  • Kinematic and kinetic analysis using 3D Motion Capture system are common, yet there is little in the literature that discuss the relationship and coactivity between muscles during the golf swing. The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between the employed 16 muscles during golf swing. We could observe 3 muscle patterns such as 'Line' shape, 'L' shape, and 'Loop' shape for the golf swing activity. The 'Line' shape indicates that two muscles act almost perfectly in phase, and the 'L' shape represents that two muscles act in a reciprocating manner(When one is active, the other is quiescent and vice versa). And the 'Loop' shape indicates that two muscles act sequently(After one is active, the other act). In these results, we knew the muscle patterns during golf swing is similar to the patterns during gait. And we presented it was possible to show the consistence of golf swing through the frequency analysis of muscle patterns. We believe that the results potentially useful for the golf players and coaches to analyze their performance.

  • The purpose of this investigation was to determine whether correlations exist between balance and impact velocity, angular position, and maximum velocity of a club during drive swing. Twelve skilled golfers were recruited in this study. They were asked to perform ten swing trials and two trials were selected for analysis. Balance parameters were calculated via the force platform while kinematic variables were determined by using the Qualisys system. The results of the present study demonstrated that the average of COP velocity was faster in the medio-lateral direction rather than the anterio-posterior direction. Also, left foot's COP velocity and free torque were greater than the right foot's before impact. The range of the right foot's COP in the anterio-posterior direction before impact were correlated with the club velocity and angular position at impact. There was a negative correlation between the left foot's COP velocity before the impact and the velocity at impact. Additionally, the range and RMS of the left foot's free torque affected on the club angular position at impact and the maximum velocity at release, respectively. Finally, a negative correlation existed between the range of the right foot's free torque after the impact and club's maximum velocity at release.

  • Fractures of isolated spinous processes of cervical and thoracic vertebrae are called as Clay shoveler's fracture. Such fractures related to sports activities are quite rare. In this report, a case of 27-year-old male with isolated spinous process fracture of C7 during golf swing is reported. The patient was prescribed on muscle relaxant and analgesic therapy. Cervical immobilization was maintained for four weeks with a cervical collar. The patient gradually recovered and was asymptomatic. He started playing golf twice a week after 5 months from the onset of pain.

  • This paper presents the design and the implementation of input/output (I/O) interface circuits for 2.5 Gbps operation in a 3.3V 0.35um CMOS technology. Due to the differential transmission technique and low voltage swing, LVDS(low-voltage differential signaling) has been widely used for high speed transmission with low power consumption. This interface circuit is fully compatible with the LVDS standard. The LVDS proposed in this paper utilizes a telescopic amplifier. This circuit is operated up to 2.3 Gbps. The circuit has a power consumption of 25. 5mW. This circuit is designed with Samsung $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The validity and effectiveness are verified through the HSPICE simulation.

  • This study conducted a case study using various platforms centered on a tennis game to examine what forms the movements of a game player had when they were abstracted in the game. In particular, it summarized the forms of the player's experience that could be attained from the abstracted tennis actions into the 4 types: movement, swing, direction & intensity, and skill; and observed and schematized them in the early video games, console games, mobile games, Gesture recognition games, and wearable games. In conclusion, the development of technology offers the players with greater experience. For example the change of the platform of simple games of pressing buttons into swinging. Furthermore, the study found a consistency in the context even though the difference of action was slightly found by the interface.

  • The sway motion control problem of a container hanging on the trolly is considered in the paper. In the container crane control problem, suppressing the residual swing motion of the container at the end of acceleration, deceleration or the case of that the unexpected disturbance input exists is main issue. For this problem, in general, many trolley motion control strategies are introduced and applied. In this paper, we introduce and synthesize a swing motion control system in which a small auxiliary mass is installed on the spreader made by ourselves. In this control system, the actuator reacting against the auxiliary mass applies inertial control forces to the container to reduce the swing motion in the desired manner. Especially, we apply the $H_{\infty}$ based gain-scheduling control technique the anti-sway control system design problem of the controlled plant. In this control system, the controller dynamics are adjusted in real-time according to time-varying plant parameters. And the simulation result shows that the proposed control strategy is shown to be useful to the case of time-varying system and, robust to disturbances like winds and initial sway motion.

  • Swing reducers are widely used in special vehicles that have swing motions. Generally, compact swing reducers were constituted by a worm gear pair. Worm gears are one of the most important technical devices for transmitting torque between spatially crossed axes. Due to their high transmission ratio and compact structure, they are widely used in power transmission applications where high reduction is required. This paper presented approaches to improve the transmission efficiency and assembling performance of 3.5 ton class worm gear swing reducers. Worm wheel and the case of swing reducers were optimized and certified by a finite element method. Finally, an actual swing reducer was processed and assembled to test the performance.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare between success and failure in bowling throw motions. For the data analysis, it was utilized by the method of three dimensional motion analysis and obtained kinematical parameters of stride, COG position and ball position through the address and release motion. The subjects of this study were three female bowling players, and obtained conclusions were as follows; Displacements of stride were not significance of success events, 4th and 5th phase stride were longer than failure. COG variation for height were less than failure, but there not significance between success and failure. The ball position of 3 th phase was lowest than other phases, and throw motions were stable by the small variations for upward downward.
