  • 열가소성 고분자 물질인 PET[poly(ethylene terephthalate)]는 섬유 및 필름, 음료병 등에 널리 사용되는 대표적인 범용 소재이며, 전체 PET 제조업은 2013년 약 200억불에 달할 것으로 예상되는 큰 시장이다. 최근 급격한 산업화에 따른 전 세계적인 환경오염의 심각성이 부각되면서 기업들의 환경 친화적인 제조 활동 및 생산 프로세스의 개선이 요구되고 있다. 현재 폴리에스테르 수지를 제조하기 위해 국내외 업체에서 가장 널리 사용 되고 있는 중합촉매는 중금속 원소인 고순도 삼산화안티몬($Sb_2O_3$)이며 통상 중합공정 중에 150~300ppm의 촉매가 사용된다. 세계보건기구(WHO)의 국제암연구기관(IARC)에서는 안티몬을 인체 발암성이 있는 물질로 분류 하여 현재 유럽을 중심으로 안티몬 사용을 제한하는 환경 규제가 가속화 되고 있다. 폴리에스테르 수지 제조 공정중 안티몬 촉매를 사용할 경우 정련, 염색, 알칼리 감량시 중금속(안티몬)검출에 따른 수질 오염 및 폐수처리비용이 증가하게 되며 대량의 중합촉매 사용에 따른 이물 증가로 작업성 및 품질 문제가 상존하게 된다. 따라서 이러한 제조 공정중의 고위험성 물질을 대체할 친환경, 고부가가치 신규 무독성 PET 소재 및 제품이 각광을 받게 될 것이다. 이번 연구에서는 티타늄계(Ti-based) 무독성 촉매를 이용하여 PET 중합을 실시한 Sb-free PET원단의 염색특성을 알아보는 것으로 분산염료 3종 (Red, Yellow, Blue)으로 염색이 완료된 원단을 spectrophotometer 를 이용하여 L, a b값과 K/S값으로 측정하였다. 동일한 염색 조건을 위해 두 종류의 원단을 하나의 실린더에서 기존 PET 염색과 동일한 조건으로 염색을 실시하였으며 실험 결과 전반적으로 기존 PET와 유사한 염색 특성을 보였다. 염색견뢰도 평가에서도 Sb-free PET원단과 기존 PET원단의 세탁 견뢰도, 마찰 견뢰도, 일광 견뢰도를 비교 했을 시 두 원단 모두 4~5급으로 우수한 견뢰도를 나타내었다.

Recycling of Ti Turning Scraps for Production of Consumable Arc Electrode (아크용(用) 소모성(消耗性) 전극(電極) 제조(製造)를 위한 타이타늄 선삭(旋削) 스크랩의 재활용(再活用))

  • Ti button type ingots were prepared by recycling of Ti turning scraps using vacuum arc melting process for production of consumable arc electrode. The behavior of impurities such as Fe, W, O, and N in the Ti button ingots was investigated and the properties of the Ti button ingots were also evaluated. In the case of oxygen gaseous impurity, the oxygen layers on the surface of the Ti turning scraps were easily removed by the first vacuum arc melting. On the other hand, the solute oxygen in the Ti turning scraps was not removed by the next melting. In the case of Fe, major impurity in the Ti turning scraps, the removal degree in the final Ti button ingot refined by vacuum arc melting for 20 minutes was approximately 43 %, which is due to the vapor pressure difference between Ti and Fe. As a result, the Ti button ingots with ASTM grade 3 could be obtained by multiple vacuum arc melting from the Ti turning scraps. Therefore, it was confirmed that the preparation of consumable electrode for vacuum arc remelting could be possible by recycling of Ti turning scraps.

Study on Microbiochip for Buccal Cell Lysis and DNA Purification (상피세포 시료 전처리용 마이크로바이오칩에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a separable microfluidic device fabricated with PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) and glass. The device is used for sample preparation involving cell lysis and the DNA purification process. The cell lysis was performed for 2 min at $80^{\circ}C$ in a serpentine-type microreactor ($20 {\mu}l$) using a Au microheater that was integrated with a thermal microsensor on a glass substrate. The DNA that was mixed with other residual products during the cell lysis process was then filtered through a new filtration system composed of microbeads (diameter: $50 {\mu}m$) and PDMS pillars. Since the entire process (sample loading, cell lysis reaction, DNA purification, and sample extraction) was performed within 5 min in a microchip, we could reduce the sample preparation time in comparison with that for the conventional methods used in biochemistry laboratories. Finally, we verified the performance of the sample preparation chip by conducting PCR (polymerase chain reaction) analysis of the chip product.

Evaluation of Mesoporous Alumina Adsorbent for the Purification of Paclitaxel (Paclitaxel 정제를 위한 메조기공 알루미나 흡착제 평가)

  • Several types of mesoporous alumina adsorbents with different physical properties were prepared by spray pyrolysis and were used for the separation/purification of the anticancer agent paclitaxel. The pore diameter of the adsorbents had a greater effect than did the surface area and the pore volume on the removal of plant-derived impurities. An appropriate pore diameter (~10.8 nm) was required for effective impurity removal. At a constant pore diameter, the surface area of the adsorbent affected not only the purity but also the yield of paclitaxel. Also, increasing the surface area of the adsorbent resulted in an increase in the adsorption of paclitaxel and impurities (biomass-derived tar and wax components). Removal of these impurities was confirmed by HPLC analysis of the absorbent after the treatment and TGA of the organic substances that were bound to the adsorbent.

