Sketch effect generating technique based on real painting analysis (실제 작품 분석에 기반한 스케치 효과 생성 기법)

  • Various digital contents generation techniques are widely utilized by upgrading PC and mobile device. In this paper, we propose sketch effect simulation based on real drawing pieces. For this, we analyze Vincent Van Gogh's drawing pieces; and then construct DB by extracting sketch stroke pattern of each object. From this database, we select stroke pattern at each object, and then, apply it. Our algorithm can generate similar effect look like real drawing piece. It may be utilized various contents such as children's painting education book.

  • 본 논문에서는 타블렛을 이용해 사용자로부터 주름 스케치를 입력받아 피부 패턴을 고려한 사실적인 얼굴 주름을 생성 할 수 있는 인터페이스를 제안한다. 주름을 생성하고 싶은 모델의 normal map에 간단한 스케치를 하면 해당 모델의 피부 패턴을 고려해 스케치를 주름으로 생성해준다. 또한, 얼굴 부위별 주름 형태를 분석하여 부위별 생성되는 주름의 형태가 다르고, 나이 설정을 통해 나이에 맞는 잔주름 및 주름 형태를 변형 한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법을 이용한 주름 생성 방식은 주름에 대한 자세한 지식이 없는 사용자라도 간단한 스케치만 한다면 자동 계산을 통해 실시간으로 주름을 생성해주며, 얼굴 패턴에 따른 사실적인 주름이 생성되는 결과를 보여준다.

  • The service that has recently come into the spotlight utilizes the map to first approach the map and then provide various mash-up formed results through the interface. This service can provide precise information to the users but the map is barely reusable. The sketch-map system of this paper, unlike the existing large map system, uses the method of presenting the specific spot and route in XML document and then clustering among sketch-maps. The map service system is designed to show the optimum route to the destination in a simple outline map. It is done by renovating the spot presented by the map into optimum contents. This service system, through the process of analyzing, splitting and clustering of the sketch-map's XML document input, creates a valid form of a sketch-map. It uses the LCS(Longest Common Subsequence) algorithm for splitting and merging sketch-map in the process of query. In addition, the simulation of this system's expected effects is provided. It shows how the maps that share information and knowledge assemble to form a large map and thus presents the system's ability and role as a new research portal.

A Study of Middle School Students' Perception regarding Territorial Identity: Assessing their Freehand Sketch Maps of Territory, National Border, and Neighboring Countries (중학생의 영토정체성에 관한 연구 -스케치맵에 나타난 영토, 국경, 이웃한 나라에 대한 인식을 바탕으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine and better understand student's perception of territory in the deterritorialized world. Students' sketch maps were analyzed to investigate the way of which they recognized the form of national territory, border, geographic location, and neighboring countries. In addition, students' values, attitudes, and affection for their homeland and other countries were observed through the awareness of North Korea, DMZ, and Dok-do island. Scrutinizing students' sketch maps and follow-up interviews provided much more in-depth context for understanding students' narratives about territorial identity than did the analysis of structured surveys since they can freely draw and sketch their cognition. A qualitative data analysis builded a code list with 67 codes generated from 626 quotations. These data were exported to CSV format to elicit and evaluate differential variances of territorial identity along with student's Social Studies score and Grade Point Average for inferential statistics and quantitative data analysis using SPSS. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, some suggestions to build a model of territorial education and to develop teaching and learning materials in the domain of geography education were provided.

The Creativity Forecasting of Design Idea Sketches According to the Ambiguity of Visual Stimuli and Idea-Sharing Situations (시각자극의 모호함과 아이디어 교류의 유무에 따른 디자인 아이디어의 창의성 예측)

  • A decision tree analysis was performed by categorizing the idea sketches produced in the group environment into three different levels of visual stimuli ambiguity (vague, ambiguous, and definite) and two idea-sharing situations (before and after). We then examined the predicted values for the creativity of each group's idea sketches, the factors that led to high creativity scores, and their standards. The results of the analyses indicated that the Resistance to Premature Closure, Originality, Elaboration, ness, and Similarity represented important predictors of the creativity of design idea sketches according to the level of ambiguity of the visual stimuli used and whether ideas were shared or not. The group presented with vague stimuli after sharing ideas scored the highest predicted creativity value and the group presented with definite stimuli after sharing ideas scored the lowest predicted creativity value.

