  • 이머시브 비디오 서비스를 위해 MPEG-I Visual 그룹에서는 3DoF+ 기술과 관련하여 MIV(Metadata for Immersive video)의 표준화를 진행하고 있으며, 이를 위해 다시점 영상 및 전방위 장면을 촬영한 ERP 규격의 영상들이 주어진 경우에 운동시차를 제공할 수 있는 영상 합성 레퍼런스 소프트웨어인 TMIV SW를 제공한다. TMIV는 기본적으로 송신부인 인코더와 수신부인 디코더로 구성이 되어있으며, 인코더에서 가장 중요한 기능은 다수의 입력 시점영상 간의 중복된 데이터를 찾아내서 제거하는 프루닝 과정이다. 프루닝 방법에 따라 데이터 전송량과 디코더에서의 합성 품질이 달라지기 때문에 인코더에서 핵심이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 인코더의 프루닝의 효율을 높이기 위해 전체 흐름도에서 프루닝 순서 변경 과정을 추가하고 그 과정에서 시점 영상간 중첩 영역을 계산하여 이를 토대로 프루닝 순서를 결정하는 방법을 제안하였고 이를 통해 데이터 압축률이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었고, 또한 수신부에서 영상 합성의 품질이 달라짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

Initial Buffering-Time Decision Scheme for Progressive Multimedia Streaming Service (프로그레시브 멀티미디어 스트리밍 서비스를 위한 초기 버퍼링 시간 결정 기법)

  • The most noticeable aspect of progressive streaming is the media playback during its download through TCP to avoid a lengthy wait for a content to finish downloading. By employing TCP, it is usually possible to detect lost packets by using the checksum and sequence numbering functions of TCP Thereafter, we can recover the lost packets by the retransmission function of TCP. However, there must remain enough amount of media data in the recipient buffer in order to guarantee seamless media playback even during retransmission. In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm for determining the initial buffering time before start of playback to guarantee seamless playback during retransmission considering the probability of client buffer under-flow. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm will be proved through extensive simulation results.

  • The cyclic debugging approach often fails for message passing parallel programs because they non-deterministic characteristics due to message race conditions. This paper identifies the MPI events that affect non-deterministic executions, and then converts the concurrent execution to the sequential one that is controlled in order to make it equivalent to a reference execution by keeping their orders of events in two executions identical. This paper also presents an efficient algorithm for the causal distributed breakpoint which is initiated by any sequential breakpoint in one process, and restores each process to the earliest state that reflects all events that happened causally before the sequential breakpoint. So a cyclic debugging approach can be used in debugging MPI parallel programs as like as in debugging sequential programming environments.

  • The major purpose of this study is to evaluate methodologies to predict the injury severity of pedestrian-vehicle collisions. Methodologies to be evaluated and compared in this study include Binary Logistic Regression(BLR), Ordered Probit Model(OPM), Support Vector Machine(SVM) and Decision Tree(DT) method. Valuable insights into applying methodologies to analyze the characteristics of pedestrian injury severity are derived. For the purpose of identifying causal factors affecting the injury severity, statistical approaches such as BLR and OPM are recommended. On the other hand, to achieve better prediction performance, heuristic approaches such as SVM and DT are recommended. It is expected that the outcome of this study would be useful in developing various countermeasures for enhancing pedestrian safety.

  • In most public transportation related master plans, decisions for investment priorities are initially made by facilities with lower installation rates or lower satisfaction (performance) levels. In general, the decisions are made without conducting importance factor analysis. In this study, a combined method of importance-performance analysis (IPA) model for bus users related in travel time is proposed by using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results of the IPA for Metropolitan users show that the categories need improvement are number of bus stops, number of intersections, headways, waiting times for boarding and traffic signal operations in order. On the other hand, Non-Metropolitan uses show that the categories need improvement are traffic signal operations, waiting times for boarding, headways, bus exclusive lanes and number of intersections that is in reverse order to Metropolitan users.

  • The container terminal operators established a re-marshalling plan to reduce the loading operation time and the release operation time. Re-marshalling is to rearrange the containers in the container yard to the advantageous position to shorten the working time using the spare time of the automated yard crane. This study assumed the automated container terminal with a perpendicular layout and deals with the inter-bay re-marshalling planning problem in a yard block. The inter-bay re-marshalling plan determines the container to be moved, the location to be relocated, and the sequence of relocation operations. This study presents a mixed integer programming model that simultaneously determines the storage location and the operation sequence while satisfying the spatial availability during the re-marshalling. Numerical experiments are conducted to understand re-marshalling operation using a beam search method.

  • The recent conflict between Russia and Ukraine underscores the significant of military logistics support in modern warfare. Military logistics support is intricate and specialized, and traditionally centered on the mission-level operational analysis and functional models. Nevertheless, there is currently increasing demand for military logistics support even at the engagement level, especially for resupply using unmanned transport assets. In response to the demand, this study proposes a task model of the military logistics support for engagement-level analysis that relies on the logic of ammunition resupply below the battalion level. The model employs a decisions tree to establish the priority of resupply based on variables such as the enemy's level of threat and the remaining ammunition of the supported unit. The model's feasibility is demonstrated through a combat simulation using OneSAF.

