  • 본 스마트미디어의 증후군과 문제점 및 해결 방안에 제안했다. 스마트기기의 과다사용으로 거북목증후군, 손목터널, 디지털치매 증상이 나타내고 있다. 따라서 해결 방안으로 스마트미디어 사용을 줄이고, 몸과 마음을 쉬게 하고 스트레칭 등 운동과 쉼을 갖는 것을 예방 및 방안으로 제안한다.

  • 겨울철이 되면 추위를 피해 따뜻한 실내에서 생활하는 시간이 많아지므로 자연히 실외활동이 현저하게 줄어든다. 사람들이 실내로 모여들기 때문에 밀폐된 공간에는 미세한 먼지나 각종 오염물질로 넘쳐난다. 이것은 호흡기 질환에 쉽게 노출되어 있다는 것을 말한다. 하지만 우리의 몸은 뛰어난 적응력을 자랑하므로 규칙적인 운동과 충분한 휴식, 철저한 위생관리와 적절한 영양섭취를 통해 겨울철 질병에서 자유롭게 벗어날 수 있다.

The Effects of a Stretching Exercise Program in Elderly Women (여성노인에 대한 스트레칭운동프로그램의 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to identify the effects of a ten-week stretching exercise program on physiological, psychological functions, and activities of daily living(ADL) among elderly women. Methods: Using a quasi-experimental design, the experimental group received a ten-week stretching exercise program 3 times a week from March to May in 2002. They were divided into 22 persons in the experimental groups in 2 halls where the program was incorporated, and 22 persons in the control group in 2 halls, where the program wasnot incorporated. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistics, the chi-square test, Fisher's Exact test, and ANCOVA was considered significant as a 2-tailed test. Results: There was a significant improvement in diastolic blood pressure(P=0.023), total cholesterol (P=0.019), triglycerides (P=0.002), spine ROM(P=0.000), trunk and hip-joint ROM(P=0.000), percent of body fat(P=0.039) as physiological functions, depression(P=0.041) as a psychological function, and activities of daily living(P=0.001) in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: A stretching exercise program showed good effects on improving physiological functions, psychological functions and activities of daily living among the elderly women in a city. Therefore, we recommend this program be utilized as a health promoting program for the elderly in the community.

The effects of motorized flexion-distraction treatment on the lumbosacral region angle in patients with chronic low back pain (자동 굴곡-신연기법이 만성요통 환자의 요천추부 각도에 미치는 효과)

  • This study is to examine effects of motorized flexion-distraction treatment on the pain, lumbosacral angle, lumbar lordosis angle, and lumbar 5 (L5) intervertebral disc angle in patients with chronic low back pain. We selected 30 cases of chronic low back pain, which were evenly divided into two groups: experimental group and control group. We applied the same hot pack, interferential current therapy, and ultrasound therapy to both groups. The experimental group had additional treatment of motrized flexion-distraction therapy and control group had additional of stretching exercise. For each subject, the pain, lumbosacral angle, lumbar lordosis angle, and lumbar 5 (L5) intervertebral disc angle were measured before and after treatment, While experimental groups showed significant improvements after treatment, more significant effects were found in the experimental group.

  • Inversion therapy has been used to relieve backpain, decrease pressure on the discs between vertebrae and stretch musdes as early as 400 BC. Gravity Guidance Inversion Table was introduced in 1960's and has been commercialized mostly for relieving backpain. in United States. But this machine needs to adjusted and possible sudden movement can cause severe injury to the users. In the 1990's, motor assisted inversion cram was introduced in Germany. But this inversion cram is too heavy and inconvenient to be used at home. In these days, the inversion machine become popular equipment in fitness clubs and health care places for relieving backpain as well as stretching muscles. And there is a growing need for home use version of motorized inversion machine. In this study, the motorized inversion machine was developed to be used for stretching exercise at home. The design became compact, simple and foldable as the results of adapting the wabble mechanism. And the machines are optimally designed by analyzing the torques applied to the machine by diverse physical size of users.

The Effectiveness of Selected Stretching Exercise by Surface EMG on Backpain Patients (EMG 분석을 통한 요통환자의 스트레칭운동 프로그램 효과)

  • We selected six kinds of stretching exercises that can be easily acquired and put to practical use by back pain patients and arranged the practicing order of the exercising method after measuring the % MlVC of the muscle power when a normal person was exercising with a surface EMG. Among the patients complaining of back pain, 20 case groups were given the selected exercise and physical therapy, and 20 control groups were only given a physical therapy. Before and 2 weeks, 4weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks after the exercise therapy, a muscle power was measured with a fitness machine and the effectiveness of the exercise was compared. After six weeks difference of the muscle power between the case group and control group was shown, and after 8weeks the case group manifested the stronger muscle power than that of the control group in both male and female. Exercising therapy clearly seems to be helpful in strengthening the muscle power of the back pain patients.

Comparative Study of the Effects of Stretching Exercise and Aquatic Exercise Program (골관절염 관리를 위한 스트레칭운동과 수중운동 프로그램의 효과 비교)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of stretching exercise and aquatic exercise program on flexibility, pain and quality of life (QoL) in patients with osteoarthritis. Methods: Fifty elderly women were assigned either to the stretching exercise (SEG, n=25) or to the aquatic exercise groups (AEG, n=25) after 6-week self-help education program. SEG carried out supervised stretching exercise and water exercise training program was conducted by AEG (60 min/day, 2 days/wk) for 8 weeks. Flexibility, pain, and quality of life were measured by Senior Fitness Test Manual (Rikli & Jones, 2gr5), pain rating scale (0-10) and the questionnaire by World Health Organization Quality of Life BREF (Min et al., 2gr0), respectively. Results: Both SEG (all, p&H;.05) and AEG (all, p&H;.05) increased left upper and lower-body flexibility, measured by a measuring tape. Pain significantly decreased both in SEG (p=.000) and AEG (p=.004). Quality of life was significantly improved only for the SEG. Conclusion: The 8-week stretching exercise program would significantly improve flexibility, pain control and QoL in patients with osteoarthritis.

Composition of Visit-customized Movement Program Utilizing Care Workers for the Home-cared Elderly with Dementia (방문요양보호사를 활용한 재가 치매노인대상 방문 맞춤형 움직임 프로그램 구성요소)

  • The purpose of this study was to consider composition of the movement program for the elderly with dementia to develop visit-customized movement program. For the study, 20 experts were selected including 8 dance therapists, 2 dementia-specialized doctors, 5 physical education leaders of the elderly, and 5 geriatric care helpers. First Delphi data, which listed items, was used to analyze content. Second and third Delphi questionnaires, which evaluated importance in Likert scale, was used to calculate content validity rate, average, standard deviation, quartile, convergence degree, and concurrence degree of each composition. 46 core composition of movement program for the elderly, which were selected and highlighted by the experts, were departmentalized into 6 considered compositions of movement program. 7 required composition of movement program, 1 Appropriate frequency of 3 times in a week and 1 30 minutes for each exercise, 1 operation method, 5 appropriate exercise of rhythm expression, 4 appropriate aerobic exercise, 4 appropriate muscle exercises, 5 appropriate stretches, 3 appropriate partner exercises 4 Appropriate massages, 5 appropriate tools
