The Homogenizing Effect of Sludge Oil by Repeated Vibration of Ultrasonic Transducer (초음파 진동자의 반복진동에 의한 슬러지유의 균질효과)

  • The sludge oils were produced necessarily in the ships operation, so that it will be the best way to manage the sludge oils inside ship itself from a viewpoint of the prevention of marine oil pollution from ship. The present study deal with the ultrasonic breaking systems which recycle the sludge oil from ships into usable oil to be burnt. The first place, experimental studies were carried out to investigate the homogenizing effect of the marine oils by repeated vibration of ultrasonic transducer. Variation of the properties(viscosity, specific gravity and pH) and the matrix structures for the environment of various marine oils were interpreted to analyze the breaking, dispersion effects by cavity. The experimental results can be useful to the development of sludge oil disposing systems.

폐슬러지를 이용한 SiC를 합성하기 위한 열역학적인 고찰

  • Si 웨이퍼제조 시 나오는 페슬러지에서 SiC 연마재와 절삭유를 분리해내면 Si 분말을 얻을 수 있다. 본 연구에서의 SiC는 폐슬러지 Si 분말에 C 분말을 혼합하여 제조할 수 있다. Si-C-O 3성분계는 Si, $SiO_2$, SiC, C 4개의 응축상과 CO, SiO, $CO_2$, $O_2$ 4개의 기체상이 가능하고 생성물들 간의 평형관계를 깁스 자유에너지에 의해 평형 반응식이 계산되어질 수 있다. 계산된 평형 반응식은 2개의 SiO, CO 분압이 각각 X, Y 좌표평면에 나타나는 상안정도를 그려볼 수 있다. 상안정도에서 자유도가 2인 경우는, $SiO_2$가 불안정하므로 SiC와 C가 공존하는 영역에서 온도를 독립 변수로 놓으면 나머지 독립 변수는 SiO 나 CO 기체 분압 둘 중 하나가 되어 하나의 직선으로 나타낼 수 있다. 직선을 경계로 각 응축상들의 안정영역을 하나의 좌표평면에 나타낸 후 온도에 따른 SiC의 안정영역을 알아본다.

  • 열화란 윤활유의 물리적, 화학적 성질이 변하면서 성능이 저하되는 현상을 말합니다. 물리적 변화는 연료유, 수분, 금속 등 이물질 혼입으로 발생되며 화학적 변화는 산화 현상이 대표적이며 슬러지 등을 발생합니다. 해경 경비함정은 장시간 항해, 해상조건등에 따라 엔진의 부하변동이 많습니다. 따라서 윤활유의 역할이 매우 중요합니다. 그러나 연료혼입 등으로 윤활유가 열화되면서 수명이 단축되게 됩니다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대표적 물리적 변화의 요인인 연료혼입를 실험적으로 고찰하고자 윤활유에 연료를 일정비율로 혼합하여 물성시험 등을 수행하였습니다. 실험결과 동점도는 윤활유에 점도가 낮은 연료유 혼입량이 증가함에 따라 점진적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였습니다.

The Effect of Solubilization Pretreatment Process on Anaerobic Digestion of Waste Activated Sludge (전처리 가용화 공정이 잉여슬러지 혐기성 소화효율에 미치는 영향)

  • COD properties of waste activated sludge (WAS) were investigated for various solubilization rate of mechanical pretreatment method in anaerobic digestion process. Inert COD was 37.0% of total COD in untreated WAS. Particulate biodegradable COD was converted to soluble biodegradables and particulate unbiodegradables as solubilization was processed. Particulate unbiodegradable portion of COD in WAS can be increased as particulate biodegradable portion is decreased in case of relatively long SRT of biological treatment. Thus, COD properties of WAS should be investigated in case of relatively low particulate biodegradable COD, because of possible low effect of solubilization. COD removal rate in anaerobic digester was enhanced as much as 2.1% and 15.1% for solubilization rate 5% and 35% due to pretreatment, respectively. COD removal rate was increased from 25% to 40%, and methane gas generation was increased from $607m^3/d$ to $907m^3/d$ as particulate COD of WAS was solubilized to 35% in pretreatment facilities.

A Study on the Development of Marine Fuel Oil Homogenizer for Fuel Costs Saving (연료비 절감을 위한 선박용 연료유 균질기 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we have conducted a work on homogenizer development which is operated by high shearing force generated by stator and rotor inside it. To investigate the performance for homogenization and atomization of homogenizer, Bunker-C (IFO 380 cSt) was used as a fuel for experiment. Pre-treatment of bunker-C was carried out with homogenizer developed in this study. Oil purifier was used to investigate effect of oil sludge reduction after pre-treatment. Experimental result showed that the amount of sludge of fuel oil after pre-treatment with homogenizer has decreased by 13 %. To confirm combustion efficiency, Bunker-C which have pre-treatment with homogenizer and purified after are burned in boiler system. The result showed that CO concentration in exhaust gas was decreased. These results mean that if the homogenizer which is developed in this study for marine fuel oil is applied on real vessels, oil costs and operating costs can be reduced.

