  • Recently, sensorless induction motor drives have been much studied due to several advantages. Sensorless drives eliminate the additional mounting space, increase the reliability in harsh environments, and reduce the cost of a motor. This paper investigates an improved sliding mode observer for the sensorless speed control of an induction motor. The proposed control strategy is the sliding mode observer with a variable boundary layer for a low-chattering and fast-response control. The proposed sensorless-algorithm is verified through the simulation and experimentation.

  • An iterative sliding mode observer is proposed to sensorless control of a PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor). The proposed sliding mode observer has the character which is robust to the disturbance and parameters variation. A low pass filter with the variable cut-off frequency is also proposed to compensate the delay of the rotor angle according to the rotor speed, it is led to save memory and minimize operation time. Experimental results show that the proposed sliding mode observer leads to the proper performance.

  • We consider a single-input-single-output nonlinear system which can be represented in a normal form. The nonlinear system has a modeling uncertainties including the input coefficient uncertainties. A high-gain observer is used to estimate the states variables to reject a modeling uncertainty. A globally bounded output feedback integral sliding mode control is proposed to stabilize the closed loop system. The proposed integral sliding mode control can asymptotically stabilize the closed loop system in the it presence of input coefficient uncertainty.

  • The position information of the rotor are required while the SRG(Switched Reluctance Generator) is drived. The position information is generally provided by shaft encoder or resolver. But it is weak in the dusty, high temperator and EMI environment. Therefore, the sensor is able to required to eliminated from the SRG. In this paper, a estimation algorithm for the rotor position of the SRG is introducted and a constant DC-link voltage is controled by PID controller. The estimation algorithm is implemened by the adaptive sliding observer and that it is able to estimate the rotor position well is proved by the simulation.

  • This paper proposes a new speed and flux estimation method which has the robustness against the variation of the electrical parameters of the motor and the superiority in the dynamic characteristics. In the proposed method, the stator currents and the rotor fluxes are observed on the stationary reference frame using the sliding mode concept. And the rotor speed is estimated using the current estimation errors and the observed rotor fluxes based on the Lyapunov stability theory. Also a design method of the observer gain is proposed to minimize the effect of the speed estimation error on the rotor flux observation. The experimental results are shown to verify that the proposed method shows the excellent performances under the variations of motor resistance and inductance.

  • In this paper, the robust vector control method of Induction Motor for the purpose of improving the system performance deterioration caused by parameter variations is proposed. The full order state observer estimates the stator current and the rotor flux by using the state prediction of state variables. And, the motor speed is estimated without speed sensor using the full order state observer. Also, the parameter variation is compensate by the Sliding Observer. By using this method, speed sensorless control and current contol with no affection of the parameter variation can be obtained simultaneously.

  • This paper presents a sensorless speed control of a DC servo motor using a fuzzy-sliding observer in the presences of load disturbances. A fuzzy-sliding observer is proposed in order to estimate the speed of a motor rotor. First, a sliding observer is used to estimate the derivative of the armature current directly using the armature current mesured in the DC servo motor. Second, the optimal gain of the Luenberger observer is set up using the fuzzy control. Experimental results show the good performance in the DC servo motor system with the proposed fuzzy-sliding observer.

  • This paper presents a new speed and position sensorless control method of permanent magnet synchronous motors based on the sliding mode observer. Since the parameter of the dynamic equation such as machine inertia or viscosity friction coefficient are not well known and these values can be easily changed generally during normal operation, there are many restrictions in the actual implementation. The proposed adaptive sliding mode observer applies adaptive scheme so that observer may overcome the problem caused by using the dynamic equation. Furthermore, using the Lyapunov Function, the adaptive sliding mode observer can estimate rotor speed as well as stator resistance. The feasibility of the Proposed observer is verified cia the experiments.
