Stereo Image Blind Watermarking Scheme based-on Discrete Wavelet Transform and adaptive Disparity Estimation (웨이블릿 변환과 적응적 변이 추정을 이용한 스테레오 영상 블라인드 워터마킹)

  • In this paper, a new stereo image watermarking scheme based-on adaptive disparity estimation algorithm is proposed. That is, a watermark image is embedded into the right image of a stereo image pair by using the DWT and disparity information is extracted from this watermarked right image and the left image. And then, both of this extracted disparity information and the left image are transmitted to the recipient through the communication channel. At the receiver, the watermarked right image is reconstructed from the received left image and disparity information through an adaptive matching algorithm. a watermark image is finally extracted from this reconstructed right image. From some experiments using CCETT's 'Manege' and 'Friends' images as a stereo image and English alphabet '3DRC' as a watermark image, it is found that the PSNRs of the watermarked image from the reconstructed right images through the adaptive matching algorithm & DWT is improved 2.03 dB, 3.03 dB and robusted against various attacks. These experimental results also suggest a possibility of practical implementation of an adaptive matching also-rithm-based stereo imagewatermarking scheme proposed in this paper.

Stereo Object Tracking System using Multiview Image Reconstruction Scheme (다시점 영상복원 기법을 이용한 스테레오 물체추적 시스템)

  • In this paper, a new stereo object tracking system using the disparity motion vector is proposed. In the proposed method, the time-sequential disparity motion vector can be estimated from the disparity vectors which are extracted from the sequence of the stereo input image pair and then using these disparity motion vectors, the area where the target object is located and its location coordinate are detected from the input stereo image. Basing on this location data of the target object, the pan/tilt embedded in the stereo camera system can be controlled and as a result, stereo tracking of the target object can be possible. From some experiments with the 2 frames of the stereo image pairs having $256\times256$ pixels, it is shown that the proposed stereo tracking system can adaptively track the target object with a low error ratio of about 3.05 % on average between the detected and actual location coordinates of the target object.

Non-rigid 3D Shape Recovery from Stereo 2D Video Sequence (스테레오 2D 비디오 영상을 이용한 비정형 3D 형상 복원)

  • The natural moving objects are the most non-rigid shapes with randomly time-varying deformation, and its types also very diverse. Methods of non-rigid shape reconstruction have widely applied in field of movie or game industry in recent years. However, a realistic approach requires moving object to stick many beacon sets. To resolve this drawback, non-rigid shape reconstruction researches from input video without beacon sets are investigated in multimedia application fields. In this regard, our paper propose novel CPSRF(Chained Partial Stereo Rigid Factorization) algorithm that can reconstruct a non-rigid 3D shape. Our method is focused on the real-time reconstruction of non-rigid 3D shape and motion from stereo 2D video sequences per frame. And we do not constrain that the deformation of the time-varying non-rigid shape is limited by a Gaussian distribution. The experimental results show that the 3D reconstruction performance of the proposed CPSRF method is superior to that of the previous method which does not consider the random deformation of shape.

  • 본 논문은 움직이는 거울을 사용하여 얻은 물체의 영상에서 물체의 3차원을 실시간에 복원하는 능동적 비전(active vision) 시스템을 제안한다. 거울을 사용한 기존의 스테레오 시스템에서는 거울들과 카메라가 고정되어 있어 물체의 부분적인 3차원 복원만이 가능한 반면, 제안하는 시스템은 거울에 의해 생성되는 두 개의 소실점을 이용함으로써 항상 실시간 카메라 보정이 가능하며, 간단하게 거울에 맺힌 영상들간의 대응점을 찾음으로써 물체의 3차원 복원이 가능하다.

  • In the real world, there are both dynamic objects and static objects, but an autonomous vehicle or mobile robot cannot distinguish between them, even though a human can distinguish them easily. It is important to distinguish static objects from dynamic objects clearly to perform autonomous driving successfully and stably for an autonomous vehicle or mobile robot. To do this, various sensor systems can be used, like cameras and LiDAR. Stereo camera images are used often for autonomous driving. The stereo camera images can be used in object recognition areas like object segmentation, classification, and tracking, as well as navigation areas like 3D world reconstruction. This study suggests a method to distinguish static/dynamic objects using stereo vision for an online autonomous vehicle and mobile robot. The method was applied to a 3D world map reconstructed from stereo vision for navigation and had 99.81% accuracy.

