Development of a Web-based Interactive Education systems (웹 기반의 상호작용 교육용 시스템 개발)

  • The smart devices are used more and more, these days. It make the teaching method using smart devices possible and it is considered as important method in the modern society. Though this kind of approach is prospering in foreign countries, it is not so in the domestic education system. Therefore, this paper proposes the mobile web system supporting the active interaction between the teacher and the students for the domestic education. This system can be used everywhere smart device is connected to the internet. The teacher set a question and the students answers against it through the system in real time. All questions and answers are written into the system and it can be checked again visually. It makes teachers and students trace and evaluate their interaction. And the teacher can download those result in microsoft Excel file format. We did a survey on this system to students and got positive response.

A Study on the Defined and Realized Attributes of SMART Education (스마트교육의 속성과 구현 실태에 관한 연구)

  • Since the development of Smart technology and the advent of various Smart media, a learning environment for individual learners and the school has been changing. In the stream of changing learning environments, in 2011, the government announced SMART education strategies, introducing the term officially, "SMART education." With the governments' efforts to develop and implement SMART education in school, many policies has been enacted and many research has been conducted and increased gradually. However, as policies of SMART education have initiated in situation where there is no clear understanding in regard of SMART education, many researchers and teachers confused of SMART education and its identity and attributes, even though it has been 6 years since the concept was introduced. Unfortunately, SMART education has been implemented as one type of instructional methodology as utilizing Smart technology. Thus, in this research, we tried to build theoretical foundation of SMART education through analyzing former research on SMART education to define the attributes of SMART education. To examine how SMART education has been implemented in terms of its attributes, also, we analyzed research that conducted instructional design and implementation on SMART education in actual learning environments. As the results of former research analysis, the attributes of SMART education include Information and Communication Technology, open learning environment, self-directed learning, customized learning, and social learning. In majority of research, SMART education focused on utilizing Smart technology and media in teaching and learning environments but self-directed, and customized learning were less adapted in SMART learning environments. In the following research, how to improve educational benefits of SMART education through adapting original attributes of SMART education need to be examined.

Perceptions of the Middle School Gifted-students and Pre-teachers About the Convergence Class Programs Using Realistic Contents (실감형 콘텐츠를 활용한 융합 수업 프로그램에 대한 중학교 영재 학생 및 예비 교사의 인식 조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of science-centered convergence class program using realistic contents such as virtual reality and augmented reality on class satisfaction, scientific attitudes and the perception of the gifted students in middle school. After developing the convergence class program including realistic contents using smart devices, we applied it to the gifted students. We analyzed the class satisfaction, scientific attitude and perception of the gifted students through questionnaires. In addition, a survey was conducted on the pre-teachers to investigate and analyze the class satisfaction, scientific attitude of the science class program to students and the perception of science classes using realistic contents. As a result, both students and pre-teachers were positively aware of class satisfaction by science class program using realistic contents. In particular, it was positive in that the class can induce learning motivation and interest. On the other hand, it was pointed out that the low-quality App and lack of infra for smart devices were disadvantages. In addition, pre-teachers lack confidence and information about class using the realistic contents, but they recognize the need of classes using realistic contents for students and education for pre-teachers. Based on this, it obtained suggestions on the preparation of facilities and equipment in schools for future education, development of contents that can be used for convergence class, development of programs and teaching·learning materials using realistic contents, and education for pre-teachers.

A study on non-face-to-face art appreciation system using emotion key (감정 키를 활용한 비대면 미술감상 시스템 연구)

  • This study was conducted with the purpose of listening to the explanations of artworks in the non-face-to-face class and confirming the learner's feelings as a result of the class. The proposed system listens to the explanation of the artwork, inputs the learner's emotions with a dedicated key, and expresses the result in music. To this end, the direction of the non-face-to-face art appreciation class model using the emotion key was set, and based on this, a system for non-face-to-face art appreciation was constructed. The learner will use the 'smart device using the emotion key' proposed in this study to listen to the explanation of the artwork and to input the emotion for the question presented. Through the proposed system, learners can express their emotional state in online art classes, and instructors receive the results of class participation and use them in various ways for educational analysis.

  • 본 연구는 온라인교육에서 주로 활성화 되어 있는 데이터 기반의 학습자 평가시스템이 아닌 초 중등학교 면대면 교실 수업 중 실시간으로 발생하는 유의미한 학습활동 정보를 스마트기술을 활용하여 데이터로 축적하고 분석하여 다양하게 제시함으로써, 학습자에게는 학습에 대한 정확한 피드백을 주고 교수자에게는 수업방향을 제고하며 부모들에게는 자녀들의 학습활동에 대한 이해도 높일 수 있는 학습자 분석 및 평가 시스템을 개발 시 요구사항들을 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 스마트교육을 위한 교수학습 방법들을 고려하여 적합한 스마트기기 기반 수업지원 도구를 조사하고 도구 사용 후 발생되는 학습활동에 관한 데이터를 분석할만한 데이터 마이닝 기법을 소개하여 향후 학습자평가 시스템에 대해 제언한다.

