A study on MRAS(Model Reference Adaptive System) Method Instantaneous Speed Observer for Very Low Speed Drive of Induction Motors (유도전동기의 극 저속도 운전을 위한 MRAS방식 순시속도 관측기에 관한 연구)

  • This study configuration Vector Control System which is stable and has outstanding Dynamic Characteristics in Very Low Speed Region and Low Speed Region, and proposes Instantaneous Speed Observer and Very Low Speed Control method and vector control system of the speed estimation a using Reduced-Dimensional State Observer. The Observer proposed in this system, by appling Reduced-Dimensional State Observer to Load-Torque estimation and using for speed estimation, implements system composition simply and is capable of accurate Instantaneous Speed estimation in Very Low Speed Region. Also, this study reduces influence by System Noise and suggests an induction motor speed control system which is effective in Load Disturbance, modeling error, estimation noise and so on without changing pole of an Observer.

  • Adaptive filters are widely used for acoustic echo canceler, adaptive equalizer and adaptive noise canceler. Coefficients of adaptive filters are updated by NLMS algorithm. However, Coefficients are misaligned by ambient noises when they are adapted by NLMS algorithm. In this Paper, a method determined the adaptation constant by low-pass filtered instantaneous gradient vector of LMS algorithm using orthognality principles of optimal filter is proposed. At initial states, instantaneous gradient vector, that is the cross-correlation of input signals and estimation error signals, has large value because input signals are remained in estimation error signals. When an adaptive filter is conversed, the cross-correlation will be close to zero. It isn's affected by ambient noises because ambient noises are uncorrelated with input signals. Determining adaptation constant with the cross-correlation, adaptive filters can be robust to ambient noises and the convergence rate doesn't slower As results of computer simulations, it is shown that the performance of proposed algorithm is betted than that of conventional algorithms.

  • The most shortcoming of metalhalide lamps is what the instant restarting cannot be realized when the arc tube is in the hot condition. The discharge starting voltage of arc tube in the hot condition is much higher than in the cold condition. Therefore it takes about five minutes to restart the metalhalide lamps, that is to say, it is possible to start when the pressure and the temperature are decreased. But, if the lamp is restarted in the hot condition, we must supply the high voltage pulse with 20[kV] at the both electrode of lamp. The proposed electronic ballast is consist of a electromagnetic interference(EMI) filter, a power factor correction(PFC) circuit, a flyback converter, a half-bridge inverter, and a high voltage igniter circuit. By this composition we can start/restart the lamp with the voltage 20[kV], even if the lamp is in the hot condition.

  • In this paper, an adaptive compensation technique for parameter variation is proposed which can perform quick torque response in vector control of an induction motors. To solve the problem of control performance degradation due to parameter variation in an induction motor, a rotor resistance estimation is performed by the model reference adaptive control(MRAC). The algorithm of rotor resistance estimation is composed of the error relationship which is generated between a motor real instantaneous reactive power and an estimated instantaneous reactive power. The advantage of such a real reactive power reference model is independence of the motor parameter variation. The estimation rotor resistance values are applied to the direct vector control system with a flux observer. Finally, the simulations and experiment are presented to validate the rotor resistance estimation algorithm of induction motor.

  • Pressure control of hydraulic pump using SRM with pressure predictor and direct torque control method is presented in this paper. Nowadays, high efficiency and high performance motor drive is much interested in hydraulic pump system. But the hydraulic pump system has an inherent defect that its dynamic behavior causes by interaction between the sensor and hydraulic load. It will make low performance of whole system, even unstable and oscillatory. Proposed system integrates pressure predictor and direct instantaneous torque control (DITC). The pressure predictor includes Smith predictor, which is easy to improve unstable or long oscillation in traditional negative feedback control and popular PID control architectures. And DITC method can reduce inherent torque ripple of SRM, and develop smooth torque to load, which can increase stability and improve the torque response of SR drive. So high dynamic performance and stabilization can achieved proposed hydraulic system. At last, the proposed hydraulic system is verified by simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper represents the control algorithm of the instantaneous voltage sag corrector for the power quality enhancement in distribution line. Especially, a novel detection technique of the symmetrical components is proposed for the analysis of the three-phase unbalanced and asymmetrical problems caused by the single line ground fault which is he most frequent event. This proposed method is based on the simple calculation and the control references of the symmetrical components for voltage compensation can be described as dc value without any other phase detection procedure. And also, for the generation of the reference voltages, the UF and MF defined by IEC is considered. Using this proposed control algorithm, the compensator has the fast dynamic characteristics and the THD of the compensated voltage waveform is very low. Finally, the validity of the proposed algorithm is proved by the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation and experimental results.

  • In this paper, the instantaneous flux Is applied to control the position of the SRG (Switched Reluctance Generator) without position sensor. The position information of the rotor is required in the drive of SRG. These data are generally obtained by a shaft encoder or resolver. In some cases, the EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference), vibration, thermal, and humidity environments may cause the difficulties in maintaining the satisfactory performance for the position detection. Therefore, the elimination of the position and speed sensor is needed. In this paper, a new method for the position estimation of the SRG is proposed. The estimation of the flux is calculated by using the measured voltage and current. The rotor position gets from the flux profile. The output voltage is also controlled constantly by PR control algorithm. These methods are verified by computer simulations md experiments using DSP. Experimental results certificate that the proposed method is able to control the SRG stable, and keep the output voltage constant in spite of changing of the load.

  • The number of confine-disease of elevator increases every year and then sudden rise, sudden stop, error of level indication, stand; those can bring to uneasiness of elevator passenger and malfunction accidents related life accident are increasing. For confirmation those malfunction accident, we are measuring and analyzing power quality(Sag, Swell, Interruption) of the actual site and evaluated the performance for stop and stating by testing the two imitation test equipment with EN12016(2004) standard level. This paper will be used data of the analysis for mutual relation between Power Quality and malfunction and fault of elevator.

  • In this paper, we design and fabricate an instantaneous frequency measurement receiver with a frequency resolution of 125 MHz which detects and measures continuous signals in 4~6 GHz using path difference of delay lines. The receiver has a 4-bit configuration and consists of power dividers, delay lines, power combiners, power detectors, voltage comparator circuits and so on. The accuracy of the instantaneous frequency measurement is improved by applying offset voltage compensation to the comparator circuits to compensate the frequency-dependent path loss of the delay line and the frequency dependence of power detection.

  • This paper presents a new control method of single-phase active power filter(APF) for the compensation of harmonic current components in nonlinear loads. Constructing a imaginary second-phase giving time delay to load currents, making single-phase system into the system that has two phases, complex calculation is possible. In the previous method, it made a imaginary-phase lagged to the load current T/4(here T is the fundamental cycle), but in proposed method, the new signal, which has the delayed phase through the filter, using the phase-delay property of low-pass filter, was used to the second phase. Instantaneous calculation of harmonic current is possible, because two phase have different phase. In this paper, it was done with instantaneous calculation using the rotating reference frames(RRF) that synchronizes with source-frequency, a reference of compensation currents, not applying to instantaneous reactive power theory which uses the existed fixed reference frames. The simulation and experiment about R-L loads using the current source were carried out, and the effect of the proposed method was preyed through the result of this experiment.
