A Study on Strategic Approaches Plans for Industrial Revitalization and Overseas Export of Smart City Technology (스마트도시 기술의 산업 활성화와 해외수출을 위한 전략적 접근 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Smart City Technology, which is significant in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, greatly increases the efficiency and productivity of cities nowadays. The purpose of this study is to present a strategic approach for industrial revitalization and overseas export by analyzing the current status of smart city-related companies and discovering high-priority smart city technologies. To this end, the smart city theory and ASEAN smart city were reviewed through prior research, and a survey of companies with domestic smart city technology was conducted. As a result of the survey, it is revealed that companies with smart city technology in Korea are highly willing to export to ASEAN countries. There is a strong desire to export the following technologies: construction, traffic, green·energy, etc. And there was a high willingness to export the following services: IoT, platform, AI, etc. The following solutions have been proposed as solutions to Strategic Plans to Promote the Export: 1) Deregulation and incentives, 2) Global human resource development, 3) Information provision and strengthening of local networks, 4) Financial and public relations support.

  • Recent trend in the manufacturing industry is focused on the convergence with IoT and Big Data, by emergence of the 4th Industrial Revolution. To realize a smart factory, the proposed system based on MTConnect technology collects and integrates various status information of machines from many production facilities including heterogeneous devices. Also it can distribute the acquisited status of heterogeneous manufacturing machines to the remote devices. As a key technology of a flexible automated production line, the proposed system can provide much possibility to manage important information such as error detection and processing state management in the unmanned automation line.

  • By developing the IoT(Internet of Things) technology, devices for smart home environment have rapidly increased. With respect to mobiles, these applications are used to control and manage the various smart devices effectively. However, the existing mechanisms only provide simple information, and hence a difficulty to search or control the smart devices persists, since there is no meaningful relationship between them. In this research, we suggest an interface which visualizes the device's data and controls them effectively, based on the user's device using pattern. As a solution for this problem, we classify the user pattern based on a timeline for the associated circumstance, and visualize the device's data to make a group or to control individually in an easier approach. Also, all meaningful information could be confirmed by summarizing all the data of smart devices.

  • In order to reduce the time and cost used in insurance processing, studies have been actively carried out to apply blockchain smart contract technology to car insurance. However, by using traffic data that is insufficient to prove accidents, existing studies are being exposed to the risk of insurance fraud, such as forgery and overstated damage by malicious insurers. To solve this problem, we propose an accident data-based reliability estimation model by using both various types of data through sensors, RSUs, and IoT devices embedded in automobiles and smart contracts. In particular, the regression model was applied in consideration of the weight estimation according to the type of traffic accident data and the reliability estimation model trained according to various accident situations. The proposed model is expected to effectively reduce fraud and insurance litigation while providing transparency in the insurance process and streamlining it is well.

  • In this paper, we propose a system for efficient customer management by linking the automatic dispenser and bank server computer to smart phone. The proposed background is as follows. The customer management system used by banks has been used by ordinary users. However, with the development of smartphones, the number of online banking users has increased and the number of bank branches has decreased, so that a long waiting time occurs when a bank is directly used offline. In addition, customer inefficiency time loss causes problems in customer service. In this paper, we propose a queue management system based on the number of customers by using the automatic dispenser that is used offline with the smartphone to improve customer service resulting from such a customer management problem.

  • Public Safty-LTE(Long Term Evolution) is being deployed in the direction of reducing cost by using both of municipal network and commercial network. However, LTE Network is difficult to ensure the survivability during the information communication infrastructure failures. In addition, it is vulnerable in communication coverage of inside buildings and underground. In this study, we propose to implement effectively the network survivability technique through the convergence to the proven technology. As the advent of the IoT Age, smart sensors which are embedded in the environment and the things will be able to provide a useful infrastructure for ensuring the network survivability. Based on the feature of the smart sensor, we designed the sink node architecture to guarantee the network survivability in disaster situation through the convergence of the small cell technology and extension of wireless network coverage technology. The computing power inherent in the environment is a valuable resource that can be utilized in the disaster situation.

  • Smart home based on Internet of things (IoT) is rapidly emerging as an exciting research and industry field. However, security and privacy have been critical issues due to the open feature of wireless communication channel. As a step towards this direction, Shuai et al. proposed an anonymous authentication scheme for smart home environment using Elliptic curve cryptosystem. They provided formal proof and heuristic analysis and argued that their scheme is secure against various attacks including de-synchronization attack, mobile device loss attack and so on, and provides user anonymity and untraceability. However, this paper shows that Shuai et al.'s scheme does not provide user anonymity nor untraceability, which are very important features for the contemporary IoT network environment.

  • In this paper, we propose an IoT based smart outlet system for one-person household with electric safety, electric energy consumption management and transmission of messages to the reserved contacts by connecting the emergency network. The proposed smart outlet system is implemented by parsing packet data and protocol between server, module, application and WiFi AP receiver. The WiFi AP built for communication can be used not only for the outlet but also for the gas barrier, the door lock and the like. In addition, the proposed method can provide the remote monitoring function by receiving the amount of power of the receptacle received through the AC current sensor (SCT-013) in real time. The smart outlet system is expected to be capable of automatically shutting off the power in case of emergency through automatic power use analysis in addition to the standby power cutoff function.

  • Machine to Machine (M2M) technology has gained attention due to the fast diffusion of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and smart devices. Most wireless network experts believe that Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Communications technology in an iBeacon network has amazing advantages in terms of providing communication services at a low cost in smartphone applications. Specifically, BLE does not require any pairing process during its communication phases, so it is possible to send a message to any node without incurring additional transmissions costs if they are within the BLE communication range. However, BLE does not require any security verification during communication, so it has weak security. Therefore, a security authorization process would be necessary to obtain customer confidence. To provide security functions for iBeacon, we think that the iBeacon Message Encryption process and a Decryption (Authorization) process should be designed and implemented. We therefore propose the BLE message Authorization Mechanism based on a One Time Password Algorithm (BLE-OTP). The effectiveness of our mechanism is evaluated by conducting a performance test on an attendance system based on BLE-OTP.

  • Smart home in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment aims to provide an optimal living environment for users by connecting all devices in the home. In such a smart home environment, artificial intelligence speakers are being used as a way to manage and control all devices. The existing speaker function is changing from simple music playback to the role of an interface that controls and manages all devices in the smart home space. This study dealt with the market status and usability analysis in the US and Korea, the leader in artificial intelligence speakers. The main target companies were Amazon, Google, and Apple in the US, as well as Kakao, SKT, and KT in Korea. In addition, based on the reaction results of domestic users to artificial intelligence speakers, the derivation of major problems and directions for improvement were described.
