A study on the SIC of using group separation in CDMA system (CDMA 시스템에서 그룹분리를 이용한 순차적 간섭 제거기에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we introduce a modified interference cancellation scheme for multiuser detection in CDMA. This detector uses successive interference canceller(SIC) and the divided received signal concepts. The active users are splits into two groups large signal power group and small signal power group- throughout ranking, matched filter, decision, regeneration. And each group is subtracted from the received signal respectively to obtain good BER performance. Each of the resulting signal is become respectively SICs input signal The computer simulation and analysis of structure demonstrate that the proposed SIC keeps the SICs BER performance, complexity and reduces SICs delay time.

  • In this paper, we introduce a modified interference cancellation scheme for multiuser detection in CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access). This detector uses SIC(Successive Interference Canceller) scheme and divides the received signals to reduce the delay time. In this proposed structure, the active users are divided into a number of groups. Within each group, parallel detection is performed to estimate the output signal of that group. The estimated output signal due to that group is then subtracted from the received signal and the resulting residual signal is used for the parallel detection of the next group. This parallel and serial cancellation process is repeated until the last group in the stage is completed. The estimated output signals due to all groups except -th group are MAI for the user signals in -th group. Therefore, the estimated output signals due to all groups except th group are subtracted from the received signal, and then the obtained signal becomes the input signal of -th SIC. The proposed RDSIC (Reduced Delay time of Successive Interference Canceller) has performance and complexity close to the SIC, but with much less detection delay.

  • This paper shows the performance of a multiuser detection DS-CDMA receiver based on of the hybrid scheme of parallel interference cancellation (PIC) and successive interference cancellation (SIC). The proposed hybrid interference cancellation is presented and is compared with existing PIC, SIC and Hybrid It of other type schemes. The performance criteria used for comparison are complexity, delay and average bit error rate (BER) performance obtained by simulation in Rayleigh-fading channel (Jake's model) with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). In the proposed hybrid IC, the BER performance approximates the one of SIC and the delay is half of the SIC. And the number of cancellation of the hybrid It is reduced about a fourth.

  • 본 논문에서는 DS-CDMA 환경의 다중 사용자 검출에서 문제시되는 다중 접속 간섭을 제거시켜주기 위해 사용되는 간섭 제거기에 대하여 소개한다. 기존의 간섭 제거 기술 중 병렬형 간섭 제거기는 장치적으로 복잡하고, 순차적 간섭 제거기는 지연 시간이 길다는 단점을 가지고 이다. 무엇보다도, 적응형 간섭 제거기는 수렴하기 위하여 많은 반복수가 필요하다. 우리는 이러한 간섭 제거기들의 성능을 개선시키기 위해서 CMA(Constant Modulus Algorithm)을 이용한 적응형 간섭 제거기에 간섭 제거 기법을 적용시킨 새로운 간섭 제거기를 제안한다. 제안된 간섭 제거기는 적응 필터 처리후 간섭 제거 기법을 적용시키기 때문에 동일한 BER(Bit Error Rate)을 얻고자 할 때 기존의 적응형 간섭 제거기에 비해 수렴을 위한 반복수를 줄여 준다. 그리고, 적응 필터를 사용함으로써 기존의 비선형 간섭 제거기에 비해 하드웨어적인 복잡도를 줄일 수 있는 효과가 있다.

  • A transceiver employing layered modulation encodes two data layers with different levels of robustness and selectively decodes one or both of them regarding the reception conditions. Because of the inconsistency in encoding and decoding, conventional ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) can not be compatible. In this letter, we derive a dualistic OSIC architecture, which assigns distinct criteria for demodulation and interference cancellation (IC). The proposed system achieves a higher spectral efficiency while guaranteeing reliable communication.

Among ICs(Interference Cancellers), PIC(Parallel IC) requires the more complexity, and SIC(Successive IC) faces the problems of the long delay time. Most of all, the adaptive detector achieves the good BER performance using the adaptive filter conducted iteration algorithm. so it requires many iterations. To resolve the problems of them, we propose an improved adaptive detector that the received signal removed MAI through the sorting scheme and the cancellation method are fed into the adaptive filter. Because the improved input signal is fed into the adaptive filter, it has the same BER performance only using smaller iterations than the conventional adaptive detector, and the proposed detector having adaptive filter requires less complexity than the other detectors.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel detection ordering technique for MIMO signal detection methods based on QR decomposition and successive interference cancellation (SIC). Recently, new signal detection methods for spatially multiplexed (SM) MIMO systems were proposed, where all the constellation points are tried as the first layer symbol, and the remaining layer symbols are estimated via SIC, producing candidate vectors. Finally, the ML metric values are calculated for the candidate vectors, that are again used to select the best symbol vector. It was also shown that the ordering method in the conventional V-BLAST is not suitable to these signal detection methods. In this paper, we propose a novel ordering method, and we show via computer simulations that the proposed ordering method improves the error performance.

Analysis of Parallel Interference Cancellation with the Improved Initial Stage (초기단을 개선시킨 병렬형 간섭 제거기에 관한 분석)

  • In this paper, we introduce a modified interference cancellation scheme to overcome MAI(Multiple Access Interference) in DS-CDMA. Among ICs(Interference Cancellers), PIC(Parallel Interference Canceller) requires the more stages to have the better BER(Bit Error Rate), and SIC(Successive Interference Canceller) faces the problems of power reordering and large delays. To resolve the problems of them, we propose a modified interference cancellation scheme combining SIC and PIC. The proposed interference canceller has improved the performance through the total received signal applied sorting method is fed into the initial stage. Its structure extracts the good characteristics because of the input signal removed MAI in the initial stage. The characteristics of the proposed system are as follows (1) smaller delay, and the strongest user signal is also reduced to MAI(unlike SIC), (2) it has the good BER performance only using fewer stages (unlike PIC).

  • Time-varying channel characteristics in OFDM systems over doubly selective channels cause inter-carrier interferences(ICI) in the frequency domain. Time domain windowing gives rise to restriction on the bandwidth of the frequency domain channel matrix and makes it possible to approximate the OFDM system as a simplified linear input-output model. When successive interference cancellation based on linear MMSE estimation is employed for channel equalization in OFDM systems, symbol detection ordering produces considerable effects on overall system performances. In this paper, we show the reduction of the residual ICI by time domain windowing and the resultant performance improvements, and investigate the effects of SINR- and CSEP-based symbol detection ordering on the performance of successive interference cancellation.
