Plastic wastes generated from household waste are separated by mixed discharge with foreign substances, and recycling is relatively low. In this study, the effect of the ratio and content of mixed plastic waste coarse aggregate(MPWCA)s and mixed plastic waste fine aggregate(MPWFA)s filled with blast furnace slag fine powder on the slump and compressive strength of concrete was evaluated experimentally. The MPWCAs were found to have a similar fineness modulus, but have a single particle size distribution with a smaller particle size compared to coarse aggregates. However, the MPWFAs were found to have a single particle size distribution with a larger fineness modulus and particle size compared to fine aggregates. Meanwhile, the effect of improving the density and filling pores by the blast furnace slag fine power was found to be greater in the MPWFA compared to the MPWCA. As the amount of the mixed plastic waste aggregate(MPWA)s increased, the slump and compressive strength of concrete decreased. In particular, the lower the slump and compressive strength of concrete was found to decrease the greater the amount of MPWFA than MPWCA when the amount of MPWA was the same. This is because of the entrapped air and voids formed under the angular- and ROD-shaped aggregates among the MPWFAs. On the other hand, the addition of the admixture and the increase in the unit amount of cement were found to be effective in improving the compressive strength of the concrete with MPWAs.

Recently, building structures tend to be super high-rise and large-scale with the development of concrete technology. When high-rise building is constructed of reinforced concrete structure, it has a disadvantage that its own weight increases. Light weight aggregate(LWA) was developed to compensate for these shortcomings. Manufacturing concrete using these light weight aggregates has the advantage of reducing the self weight of the reinforced concrete structure, but has a disadvantage in that the strength of the concrete is reduced. In this study, an experimental study was conducted to investigate the strength characteristics of hardened cement according to the presence or absence of surface coating of lightweight aggregates. As a result, in terms of compressive strength, the surface-coated lightweight aggregate exhibited higher strength than the uncoated lightweight aggregate. Also, it was considered that this is because the interfacial voids of the surface coated lightweight aggregate mixed cement hardened body were filled with blast furnace slag fine powder particles.

In general, calcium is required for the reaction of blast furnace slag fine powder and fly ash. The by-products generated during the process of producing recycled aggregates have different calcium contents depending on the crushing stage and the possibility of using the process by-product as a concrete mixture is also different. In this study, the effect of the calcium content of the by-products on the compressive strength was investigated and the block was fabricated by using this. To utilize the by-products as an admixture, the calcium content was analyzed and the bending strength and surface temperature were measured according to the shape of the water storage block. As a result of this study, the possibility of making a block using recycled aggregate by-products was verified and arch type block was constructed to secure storage capacity and bending strength. Also, the surface temperature of the water storage block was reduced by $9^{\circ}C$ or more than that of the general permeable block.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of recycled aggregates powder (RP) contents on recycled aggregates (RA) using fly-ash (FA) mortar in a condition of zero cement targeting earth filling materials, and the results can be summarized as follows. First, there was a tendency that as RP contents increased, W/B and air contents increased also. In the case of compressive strength, the strength was hardly developed at the early age, which was prior to 14 days; however, with the starting point of 14 days of age, strength of around 1.5~2.0 MPa was developed when it arrived at 28 days. At a curing temperature of $20^{\circ}C$, the more RP contents increased, the more the compressive strength increased in comparison with FA 100% at all levels except RP 100 %, showing the highest compressive strength at RP 25 %. At a curing temperature of $35^{\circ}C$, the temperature-dependence appeared to be large, as the RP contents were decreased compared to the curing temperature of $20^{\circ}C$. In addition, based on SEM analysis, this study was able to confirm that a pozzolanic reaction formed by an alkali stimulus of RA with the lapse of certain days even in 100 percent FA, causing the densification of tissues, and with RP 25%, hydrate was created the most densely by the hydration of unhydrated cement particles and pozzolanic reaction of FA.

Weakness of fine powder of blast furnace slags includes the decrease of initial intensity and delay of setting time. To solve this problem, there has been research on the alkali activation to induce hardening using alkaline chemical. However, the use of chemicals is dangerous and not cost effective, which can be solved by using recycled aggregates, one of construction wastes. The role of alkali activator can be substituted by alkali of non-hydrated cement included in recycled aggregates. In this study, the alkaline value of recycled aggregates will be evaluated through the comparison of molarity of sodium hydroxide (NaOH).

In this study, the research examined the effect on FC, WG, RP replacement ratio on the quality improvement of BS mortar using the RA. First of all, the flow value increased as the FC contents increased, and decreased as the WG and RP contents increased. The air contents was reduced as the FC and RP contents increased, but was increased as the WG contents went up While the compressive strength of 1 : 7 mix proportion increased with the increase of the FC and WG contents, it decreased as there was more RP contents. The compressive strength of RP could increase as the mix proportion increased, but the difference depending on the improvement material type and replacement ratio decreased gradually. The absorption deteriorated as the FC and RP contents increased in all the mix proportions, but improved a little when WG was used. Meanwhile, the absorption decreased as the compressive strength improved in all the mix proportions as a correlation, but the order was FC, RP and WG depending on the quality improvement material types. The FC and WG were most favorable in terms of quality improvement as a total analysis, and the RP and WG was most effective in terms of economical efficiency and resource recycling.

In this study, performance evaluation and rheological characteristics were analyzed for recycling the fine powder of nuclear power plant dismantled waste concrete as a solidifying agent for radioactive waste disposal. The radioactive concrete fine powder was used to prepare a simulated sample, and the test specimen was prepared using Di-water, CoCl2, and 1 mol CsCl aqueous solution as mixing water. Regardless of the aggregate mixing ratio and the type of mixing water, it satisfies the performance standard of 3.45 MPa for compressive strength at 28 days of age. All specimens satisfied the criteria for submersion strength, and the thermal cycle compressive strength satisfies the criteria for all specimens except Plain-50. As a result of evaluating the rheological properties of the solidifying agent, it was found that the increase in the aggregate mixing rate decreased the yield stress and plastic viscosity. The leaching index for cobalt and cesium of all specimens was 6 or higher, which satisfies the standard. In order to secure the stable performance of the solidifying agent, it is considered effective to use 40 % or less of the aggregate component in the solidifying agent.

Nowadays, all the world face to the global warming problems due to the emission of $CO_2$. From the previous studies, recycled aggregates were used as an alkali activator in blast furnace slag to achieve zero-cement concrete, and favorable results of obtaining strength were achieved. In this study, gypsum and incineration waste ash were used as the additional alkali activation and effects of the gypsum and incineration waste ash to enhance the performance of the mortar were tested. Results showed that although the replacement ratio of 0.5% of incineration waste ash and 20% of anhydrous gypsum resulted in the low of mortar at the early age, while it improved the later strength and achieved the similar strength to that of conventional mortar (at 91 days).

With the vision of 'a low carbon green develop' various industrial by-products were used as replacement of cement, in order to reduce $CO_2$ emissions from the manufacturing process of cement. Blast furnace slag is one of the industrial by-products. Due to the similar chemical compositions to ordinary Portland cement, blast furnace slag have been widely used in concrete with minimum side effects. Hence, in recent years, alkali activated slag-based composites are extensively studied by many researchers. However, the alkali activator can cause a number of problems in practice. Therefore, in this study, an alternative way of activating the slag was investigated. To activate the slag without using an alkali activator, calcium sulfate dihydrate was chosen and mixed with natural recycled fine aggregate. Fundamental properties of the slag-based mortar were tested to evaluate the effect of calcium sulfate dihydrate.
