A Design of Wideband Eccentric Annular Ring Microstrip Antenna (비동심 링 구조 광대역 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계)

  • This paper proposed an eccentric annular ring microstrip antenna which has an asymmetric slot and a tuning stub for improving bandwidth and size of the circular microstrip patch antenna. The field characteristics of the eccentric annular ring microstrip antenna have been calculated by using the method of FDTD (finite difference time domain). The calculated results showed good agreement with the measured results. As a result of measurement, the antenna size and the bandwidth has been improved to that of 12.2 % and 4.8 % respectively, comparing to circular microstrip patch antenna.

  • In this paper, we propose the CPW antenna with a spiral geometry for miniaturization. Widths of a spiral line are constant, and three stubs are added to broaden bandwidth. Proposed antenna is designed. Lengths and widths of three stubs are gradually changed and optimized.

  • This paper presents several modeling methods to analyze the stub-girder system, testifies those methods base on actual test results for the behavior of the simply supported stub-girder system, and finally, by changing the boundary conditions in those models, predicts the behavior of the fixed end stub-girder system. Two different methods are used for the structural modeling. In the first method, the stub-girder is modeled as a vierendeel truss girder, and in the second method, as a finite element model. Both methods use the finite element analysis software package LUSAS™ for linearly elastic analyses and nonlinear analyses.

  • In the structural analysis, artificial neural networks as a parallel computational model that is similar to the human brain and can self-organize complex nonlinear relationships without making assumptions is introduced. The purpose of this paper is to develop the Neural Network for Approximate Structural Analysis(NNASA) to predict the behaviour of the stub-girder system. As an initial stage, the paper presents the development of the prototype of NNASA based on the problem related to the deflection of a simple beam, and shows the verification of this model by two examples.

  • 불연속 전송선로를 해석하기 위한 유용한 방법으로서 유한요소법이나 공간도메인법등과 같은 주파수영역 해석법과 선로제작에 기초한 파라미터 측정법등이 사용된다. 시간영역의 유한차분법은 한번의 모의실험을 통해 주파수 의존적인 파라미터값을 구할수있어 불연속선로를 해석하는데 매우 효과적이다. 본 논문에서는 마이크로 스트립에 기초한 몇가지 형태의 2 포트 불연속 회로망 즉, 케스케이된 스텝 불연속 선로와 레이스트렉 지연선 및 단일 스터브 필터에 대한 정확한 모델링과 해석을 위하여 시간영역의 유한차분법의 적용방법이 논의된다. 2 포트 회로망으로 구성된 평면형 마이크로 스트립 불연속선로를 해석하기 위하여 일반적으로 분산 파라미터에 기초한 해석절차가 사용된다. 주파수 의존적인 분산 파라미터는 시간영역의 유한차분법에 의해 모니터된 입사, 반사 및 투과된 전압으로 부터 고속푸리에 변환을 통해 얻어지고, 또한 그 결과를 공간-스펙트랄 방법 및 모멘트 방법의 결과와 비교함으로써 시간영역의 유한차분법이 다양한 형태의 불연속 선로에 성공적으로 적용됨을 볼 수 있다.

  • A broadband microstrip balun is proposed and designed using a ${\lambda}/4$short-stub in order to compensate phase imbalance. For the demonstration, two baluns are proposed and designed using a ${\lambda}/4$ shorted stub. One is a modified form of the conventional Wilkinson balun, and the other is a modified ring hybrid. Baluns are implemented on TLX-9 substrate of which the dielectric constant is 2.54 and the thickness is 0.5mm. The measurements show a bandwidth of 500MHz at the center frequency of 2GHz.