High efficient vision system for volumetric display (입체영상 디스플레이를 위한 고효율 비젼 시스템)

  • Volumetric display has many applications recently in education, 3D movie, medical images but these applications have several problems that need to be overcome. Volumetric display may process a amount of visual data and design the high efficient vision system for realtime display. The stereo data for volumetric display estimated the disparity vectors from the stereoscopic sequences has been transmitted the disparity vectors, motion vectors and residual images with the reference images, and the stereoscopic sequences have been reconstructed at the receiver for 3D display. Central issue for efficient 3D display lies in selecting an appropriate stereo matching with robust vision system. In this paper, high efficient vision system is proposed for efficient stereo image matching and the experimental results represent high efficiency for proposed 3D display system.

  • This paper proposes a new 3D image transmission technique using digital watermarking for compatibility with conventional 2D digital TV. To transmit 3D images effectively, generally, we use image sequence transmission using temporal-spatial redundancy between stereo images. It is difficult for users with conventional digital TV to watch the transmitted 3D image sequence because of effectivity of 3D image compression. To improve such problem, in this paper, we perceive the concealment of new information of digital watermarking and conceal information of the other stereo image into three channels of the reference image. So we can watch the image with 3D TV as well as conventional digital TV when it is decoded.

  • 정보통신 기술이 급격히 발달함에 따라 영상처리 및 압축 기술에 대한 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 현재 정지 압축 영상 표준인 JPEG과 동영상 압축 표준인 MPEG에서는 통계적 특성에 기반한 DCT 방법을 이용하여 압축을 수행하고 있다. 최근에는 웨이브렛 변환을 이용한 영상신호 처리 및 압축에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있는데, 이는 기존의 DCT 방법과는 달리 속도와 압축률이 뛰어나며 블록화 현상(Blocking Effect)이 발생하지 않기 때문이다. 또한 웨이브렛 자체가 함수이고 이러한 함수에 다른 스케일과 해상도를 적용하는것이므로, 영상을 확대하거나 축소하더라도 이미지에 손상을 주지 않고 복원할 수 있다. 스테레오 이미지는 사람의 시각에서 물체를 보는 것처럼, 카메라에서 같은 장면을 약간의 차이를 두어 찍은 것이다. 따라서 오른쪽과 왼쪽의 두 이미지로 나누어지게 되는데, 이 두 이미지 사이에서 공통 부분이 많다는 특징을 가지게 된다. 따라서 두 이미지의 공통 부분을 찾아 내고, 이를 이용하여 압축을 할 수 있다면 압축률을 높일 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 웨이브렛 변환을 이용하여 스테레오 이미지에서의 공통 부분을 찾고 영상을 효율 岵막\ulcorner 압축하는 방법에 대하여 연구한다.

  • 스테레오 영상으로부터 3차원 구조를 복원하기 위해서는 깊이맵에 해당하는 시차맵을 생성해야 한다. 시차맵 생성을 위해서는 정합비용을 계산하고, 집성한 후에 시차를 계산하는 절차로 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 스테레오 영상으로부터 빠르고 안정된 시차맵을 생성하기 위해서 후처리 과정으로 각 스캔라인에 대해서 분산을 이용하여 세그멘테이션을 한 후에 세그멘테이션 별로 평균을 내어 객체간의 구분을 명확히 한다. 조밀 시차맵을 생성하기 위해서는 시차 계산에 실패한 화소들에 대해서도 시차를 계산해야 하는데 본 논문에서는 간단하게 인접 화소의 값을 복사하는 방법으로 홀을 메우는 방법을 제안한다. 실제 환경에서의 다양한 스테레오 영상에 대한 실험 결과들은 제안된 시차맵 생성과 홀을 메우는 방법이 기존의 시차맵 생성 기법만큼 빠르고 기존의 방법보다 좀더 안정적이고 다양한 컴퓨터 비전 시스템응용에 적용될 수 있음을 보여준다.

Volumetric Image System for High Efficiency Video Coding (고효율 비디오코딩을 위한 입체영상시스템)

  • Volumetric image system has many applications recently in education, 3D movie, medical images but these applications have several problems that need to be overcome. Volumetric display may process a amount of visual data and design the high efficient vision system for realtime display. In case of stereo system for volumetric display motion vectors, disparity vectors from the stereoscopic sequences and residual images with the reference images has been transmitted, and the stereoscopic sequences have been reconstructed at the receiver for volumetric display. So central issue for the design of efficient volumetric image system lies in selecting an appropriate stereo matching and robust vision system. In this paper, we proposed high efficient vision system, which design vision stage with rotating and moving horizontally, and match the successive stereo image efficiently. In experimental results with volumetric image system, the proposed method represents high efficiency with minimizing error and low computational load for volumetric display.