  • 심리학에서 사람의 심리 상태를 알아보기 위해 사용되는 검사 방법 중, 집-나무-사람 검사(HTP Test)는 피실험자가 그린 집, 나무, 사람을 포함하는 그림을 사용하여 피실험자의 심리를 분석하는 투영 검사법이다. 본 논문에서는 딥러닝 모델을 이용해 HTP Test 에 사용되는 그림을 분석하는 시스템을 제안하며, 성능 평가를 통해 심리학에서의 딥러닝 모델 적용 가능성을 확인한다. 또한 그림 데이터 분석에 적합한 사전 훈련 모델을 개발하기 위해, ImageNet 과 스케치 데이터셋으로 사전 훈련하여 성능을 비교한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템은 크게 감정 분석을 위한 이미지 객체 추출부, 추출된 객체로 피실험자의 감정을 분류하는 감정 분류부로 구성되어 있다. 객체 추출과 이미지 분류 모두 CNN(Convolution Neural Network) 기반의 딥러닝 모델을 사용하며, 이미지 분류 모델은 서로 다른 데이터셋으로 모델을 사전 훈련한 후, 훈련 데이터셋으로 전이 학습하여 모델의 성능을 비교한다. 그림 심리 분석을 위한 HTP test 스케치 데이터셋은, HTP Test 와 동일하게 피실험자가 3 개 클래스의 집, 나무, 사람의 그림을 그려 자체 수집하였다.

Web-based 3D Object Retrieval from User-drawn Sketch Query (스케치를 이용한 웹 환경에서의 3차원 모델 검색)

  • Three-dimensional (3D) object retrieval from user-drawn sketch queries is one of the important research issues in the areas of pattern recognition and computer graphics for simulation, visualization, and Computer Aided Design. The performance of content-based 3D object retrieval system depends on the availability of effective descriptors and similarity measures for this kind of data. In this paper, we present a sketch-based 3D object retrieval system by extracting a hybrid edge descriptor which is robust against rotation and translation. The experimental results which are based on HTML5 and WebGL show that proposed sketch-based 3D object retrieval method is very efficient to search and order the 3D objects according to user's intention.

  • The development of hardware, popularization of 3D graphics software could get to easily use 3d graphics tool in the school. And learning difficulties of a shape section increased through more being enforced a shape section of an elementary school. Thus we try to improve learning effectiveness in a shape section using Sketech Up software. To do this, we analyzed existing studies, classified 3D graphics software, provided the selection criteria of vector graphics software. And we explained how to select 3D graphics software. We selected and reorganized the shape contents to use Sketch Up, which make and rotate 3D figures, understand aspects of a shape. And we inserted the content about piling 3D figures in the beginning state of the curriculum. we composed 10 periods and practiced our reorganized curriculum to the teaching and learning using Sketch Up. And we conducted before & after survey to check out t-verified. And we acquired meaningful results statistically. Thus applying Sketch Up to the shape learning can be analyzed effectively.

The Effects of Concept Sketches on the Understanding and Attitude in High School Student's learning of Weather Change (날씨 변화 학습에서 개념스케치 활용이 고등학생의 개념 이해도와 과학 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of concept sketches on the understanding and scientific attitude in high school student's learning of weather change. Among the various fields of meteorology, especially in weather change, we often deal with the change of the spatiotemporal change in an abstract way. So making use of 'Concept Sketches'- simplified sketches which represent the main features, principles, processes and interrelationships of the learning contents using some concise explanations, signs and terms - could help the students learn the phenomena of weather change efficiently. This study's aim was to check up the effect and analyze the results of the lesson including the concept sketches. As a result of this study, concept sketches group showed significant improvement compared to the other groups in understanding of weather change and in scientific attitude, too. In students' recognition research of concept sketches showed that students found the class more interesting with improved concentration and had a chance to review through concept sketching, which is helpful for their learning. Considering the above research results, the study which applies concept sketching required the students to actively process their knowledge, and had a positive effect on the understanding of weather changes. Most of all, drawing the pictures which is a familiar activity helped the students to take part in the class eagerly.

  • In recent years, space planning ability using 3D sketch software is required in the working field of interior design. However, vocational high school do not respond appropriately to changes in the industry, because the class of vocational high school consists of hands-on practical classes and 2D CAD based classes. There is a shortage of 3D sketch software-based instruction programs that can improve students' spatial planning skills. Therefore, this study is to develop instruction program using 3D sketch software for 'Planning for Residential Space' unit of NCS-based on interior design subject and to find out the effect on students' academic achievement by applying to vocational high school class. The 3d sketch software based instructional program developed in this study was developed through four stages of preparation, development, implementation and evaluation according to the PDIE model process. The experimental design model used nonequivalent group posttest-only design in this study. Experiments were conducted on vocational high school students in construction and 9 hours of interior design subjects were applied. After the experiments, students were tested for academic achievement in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas. As a result, the instruction program using the 3d sketch program developed in this study was found to be more effective in improving students' academic achievement than existing manual instruction program in both cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas.