Speed Enhancement Technique for Ray Casting using 2D Resampling (2차원 리샘플링에 기반한 광선추적법의 속도 향상 기법)

  • The standard volume ray-tracing, optimized with octree, needs to repeatedly traverse hierarchical structures for each ray that often leads to redundant computations. It also employs the expensive 3D interpolation for producing high quality images. In this paper, we present a new ray-casting method that efficiently computes shaded colors and opacities at resampling points by traversing octree only once. This method traverses volume data in object-order, finds resampling points on slices incrementally, and performs resampling based on 2D interpolation. While the early ray-termination, which is one of the most effective optimization techniques, is not easily combined with object-order methods, we solved this problem using a dynamic data structure in image space. Considering that our new method is easy to implement, and need little additional memory, it will be used as very effective volume method that fills the performance gap between ray-casting and shear-warping.

Notional-Load Plastic-Hinge Method for Steel Structure Design (강구조 설계를 위한 가상하중 소성활절 해석)

  • This paper presents practical notional-load plastic-hinge method for a two-dimensional steel structure design. The proposed method incorporates the refined plastic-hinge concept for spread of plasticity together with a practical notional-load approach. The proposed method can assess realistically both strength and behavior of a structural system and its individual members in a direct manner. As a result, the method can be used for design without tedious separate member capacity checks, including the calculation of K-factor. The strengths predicted by the proposed method are then compared with those predicted by the exact plastic-zone analysis as well as by the conventional LRFD procedure. A good agreement is generally observed. The displacement predictions are compared with the plastic-zone solutions. Analysis and design guidelines in using the proporsed method are given in detail. Analysis and design procedures are recommended. Member sizes determined by the proposed method are compared with those determined by the LRFD method. It is concluded that the procedures are suitable for adoption in practice.

  • 선형계획법의 해법으로 최근에는 내부점기법(Interior Point Method)가 관심 을 끌고 있다. 이 내부점 기법은 계산복잡도 뿐만 아니라 수행속도면에서도 우수한 결과를 보이고 있다. 이 방법은 매 회 대칭양정치(Symmetric Positive Definite)인 선형시스템을 풀어야 하는데 이 과정이 전체 내부점 수 행시간의 80-90%를 차지한다. 따라서 내부점 기법의 수행속도는 대칭양정치 인 선형시스템을 효율적으로 푸는 방법에 달려 있다. 대칭양정치인 선형시스 템을 풀기 위해서는 상하분해를 이용하게 되는 데 가우스소거를 이용해서 상하 분해를 하는 경우 매 단계에서 행렬의 모든 요소를 가지고 있을 필요 가 없다. 행렬의 모든 요소에 대한 정보를 동시에 필요로 하지 않는다. 즉, 현 단계에서 가우스소거와 관련된 열들에 대한 정보만 있으면 상하 분해가 가능하고 이러한 개념을 이용한 방법이 프런탈방법이다. 프런탈 방법은 대형 선형계획 문제를 풀기에 유리하다는 장점이 있다. 이러한 프런탈 방법을 확 장해서 동시에 여러 개의 프런탈을 계산하는 방법이 멀티프런탈방법이다. 이 방법은 알고리듬 자체가 병렬처리에 적합하기 때문에 병렬처리와 관련해서 도 많은 연구가 수행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 삭제나무(Elimination Tree)를 이용한 프런탈 방법과 프런탈방법에 슈퍼노드의 개념을 도입한 슈퍼노들 프 런탈방법등에 대해서 이제까지의 연구 현황을 알아보고 프런탈방법에 적합 하고 효율적인 자료 구조와 멀티프런탈 방법에 적용 가능한 병렬알고리듬에 대하여 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구결과 기대효과로는 프런탈 방법에 적합하고 효율적인 자료 구조와 멀티프런탈 방법에 적용 가능한 병렬알고리듬을 개발 함으로써 내부점 선형계획법의 수행속도의 개선에 도움이 될 것이다.성요소들을 제시하였다.용자 만족도가 보다 높은 것으 로 나타났다. 할 수 있는 효율적인 distributed system를 개발하는 것을 제시하였다. 본 논문은 데이타베이스론의 입장에서 아직 정립되어 있지 않은 분산 환경하에서의 관계형 데이타베이스의 데이타관리의 분류체계를 나름대로 정립하였다는데 그 의의가 있다. 또한 이것의 응용은 현재 분산데이타베이스 구축에 있어 나타나는 기술적인 문제점들을 어느정도 보완할 수 있다는 점에서 그 중요성이 있다.ence of a small(IxEpc),hot(Tex> SOK) core which contains two tempegatlue peaks at -15" east and north of MDS.
