러 다양한 지식을 통합하여 총체적으로 표현하기에 적합한 프레임 구조를 기반으로 한 다. 프레임 지식을 물체의 특성을 표현하는 객체 지식, 물체의 움직임을 표현하는 행동 지 식, 그리고 객체 지식과 행동 지식의 순서화 된 집함으로써 동적인 제스쳐를 표현하는 스키 마로 분류한다.

증강 현실이란 가상 세계와 현실 세계를 혼합하여 어떠한 정보를 제공하는 기술로 최근에 들어 증강현실을 스마트폰에 접목한 다양한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 교육 분야에 있어서도 증강 현실을 활용하여 시각적인 학습 효과를 제공하기 위한 다양한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 증강현실을 이용하여 효과적으로 컴퓨터 구조 교육을 실시할 수 있는 애플리케이션을 제안한다. 이를 통해 사용자들은 카메라 촬영만으로 컴퓨터를 구성하는 각 부품에 대한 상세한 정보를 시각적으로 제공받을 수 있다.

Information gathered through experience transforms into knowledge and such knowledge becomes a foundation for intuitive decisions. Based on such background, the following study investigates intuitive decision making on basic elements needed for design concepts and visual conceptualizations. The study consist two phases. first, 12 structural elements of a digital camera and relation between each elements were arranged intuitively on a board. Next, sketches were generated with relationship of structural elements in mind. As a result of the study, concept with intuitive decisions effect structural thinking, various developments, specific operation methods , and sketch expressions. However, study also revealed that the freedom of human emotions don't accord with the qualification map.

기존의 정보 추출에서는 웹 문서의 구조가 변경되었을 때 Wrapper가 원하는 정보를 추출할 수 없었다. 또한 웹 문서의 구조가 바뀌는 경우 동일한 정보를 Wrapping함에도 불구하고 사용자는 정보를 추출 할 수 없었던 이유를 찾지 못하는 경우가 대부분이었다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 Web 페이지를 시각적 블록 단위로 잘라 인접한 블록들을 통해 그래프를 형성하여 웹 문서의 구조가 일부 변경되어도 기존의 Wrapper를 통해 정보를 추출할 수 있도록 보다 효율적으로 Wrapper를 생성하고 유지관리 하는 방법을 제안한다. 또한 웹 문서를 블록 단위로 분할하여 그래프를 생성함으로써 블록 내부에 추출하고자 하는 정보에 대한 규칙이 좀 더 유연하게 표현 될 수 있으며 문서의 구조가 아닌 추출하고자 하는 정보를 중심으로 규칙을 생성함으로써 그래프의 구조뿐 아니라 그래프를 구성하고 있는 블록 내부의 구조가 일부 변하더라도 기존의 규칙을 이용하여 정보를 추출할 수 있도록 하였다.

과연 콘크리트 구조물에 있어서 누수 균열은 문제가 되는 것일까？ 이에 대해 설계, 구조 시공, 재료(콘크리트), 방수, 품질 및 안전의 관련 전문가는 여러 가지 이견을 말하고 있다. 또한 콘크리트 구조물에 관계하는 발주자, 건축주, 사용자, 시공자의 입장도 상황에 따라 다르게 해석하고, 평가하고 있다. 예를 들면 일반적으로 발주자(건축주 등)는 시공자에게 누수 균열은 하자이므로 무조건 보수할 것을 요구하는 반면 사용자(언론 포함)가 문제를 제기할 때(공공공사의 경우) 발주자는 이에 대해 크게 문제되지 않는다고 답변하는 경우도 많다. 어떤 기술자는 콘크리트의 누수 균열은 피할 수 없는 사항이므로 근본적으로 해결할 수 없으므로 완벽한 시공 및 보수는 어렵고, 다만 전체적인 누수량이 어느 정도 이하가 되도록만 관리할 뿐이라고 말하고, 또한 지하 구조물의 누수 균열은 피할 수 없어, 누수를 시각적으로 가리기 위한 보호벽을 쌓아 관리하는 것이 당연하다고 말하는 기술자도 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 일반 사용자들은 무조건 누수균열이 없어야 한다고 의견을 제시하고 있다. 특히 언론에 구조물 누수의 문제가 수시로 보도되어 관계자 및 관련 건설기술자들의 자존심이 크게 훼손되고, 이를 보수하기 위한 비용이 엄청나게 지출되고 있음을 볼 때 적당히 간과해서는 안될 문제임에는 틀림없다.(중략)

Visual messages are fundamental elements for performing communication and indicate the signs which are delivered from the communicator to the communicatee via channels, Generally, we can classify visual messages into two groups; linguistic factors which are rational and deliver abstract concepts and unlinguistic factors which are mental and can be expressed concretely. Especially, web site with receivers' low attention and concentration need images which can attract their attention to visual messages. That is, web site is a medium which allows us to feel visual and emotional experiences. We can call it a standard of sign systems which are consisted of various styles of digital texts. The main purpose of this study lies in that we'll analyze how homepage introductory page as one of the forms of digital text conduces a meaning action to the receivers and that we'll apprehend the structures of images and different types of signs via a semiotic approach and analyze the underlying meaning of the messages. In order to survey the structures of images we'll look into the attitude toward perceiving messages by using semantic differential method which has been developed mostly by Osgood and analyze the visual images by adopting sign types of Fuss. As the signification is created by combining signs, it is significant that we'll analyze the meaning of sings between the transmitters and receivers from the semiotic viewpoint and study the signification systems.

Based on the kinetic typography principle and the structure features of Chinese characters, this study took the Chinese'24 solar terms' theme dynamic poster as the research object, explored the visual expression of dynamic Chinese characters, and tried to summarize the visual expression law of Chinese characters in dynamic poster design. It can be found that, there could be 6 different types of Chinese character expressions in the 24 solar terms poster design. Among them, 'Drawing' design method has the meaning of text structure and form expression, and 'Assembling' design method has the meaning of text stroke and texture association, also, 'Forming' design method bring its meaning through stroke deformation, 'Transforming' design method conveys the content through text disintegration, 'Replacing' design method mainly bring the meaning through simulation, while 'Rotation' design method always express through visual three-dimensional and space. Finally, the findings could not only provide analytical logic and methods for the expression of Chinese characters in dynamic poster design, but also fill the lack of formative research on dynamic Chinese characters, which hopefully provide basic information for the research related to dynamic Chinese character structure, as well as the dynamic poster designers.
