  • Various stress exists in a modern society, which requires constant competition and improvement. A person under stress often shows his pressure in his facial expression and language. Therefore, it is possible to measure the pressure using facial expression and language analysis. The paper proposes a stress measurement system using facial expression and language sensitivity analysis. The method analyzes the person's facial expression and language sensibility to derive the stress index based on the main emotional value and derives the integrated stress index based on the consistency of facial expression and language. The quantification and generalization of stress measurement enables many researchers to evaluate the stress index objectively in general.

  • The levels of psychosocial stresses and fatigue of firemen were analyzed to reveal the various factors related to them. The self-administered questionnaires were performed to 262 firemen ill Cheonsju City. In terms of various levels of psychosocial stresses, 12.2% were under potential stresses, 87.8% were under high-level of stress, but healthy group was not found. The levels of fatigue symptoms divided by the median of total scores was 51.1% of low levels, and 48.9% of high levels. Multiple stepwise analysis revealed that the factors or influence on psychosocial stresses with explanatory powers of 11.5% included subjective health status, job satisfaction, job demand and alcohol drinking habits. The factors of influence on fatigue symptoms with explanatory powers of 9.0% included subjective health and regular exercises. The study results indicate that the level of stress or fatigue is so complicatedly influenced by variable factors. Thus the effective strategy for stress and fatigue reduction among firemen should include additional programs focusing on health promotion.

  • This paper studied the causes of job stress of driving crews working in Metropolitan Transit Authorities in Daejeon, Daegu, Seoul Metro Line 9, and Incheon, analyzing psychological, physical, and environmental factors, along withdriving crews' assignments. Regarding driving crews' assignments, it was found that driving crews had strong senses of obligation for their job, and hence their aptitude for their job was in accordance, and also it was found that most driving crews worked devotedly with a desirable occupational view and pride. However, psychological and physical factors that contributed to stress were identified: lack of sleep, high task burden, physical fatigue, and boring daily life. Furthermore, the driving crews' irregular working conditions and irregular meal time and burden related to on-time transit service with prolonged immobilization raised their stress levels. In terms of external environmental factors, it was found that driving crews' anxiety due to possible accidents caused a roughly four-fold increase in stress levels compared to other factors. Furthermore, personnel system and salary issue were also found to be closely related to the driving crews' job stress.

  • This study is aimed at analyzing the relationship between personal factors of radiological technologists and their job stressors. For this aim, a survey was conducted by means of 890 questionnaires from the middle of July to the end of August 2003 to the subjects of radiological technologists who are working for 44 general hospitals in 16 cities and provinces across the country. The results of the survey could be summed up as follows: 1. The biggest stressor that affects a radiological technologist personally under the working situation turned out to be position, job satisfaction and physical symptom(p<0.001), while job satisfaction and physical symptom also played an important role in personal relationship(p<0.001). 2. In terms of job conflicts, colleagues, immediate seniors, job satisfaction and physical symptoms appeared to exercise great impact(p<0.001), As for job autonomy, age, position and job satisfaction were known to be heavily influential(p<0.001). 3. With regard to job load, job satisfaction and behavioral symptom turned out to have great influence while, in job stability, position and job satisfaction seemed to be immensely influential(p<0.001). The present study has a limit in that it covers only radiological technologists who are working at the 3rd reference hospitals but excludes those who are working at the first and second reference hospitals. The findings, however, are surely believed to be able to serve as basic data to improve the medical service quality as they will help reduce the stressors of and enhance mental and physical health for radiological technologists who play important roles as teammates with expertise in the medical field. These outcomes could also be referred to in future studies in this area.

It factually verifies how the job stress perceived by the members affect on presenteeism and examines factors to alleviate presenteeism, in addition, tests moderating effects based on the core self-evaluations and team climate. Research results reveal, first of all, that influencing relationship which job stress increases presenteeism exists. Second, core self-evaluations control the relationship between job stress and presenteeism, which means the stronger subconscious to oneself is the more it relieve the relationship between job stress and presenteeism. Third, team climate partially contolled the relationship between job stress and presenteeism. Atmosphere with clearer performance responsibility has better controlling effect to alleviate the relationship between job stress and presenteeism. Within the team climate, subordinate variables determine the effect on the presenteeism relationship. Significances and limitations of this research was discussed at the last.

  • This study aims to suggest the direction for improving the mental health of married women by analyzing the relationship between married women's life stress, life satisfaction, self-elasticity, and coping stances. For this study, 200 married women in their 30s~60s living in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do were surveyed on January 2~15, 2020, and the results were analyzed using multiple regression and regression analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that the main causes of life stress felt by married women were economic problems, relationships with their children, and conflict between mother in law and daughter in law. By analyzing the relationship with life satisfaction, it turned out that life stress had a relationship with life satisfaction, which affected the decline in their life satisfaction. In addition, it was verified that the self-elasticity and coping stances had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between the life stress and life satisfaction of married women. Accordingly, improving self-elasticity and coping stances will likely reduce the life stress of married women and boost their life satisfaction.

  • This study is to suggest conditions for mitigating techno-stress due to the adoption of the knowledge management system(KMS). Specifically, the study suggests that techno overload and techno complexity are negative factors on the intention to use KMS, and suggests that authentic leadership and feedback mitigate techno-stress. We conducted an online survey in May 2021 of employees in organizations that applied KMS, and obtained 417 samples. We performed the structural equation modeling of AMOS 22.0 for hypothesis testing and analyzed the main effect and the moderating effect. The result is as follows. First, techno overload and techno complexity reduced the intention to use the KMS. Second, authentic leadership increased the intention to use the KMS and mitigated techno overload and techno complexity. Third, feedback moderated the negative relationship between techno-stress and intention to use the KMS. The study has implications from the perspective of suggesting the strategic direction (authentic leadership and feedback) at the organizational level for mitigating techno-stress, which may be a problem when introducing and applying a KMS from the perspective of organization employees.

  • The use of smartphone improves convenience and efficiency in modern people's lives but threatens the mental health of individuals by manifesting an addiction phenomenon that is difficult for everyday life without a smartphone. In particular, it is suggested that the effects of the smartphone addiction of firefighters who have a high level of job stress due to work environment exposed to disaster and fire have a very negative effect on their personal well-being and job performance. Therefore, the analysis of the relationship between firefighters' smartphone addiction and stress will be helpful in examining the problems of stress management. This study analyzed the relationship and influence between smartphone addiction and stress of firefighters. Total study subjects were 230 and SPSS 20.0 was used. Statistical methods are group analysis (t-test and ANOVA) and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study show that firefighters' household type and monthly income have a significant effect on stress. Of the sub-factors of smartphone addiction, withdrawal experience has a statistically significant effect on stress. The results of the study will provide empirical data on the smartphone addiction of fire service employees.