  • Tin doped $In_2O_3$ sputtering target is widely used to produce a various kinds of flat panel display because of high transmittance in visible region and high electrical conductivity. In2O3 and SnO2 powders were prepared by a homogeneous precipitation method using metal source, respectively, the calcining and sintering behavior of the indium-tin oxide(In2O3-SnO2) composite powders were studied. The tin oxide(SnO2) dispersion condition in ITO sputtering target was improved by increasing calcining temperature. And the tin oxide dispersion was also improved by reducing the tin oxide contents in the ITO target from 30 to 5wt%. SnO2 dispersion and densification of ITO target is very difficult to control due to sublimation of SnO2 at over 1150C.

  • IMO to issue some restricted maritime legislation for reducing the adverse environmental impacts arising from such ship exhaust emissions. According to the IMO policy, every ship entering the Baltic SECAs has to equip the gas cleaning scrubber. The discharged waste solution by gas cleaning scrubber contains many types of salts, which to recover some valuable materials before disposal. This study try to achieve valuable salts including AN and AS throughout a few process such as selective organic solvents salting out, low temperature extraction and thermal evaporation. Amongst them, Thermal evaporation with repetition extraction using inorganic solvent was the most optimum to purify the extracted AN. This valuable salt was evaluated by Elemental analysis and Differential scanning calorimetry.

  • The $Ca_{1-x}$Sr$_{x}$S:CuCl TFEL devices were fabricated by electron-beam deposition system and luminescent characteristics of the TFEL devices were studied. The SrS and CaS powders were mixed to form $Ca_{1-x}$Sr$_{x}$S host materials and 0.2 at% of CuCl was added as the activator. The luminance(lao) and peak emission wavelength of CaS:CuCl TFEL devices were 9.5 cd/m$^2$ and 492 nm, respectively. The luminance(L$_{30}$) and peak emission wavelength of SrS:CuCl TFEL devices were 633 cd/m$^2$ and 500 nm, respectively. It seems that the addition of CaS into the SrS host material generates blue shift of the EL emission characteristics but reduces the luminance and the luminous efficiency of the $Ca_{1-x}$Sr$_{x}$S:CuCl TFEL devices drastically.

  • WGS(Water Gas Shift)반응은 일산화탄소(CO)를 이산화탄소($CO_2$)로 전환하는 반응으로 일체형 수소생산시스템의 실현을 위한 고순도 수소생산에 있어서 중요한 단계이다. WGS 반응은 열역학적 평형을 고려하여 고온전이반응(HTS: High Temperature Shift)과 저온전이반응(LTS: Low Temperature Shift) 두 단계 반응으로 진행된다. 두 단계 공정의 통합을 위해 낮은 온도에서 높은 활성을 갖는 WGS 반응용 촉매 개발이 필요하다. 최근 낮은 온도에서 높은 활성을 갖는 귀금속 촉매에 다양한 담체를 적용시킨 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 선행 연구 결과, Ce-$ZrO_2$ 구조는 Ce/Zr 비에 따라 다양한 특성 변화를 관찰하였다. 따라서 낮은 온도에서 높은 활성을 갖는 WGS 반응용 촉매 제조를 위해 환원성 담체인 $CeZrO_2$에 Pt 을 담지시켜 성능을 평가하였다. 제조된 모든 담체는 공침법(Co-precipitation)으로 제조 하였으며 $500^{\circ}C$에서 6시간 소성하였다. 제조된 담체에 백금(Pt)을 함침법(Incipient Wetness Impregnate)으로 담지시켰다. 특성분석은 BET를 이용하여 표면적을 측정하였다. 촉매 반응 실험조건은 $200^{\circ}C{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ 온도범위에서 기체공간속도(GHSV: Gas Hourly Space Velocity) 45,000 ml/$h{\cdot}g-cat$ 으로 혼합가스($H_2$:60%, $N_2$:20%,$CH_4$:1%,CO:9%,$CO_2$:10%)를 흘려 반응 후 배출되는 가스를 Micro-Gas Chromatography 를 이용하여 측정하였다.

  • In the present study, an attempt was made to use FV (Fatty acid ratio & Villavecchia reaction) value determination as a reliable method for the detection and analysis of the adulteration of sesame oils. FV value was defined as fatty acid ratio, C18 : I + C18 : 2/C16 : ${\times}C18$ : 3, times modified Villavecchia-Suarez test value. Seventy-four sesame oils collected from markets were evaluated using this method. Only II among 74 collected sesame oils were found to be pure sesame oil by FV value determination. In 63 adulterated sesame oils, it was revealed 23 samples were adulterated soybean oil, to with rice bran oil, 10 with sesame dregs extract oil, 8 with perilla seed oil, 7 with corn oil, 3 with cotton seed oil, and 2 with rape seed oil.

  • The yellow emitting OLED using GDI602:Rubrene(10%) material has been fabricated and characterized. In the device fabrication, 2-TNATA [4,4',4'-tris(2-naphthylphenyl-phenylamino)-triphenyl-amine] as a hole injection material and NPB[N,N'-bis(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-1,1'-biphenyl -4,4'-diamine] as a hole transport material were deposited on the ITO(indium thin oxide)/glass substrate by vacuum evaporation. And then, yellow emission material was deposited using GDI602 as a host material and Rubrene(10%) as a dopant. Finally, small molecular OLED with the structure of $ITO/2-TNATA/NPB/GDI602:Rubrene(10%)/Alq_{3}/LiF/Al$ was obtained by in-situ successive deposition of $Alq_{3}$, LiF and Al as the electron transport material, electron injection material and cathode. The yellow OLED fabricated in our experiments showed the color coordinate of CIE(0.50, 0.49), the luminance of $2300\;Cd/m^{2}$ and the power efficiency of 0.7 lm/W at 10 V with the peak emission wavelength of 562 nm.