  • Many investments and works being continued to preserve green ocean in each countries of the world. Especial1y, the researches on the prevention of marine oil pollution being strengthened. It is not easy to disclose sludge oils that were produced necessarily in the ships operation, so that they are transferred to shore treating facility after collected inside the ship's sludge tank mostly. However, this shore transferring method is not only costly and time consuming but also entails risk of oil pollution. In this regard, it will be the best way to manage the sludge oils inside ship itself. The purpose of this study is to device an ultrasonic breaking systems which recycle the sludge oil from ships into usable oil to be burnt. In this paper, the first place, matrix structures of sludge fuel oil(SFO) and sludge lubricating oil(SLO) with the irradiation time for ultrasonic vibrator were interpreted. And, erosion damage for vibrator horn tip which is one of important part of ultrasonic breaking systems was examined under such an environment of the sludge oils. The material for horn tip is being made of SS41 steel and its erosion phase was investigated with variation of the vibration amplitude of 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 24${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ as well as the change of temperature in the oil environments. It is suggested that the experimental results can be helpful to the development of sludge oil disposing systems for the vessel.

A Study on the Combustion Characteristics of Atomized Bunker oil by Homogenizer (균질기에 의해 미립화된 벙커유의 연소 특성 연구)

  • 고전단력을 갖도록 개발된 Homogenizer를 이용해 IFO 380cst Bunker-C 시료를 미립화 및 균질화하는 전처리를 시행하였다. 전처리된 시료의 슬러지 저감효과를 확인하기위하여 유청정기(oil purifier)를 이용하였고, 실험결과 약 13% 가량 슬러지 생성이 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 전처리 후 유청정기를 통과한 시료를 실제 보일러 시스템에서 연소시켜 연소 성능 특성을 확인한 결과 CO가 감소하는 경향을 확인하였다. 선박운항비용 분석을 통해 U.L.C.C 기준 연 8,800만원 가량의 연료비 절감 효과가 있을 것으로 추정된다.

Determination of Organic Polyelectrolyte Addition Method to Improve Dewaterbility of Alum Sludge (정수 슬러지의 탈수성 개선을 위한 고분자 응집제 조합주입 고찰)

  • Since polyelectrolytes have been used as conditioners, conventionally only a single polyelectrolyte has been added for sludge conditioning. However, the amount of polyelectrolyte needed for optimal conditioning of sludge is very critical. Overdosing reduces the sludge dewaterbility. In this experimental study, sludge conditioning with single or dual polyelectrolyte was conducted to avoid problems associated with overdosing. Single polyelectrolyte conditioning was conducted by one of cationic, nonionic, and anionic polyelectrolytes. The dual polyelectrolyte conditioning was performed by adding one polyelectrolyte and another one in sequence. The dewaterbility of sludges were measured by SRF(specific resistance to filtration), TTF(time to filter), CST(capillary suction time) respectively. Additionally, parameters such as turbidity, zeta potential, viscosity of conditioned sludges or supematant were measured to evaluate the changed characteristics of sludge by addition of polyelectrolytes. From the experiment results, it was concluded that single polyelectrolyte conditioning had a high probability of overdosing, whereas dual polyelectrolyte conditioning resulted in a better dewaterbility and less chance of overdosing. But, it was also found that dosing sequence in dual conditioning was very important according to the characteristics of sludge. Parameters such as viscosity, turbidity, zeta potential were found to be useful as a means of evaluating sludge dewaterbility.

Coupling Equation of Specific Resistance to Filtration(SRF) and Capillary Suction Time(CST) of Digested Sewage Sludge (소화슬러지의 비저항계수(SRF)와 모세관흡입시간(CST)의 상호관계식 유도 및 비교)

  • Capillary Suction Time(CST) and Specific Resistance to Filtration(SRF) were commonly used to evaluate the sludge dewatering behaviors. A coupled equation was developed through the mathematical theory which represented both CST and SRF as the physical filterability of the ultrasonically treated sludge. The model for coupling CST and SRF includes both equipment variables and variables related to sludge characteristics, and verified with the results from experiments. The results of the theoretical and experimental study showed that a good correlation relationship among dewaterability indices.

중금속이 칼슘설포알루미네이트의 클링커 반응 및 에트링자이트 생성에 미치는 영향

  • 유해 중금속을 다량 함유하고 있는 산업폐기물의 고화 처리에 사용되는 칼슘설포알루미네이트(4CaO$\cdot$$3Al_2O_3$$\cdot$$SO_4$이후부터 CSA로 기입) 의 제조를 위해 철강부산물인 압연 슬러지를 활용하여 그 특성에 대해 조사하였다. 본 연구에서는 철강 부산물인 압연슬러지 외에 석회석 미분물, 인산부산 석고를 혼합하여 칼슘알루미네이트상을 합성하였다. 합성 결과 소성온도 1250$^{\circ}C$에서부터 CSA가 합성되었고, 이와 함께 칼슘실리케이트 (2CaO$\cdot$$SiO_2$)와 칼슘알루미노페라이트(4CaO$\cdot$$Al_2O_3$$\cdot$$Fe_2O_3$)도 함께 합성되었다. CSA 합성에 미치는 중금속 영향을 관찰한 결과 원료의 중금속이 CSA 합성 온도를 낮추는 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. CSA를 이용한 철강산업 폐기물의 중금속 고용 처리 연구에서도 본 실험에서 합성된 CSA가 폐기물의 중금속 고화 처리에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
