This paper presents the results of an experimental study carried out Prestressed Concrete Slab System of WAffle Shape(WAS), was perfomed in order to inverstigate it connection shear behavior according to primary paramaters: connection interval, filling matarial. Specimen is produced in Precast Concrete factories and it comprised one WAS panel and two half WAS panels and then it is filled with packing. Within the ranges of the parameters of the connection details used in this test, connections can develop greater shear strength than the nominal shear strength and the design service load for parking structures.

To expedite construction of small precast concrete buildings using dry joints, this study developed and evaluated a connector system for solid slabs. The research included a comprehensive literature review on seismic design requirements for precast concrete floors, followed by an analytical evaluation of the connector's bearing capacity in 3-story buildings. Experimental assessments were conducted to determine the in-plane and out-of-plane capacities of the newly designed semi-circular connector. Finally, the constructability of both the semi-circular and flat connector configurations was compared through tests on single-story precast concrete frames.

The vertical members of structures are shortened as time goes on. Because structures have been high-rising and atypical there should be different axial loads among vertical members and it causes differential column shortenings. The differential column shortening add stresses to connections, make slab tilt, and damage to non-structural components. To reduce these influences compensation is need. The rational compensation means the exact expectation of amounts of column shortenings and the reasonable corrections. The expectation of column shortenings are more exact as researched, however, there is little research about the compensation. This paper presents the average correction method and the constraints for differential column shortenings considering errors due to the construction precision. The relations between constraints and the number of correction groups give an objective criterion for decision of constraints.

In the fabrication process of inverted multi-tee (IMT) slabs, concrete has to be poured twice due to its shape, which is a huge disadvantage as a precast member. To overcome this, a new technique for manufacturing IMT slabs using a slipform method has been recently developed. In this study, flexural and shear tests were carried out to investigate the structural performances of inverted multi-tee (IMT) slabs manufactured using slipform method. To this end, one flexural specimen and two shear specimens with topping concrete were fabricated, and their failure modes and crack patterns, and the slips that occurred between the precast slab and topping concrete were measured and analyzed in detail. In addition, the flexural and shear strengths of the specimens were evaluated by utilizing the structural design code, and a shear strength estimation method, which is suitable for composite IMT slabs with different concrete properties, was proposed for practical design. The IMT slab satisfied the nominal flexural strength calculated by the current design code, and the proposed method provided a good estimation of the shear strength of the specimens.

This paper summarizes experimental results for studying feasibility and structural behavior of' a half slab which is getting popularity in recent building construction in favour of the savings in manpower, coats, and construction period. 17 specimens were tested to investigate and analyze the flexural strength of precast concrete slab, half slab, and half slab-wall joint. The primary variables of the testing program were: thickness of precast concrete slab, truss mesh shape, and type of loadings. Test results show that the flexural strength of precast concrete slab in reverse loading is lower than the design strength, but the flexural strength of precast concrete slab, half slab and half slab-wall joint in direct loading is higher than the design srength. No horizontal cracks were found in the connection between insitu concrete and precast concrete slab. The flexural strength of half slab and half slab-wall joint was the same as that of reinforced concrete members. This study concludes that there will not be any structural problem in using a half slab reinforced by truss mesh if props spacing of 2.0m-2.5m, cleanness, and rough finishing between precast concrete and insitu concrete slab are kept.
In recent years, the investigation on the development of fiber reinforced plastic(FRP) Re-Bar has been greatly increased due to the attractive physical and mechanical properties of FRP. The primary reason of such a tendency is in the fact that it does not ordinarily cause durability problems such as those associated with steel reinforcement corrosion. This study is an experimental investigation on the flexural behavior of one-way concrete slabs, which can be used to construct bridge deck, reinforced with GFRP Re-Bar bundle. The tensile tests of GFRP Re-Bar produced by domestic industry and third point bending tests of one-way slab specimens reinforced with GFRP Re-Bar bundle are peformed. For all slab specimens, load-deflection relations are predicted by using the ACI committee 440 and the results are compared with experimental ones. In order to establish the design criteria or guidelines of concrete flexural member reinforced with FRP Re-Bar, it is needed to evaluate the serviceability limit state as well as the strength limit state.
Recently, as structures in Korea and other countries become much taller, larger, and more specialized, concrete used for constructions of these structures is required to have high performance characteristics. Especially, seismic performance of concrete must be improved to resist cyclic loading from earthquakes. Consequently, this study was performed to focus on developing optimal mixtures of high ductile fiber reinforced mortar with high ductility and durability, which have good serviceability, stability and reliability performances. Eventually, this material is expected to improve seismic performance of concrete structures such as load carrying capacity, ductility capacity, and energy dissipation capacity when applied to critical regions of flat plate slab-column joint. Ultimately, this research is intended to develop a material for basic designs and practical constructions of reinforced concrete structures. Test results showed that the maximum load carrying capacity, the ductility capacity, and the energy dissipation capacity of the test specimens titled RCFPP series were increased by 15%~34%, by 33%~37%, and by 2.14 times, respectively, compared to those of the standard specimen titled SRCFP.

The researches on the early-aged concrete hydration process and the techniques for the early-aged concrete crack control mainly have been focused and developed on the massive concretes in both experimental and numerical studies. However, those researches for relatively thin members such as the upper slab of the reinforced concrete rahmen bridge have nearly been attempted. In this study, a designing technique for crack controlling in the thin members of the early-aged reinforced concrete rahmen bridges based on measured temperature history, strength revelation model and sinkage model is proposed. A method of calculating the reinforcing bar area for crack controlling is also proposed and it is found that the distributing bars under the design loads become the main reinforcing bars in the temperature stress analysis of the early-aged reinforced concrete rahmen bridges. It is shown that the proposed analysis technique is able to use the design of crack control for the early-aged reinforced concrete rahmen bridge.

A numerical study using linear finite element analysis is performed to investigate the behavior of basement wall subject to soil and water pressure in this study, parametric studies are peformed to investigate the variation of moment and shear force according to column-to-wall stiffness ratios and aspect ratios. Scaled factors applicable to the design of basement wall are proposed with the illustration of design examples.
In structural design provision, maximum punching shear stress of slabs is prescribed as combined stress in direct shear occurred by gravity load and eccentric shear occurred by unbalanced moment. This means that the effect of unbalanced moment is considered to decide the punching shear stress. However, from the resistance capacity standpoint, the effect of unbalanced moment strength is not considered for deciding punching shear strength. In this paper, a model considering interrelation between unbalanced moment and punching shear was proposed. In the model, the relation between load effect and resistance capacity in unbalanced moment and punching shear was two-dimensionally expressed. Using the interrelation model, a method how unbalanced moment strength should be considered to decide the punching shear strength was proposed. Additionally, effective width enlargement factors for deciding the unbalanced moment strength of flat plates with shear reinforcements were proposed. The interrelation model proposed in this paper is very effective for the prediction of the behavior of slab-column connection because not only punching shear and unbalanced moment strengths but also failure modes of flat plates can be accurately predicted.