Awareness and Utilization Plan of the Smart Learning in University Education (대학교육의 스마트러닝에 대한 인식 및 활용 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine university student's awareness and utilization plan of Smart Learning of the university education. For this purpose, a needs analysis is performed through a survey of 345 university students. Through the survey, first, students of media devices, including the average daily usage time of four hours at the most common smart devices, the intended use was used SNS, games and entertainment, datebook, and more. Second, the benefits of the smart learning, which students learn to recognize the challenges and reducing the burden most common obstacle was the difficulty in immersion classes. Third, the demand for university education smart learning, the most common opinion about the classroom building. On the basis of the above research findings, the utilization plans are proposed.

  • 최근 스마트 러닝이 학교현장에서 자리매김하고 스마트 기기도 활용이 됨으로써, 과거에는 수행할 수 없었던 평가방식과 학습활동의 관리가 가능해졌다. 하지만, 아직도 학교현장을 위한 앱이나 웹 프로그램의 개발은 활성화되고 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는 학생들이 수업시간에 직접 스마트기기를 활용하여 학생들의 학습활동을 평가하고 이를 데이터화함으로써 향후 학생들 스스로의 자기관리나 교사들의 학습자 지도에 도움이 될 수 있는 웹응용과 앱을 개발함을 목적으로 한다.

  • This study covers the effectiveness of SNS utilization education for the elderly. Participants in the study conducted in-depth interviews with trainees currently participating in education and mentors of the same age who are working as assistive instructors. The study deals with whether SNS utilization education, which is considered difficult, can be a more valid class when an elderly person of the same age becomes a mentor and teaches a class. The results of the study said that it was a fun and rewarding education after using SNS for the elderly, free from fear of difficult devices due to the friendly consideration and empathy of the same age. If a mentor of the same age is used for education on SNS for the elderly, SNS education, which has been considered difficult and burdensome for the elderly, is expected to be activated with more flexible education.

Research on pre-service teachers' perceptions of smartphones for educational use and suggestions for school policy (스마트폰의 교육적 활용에 대한 예비교사의 인식 및 학교정책 개선방안 연구)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the pre-service teacher's perception of the possibility of using smartphones in the classroom, moreover, to confirm the policy related to using smartphones in schools. For the objectives, this study, firstly, investigated the pre-service teacher's awareness of having cellphones in the classroom, secondly, analyzed the pre-service teacher's opinion of using smartphones for educational objectives and elements for those investigated objectives, finally, investigated the school policy for educational objectives of using smartphones. The participants of this study were 146 pre-service teachers among three universities in Seoul. The results showed that the pre-service teachers opposed using cellphones in the classroom. Next, it was found that most of them had smartphones and they knew how to use them effectively. For the aspects of educational use of smartphones, they recognized that smartphones could be used as a smart educational tool, an efficient teaching and learning tool, and an assistant tool for teaching and learning. In order to use smartphones for the investigated educational tools, the learning contents, the ways of teaching and learning, and the technical support of the school should be prepared. Finally, the pre-service teachers thought that the school policy should be changed in order to use smartphones for educational objectives, and the school policy with regard to using smartphones in the classroom should be decided by the teachers. Most of all, for the educational use of smartphones, the pre-service teachers believed that the change of the students' perception was the most significant.

An Analysis of the Difference of Perception on IT Convergence Learning after the Smart Device based Robot Programming Education According to Elementary Gifted Students' Level (스마트 기기 기반의 로봇 프로그래밍 교육 이후 초등 영재들의 수준에 따른 IT 융합 학습에 대한 인식 차이 분석)

  • In this paper, we propose an smart device based robot programming education program and analyzing students' perceptions such as satisfaction, Expectancy-Value of IT convergence learning after the robot education program according to elementary gifted students' level. Smart device based robot programming education program designed based on schematic of the convergence suggested by WTEC and consist of creative phase, integration/fusion phase, innovation phase, outcome phase for learning practical process of the IT convergence. We are conducting a smart device based robot programming education class to consist of 126 gifted students and analysing the difference of perception. According to analysis of the result, core and advanced students' perception on satisfaction score shows also high. However, advanced level students' satisfaction score shows higher than core students' satisfaction score. Also, advanced level students' expectancy-value score on IT convergence learning shows higher than core students' score.
