문제 해결이 수학교육의 한 목표로 강조되고 있음에도 문제 해결 지도에 있어서 여러 가지 문제점이 지적되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이러한 문제점 중의 하나는 문제 해결에 대한 교사들의 이해와 그 역할에 대한 인식 부족을 들 수 있다. 본 연구는 수학적 문제 해결 지도에서 교사의 역할 행동을 비교 분석하고, 교사의 역할 행동이 아동의 활동과 문제 해결에 대한 신념에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다.

The goal of this study is to present essential methods of minimalizing Korean populism in our society through the investigation of relations between populism and mathematical education which people don't easily recognize. We made a thorough analysis on the populism-generating elements and then presented mathematical methods which could convert micro-way of thinking into macro-one. We believe that an explicit investigation of the relations between Korean populism and mathematical education and the ensuing appropriate role-setting of mathematical education would help secure an essential solution for minimalizing populism in our society.

수학 교육에서 새로운 정보기술의 교육적 사용의 범위는 커지고 교육 모형은 다양해지고 있다. 특히 중등 수학교육에서의 변화에 대한 기대도 커지고 있다. 본 논문은 미국 및 한국의 수학 교육계의 폭넓은 지지를 받는 NCTM의 컴퓨터 및 정보기술 활용에 관한 규준들의 교육적 의미, 방법, 효용 등을 정리하였다. 이어서 컴퓨터과학 교과과정에 포함된 수학 분야에 대한 컴퓨터과학자 Hamming의 견해를 소개하였다. 본 논문은 한국의 중등 교육에도 컴퓨터과학 교과가 시행될 것을 예정하면서 수학 교사들이 미리 컴퓨터과학을 교과과정을 이해함으로 통합 교과적 요소, 특성 그리고 역할 관계를 알아보았다.

In this paper, the mathematical knowledges in higher education which are capable of improving the ability of the problem, scientific techniques and creativity are pinpointed as crucial necessary conditions for the development of the Engineering and Natural Science Sections. It is stressed most of all that the mixed evaluation of mathematics in college entrance examination is the main culprit to the crisis of these sections and thus the strengthening of the mathematics education is vital to the section. Also, another role of mathematical education for these sections is introduced.

최근 수학교육에서는 의사소통이 매우 강조되고 있다. 이는 수학적 대상에 대해 학생들이 읽고, 쓰고, 서로 토론하는 기회를 가짐으로써 (1) 학생의 입장에서는 자신의 사고를 명확히 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 서로의 아이디어를 자극 ${\cdot}$공유함으로서 학습활동을 강화할 수 있으며, (2) 교사의 입장에서는 학생들이 생각하고 있는 것에 대한 정보를 파악함으로써 교수의 질적 개선에 기여할 수 있기 때문이다. 본고에서는 수학교육에 있어서 의사소통의 방법, 의사소통에 있어서 교사의 역할, 의사소통의 지도 방안에 대해서 개괄적으로 알아보고자 한다.