A Low-pass filter design for suppressing the harmonics of 2.4GHz RFID tag (2.4GHz RFID 태그용 고조파 억제를 위한 저역통과필터의 설계)

  • In the RFID system using ISM-band, The tag mounted at the object has used the DC power by rectifying the RF signals of the small antenna for operating the micro-controller and memory. The performance of the tag would be reduced because of the second harmonics generated by the nonlinearity of the semiconductor and the spurious signal excited the high order mode of the antenna. This paper has realized the novel type low-pass filter with "the Stub-I type DGS slot structure" to improve the efficiency of the tag by suppressing the harmonics. The optimized frequency character at the pass-band/stop-band has obtained by tuning the stub width and slit width of I type slot. The measured result of the LPF has the cutoff frequency 3.25 GHz, the insertion loss about -0.29~-0.3 dB at pass-band 2.4 GHz~2.5 GHz, the return loss about -27.688~-33.665 dB at pass-band with a good performance, and the suppression character is about -19.367 dB at second harmonics frequency 4.9 GHz. This DGS LPF may be applied the various application as the RFID, WLAN to improve the efficiency of the system by suppressing the harmonics and spurious signals. 

Experimental Study on Hysteretic Behavior of 100 MPa Ultra High-Strength Concrete Tied Columns (100 MPa 초고강도 콘크리트 띠철근 기둥의 이력거동에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • An experimental investigation was conducted to examine the hysteretic behaviors of ultra-high strength concrete tied columns. The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety of ultra-high strength concrete columns with 100 MPa compressive strength for the requirement of ACI provisions. Eight 1/3 scaled columns were fabricated to simulate an 1/2 story of actual structural members with the cross section $300{\times}300mm$ and the aspect ratio 4. The main variables are axial load ratio, configurations and volumetric ratios of transverse reinforcement. The results show that the deformability of columns are affected by the configurations and volumetric ratios of transverse reinforcement. Especially, it has been found that the behavior of columns are affected by axial load ratio rather than the amounts and the configurations of transverse reinforcement. Consequently, to secure the ductile behavior of 100 MPa ultra-high strength concrete columns, ACI provisions for the requirement of transverse steel may considered axial load level and the details of transverse reinforcement.

Characteristics for High Efficiency and Wideband Band Pass Filter Using Rectangular Resonator and Step-Impedance-Open-Stubs (구형 공진기와 계단 임피던스 개방 스터브를 사용한 고효율 광대역 대역 통과 필터 특성)

  • This paper presents a compact, low insertion loss, sharp rejection and wide band microstrip band pass filter that is composed rectangular loop resonator and Step-Impedance-Open-Stub(SIOS). The SIOS can be reduce length about 30 % more than general 0.25 $\lambda$ open stub. And the stub can the advantage of tuning impedance magnitude. In order to demonstrate agrement of this paper prove, the optimized wide band pass filters are realized and experimented. A transmission line model used to calculate the frequency response of the new filters shows good agreement with measurements. The filter has 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 51.75 %(3.206 GHz), an insertion loss of better than 0.44 dB from 4.587 GHz to 7.793 GHz, and two rejection of greater than 30 dB within 221 MHz($4.326{\sim}4.587\;GHz$) at low frequency band, 181 MHz($7.739{\sim}7.954\;GHz$) at high frequency band. Maximum rejection characteristics of the filter are -61.8 dB at low frequency and -76.3 dB at high frequency.

Fabrication and characterization of the 0.25 ${\mu}m$ T-shaped gate P-HEMT and its application for MMIC low noise amplifier (0.25 ${\mu}m$ T형 게이트 P-HEMT 제작 및 특성 평가와 MMIC 저잡음 증폭기에 응용)

  • o.25${\mu}m$ T-shaped gate P-HEMT is fabricated and used for design of X0band three stage monolithic microwave integrated circuit(MMIC) low noise amplifier(LNA). The fabricated P-HEMT exhibits an extrinsis transconductance of 400mS/mm and a drain current of 400mA/mm. The RF and noise characteristics show that the current gain cut off frequency is 65GHz and minimum noise figure(NFmin) of 0.7dB with an associated gain of 14.8dB at 9GHz. In the design of the three stage LNA, we have used the inductive series feedback circuit topology with the short stub. The effects of series feedback to the noise figure, the gain, and the stability have been investigated to find the optimal short stub length. The designed three staage LNA showed a gain of above 33dB, a noise figure of under 1.2dB, and ainput/output return loss of under 15dB and 14dB, respectively. The results show that the fabricated P-HEMT is very suitable for a X-band LNA with high gain.
