  • In the common practice of air-photographing measurement aerial-photogrammetric, the location of camera at the time of photographing is identified by performing aerotriangulation. However, installing ground-base station to enable aerotriangulation takes majority portion of a map making cost. Aerial-photogrammetric has shown a great improvement helped by steady upgrading in equipment and development in quantitative study. Aerotriangulation can be replaced by Direct Georeferencing, which uses GPS/INS to identify a camera location and to produce detailed information. An innovative technique replacing aerotriangulation, it has a disadvantage that base station has to be available in the area of photographing. The study intends to suggest a method applying VRS in GPS/INS aerotriangulation. Despite the fact that Direct Georeferencing is the innovated technique which substitutes existing aerotriangulation, it still need to install the ground-base station in GPS/INS aerotriangulation. GPS/INS data was analyzed with 4 different cases in order to accomplish the purpose of this study. In addition, in the thesis, it was approved that VRS can be utilized to make small-scale map as accurate as base station. This study is expected to improve the efficiency of work by showing that VRS can be used not only in base station but also enabling base station in the ground-access challenging area.

  • In January 2022, a new legislation was enforced to enhance the safety of underground construction. Consequently, a comprehensive assessment of underground safety is now an integral part of the planning process, including an evaluation of its impact. Ensuring the stability of temporary retaining walls during underground excavation has become paramount, prompting a heightened focus on the assessment of underground safety. This study delves into the analysis of the Multi-axis Flat Continuous Soil Cement Wall retaining wall (MFS) construction method. This method facilitates the expansion of wall thickness in the ground and provides flexibility in selecting and spacing H-piles. Through laboratory model tests, we scrutinized the load-displacement behavior of the wall, varying the H-pile installation intervals using the MFS method. Additionally, a 3-dimensional numerical analysis was conducted to explore the influence of H-pile installation intervals and sizes on the load for different thicknesses of the MFS retaining wall. The displacement analysis yielded the calculation of the height of the arching effect acting on the wall. To further our understanding, a design method was introduced, quantitatively analyzing the results of axial force and shear force acting on the wall. This involved applying the maximum arching height, calculated by the MFS method, to the existing member force review method. The axial force and shear force, contingent on the H-pile installation interval and size applied to the MFS retaining wall, demonstrated a reduction effect ranging from 24.6% to 62.9%.

  • Sexing from bovine embryos fertilized in vitro implicates a possibility of the sex controlled cattle production. This study was carried out to produce the sex determined cattle through the embryonic sexing by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technique. FISH was achieved in in vitro fertilized bovine embryos using a bovine Y-specific DNA probe constructed from the btDYZ-1 sequence. Using this probe, a male-specific signal was detected on 100% of Y-chromosome bearing metaphase specimens. The analyzable rate of embryonic sexing by FISH technique was about 93% (365/393) regardless of embryonic stages. As tested single blastomere by FISH and then karyotype with their biopsied embryos, the accuracy of sex determination with FISH was 97.6%. We tried the embryo transfer with sex determined embryos on 15 cattle. Among them, the 5 cattle delivered calf with expected sex last year.

  • Recently the exterior attaching reinforcement method is being often used by using FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) as a method of strengthening concrete structure. this FRP exterior attaching reinforcement method has several advantages like high intensity, stiffness, good durability and easy installment comparing to its weight. but its structure is airtight covered by reinforcement material whose water permeability is low and water can't be discharged, thus it may provoke a damage to the structure after a long while. the main purposes of this study are to develop GFRP reinforcement material which can discharge the surface water properly and to measure its special functions. for this, we have changed the normal reinforcement material to water permeable structure and measured its water permeance modulus by an indoor test which shows the process of water permeance with the parameter of contained GFRP quantity. also tried to verify the measured value of the water permeance modulus in theory by analyzing the numbers on water permeance process. the test result showed that the biggest quantity of water, 0.5129 g/h $m^2$ was discharged when the fiber contained quantity reached at 75% and the tensile strength was also biggest by 476.6MPa at 75%, so it appeared that COSREM GP panel with 75% fiber contained quantity is the best in ventilation and structure.

  • Recently, the development of underground structures is to be inevitably necessary due to the increase in population and traffic volume that has caused to the limit of urban land use and the heavy traffic jams. Therefore, underground structures such as subway, underground shopping centers, lifeline facilities and so on, have been increasingly constructed, On the other hand, several social problems have occurred during construction, i.e., ground subsidence, noise, and vibration. Therefore, safer and more beneficial methods for underground construction are on the demand. In this research, N.T.R.(New Tubular Roof) method has been modified and utilized for solving those problems and overcoming the difficulties connected with the bored tunnel construction of large underground openings in unfavorable ground, often under the water table, and with overburdens that are too shallow to solve problems of stability using traditional methods. The N.T.R. method has been modified to suit for Korean geotechnical conditions, and was made up for the weak points-the water leakage from walls and tops, the maintenance and the lack of stability-of the conventional methods. This paper dealt with the features and the applicability of N.T.R. Method based on the results from numerical analysis and data from in-situ monitoring system.

  • With the development of modern society, there have been great technical advances, and the meaning, shape, and type of preservation objects have also become diverse. However, the legislation of executives established in 1961 has nt yet been revised realistically. Thatses administrative problems related to the usge and storage of explosives. In this study, the cases of civilian's question and thought that had been submitted to the government agency were surveyed. In order to analyze the effects of preservation object, ENPro3.1, which is a simulation program to analyze the sound pressure, was used to estimate the blast pressure when a magazine containing preservation objects exploded. With the damage due to the blast pressure, the problem with the safe distance depending on the preservation object levels was investigated. From the investigation, the blast pressures in the two cases with the artificial structures at the real distance 309 m and without the artificial structures at the legitimate standard space distance 440 m, were found to be 123 dB(L) and 138 dB(L), respectively. That means the influence of blast pressure in shorter distance with artificial structures is 15 dB(L) lower than longer distance without them. Therefore, it is recommended to apply the preservation distance based on the engineering analysis with a consideration of surrounding environment.

  • Recently rapid-transit railway systems have been constructed in many developing countries due to its advantages in congestions and environmental problems. Railway bridges show many different aspects compared to road bridges and passenger comfort and traffic safety are one of them. In particular, deflection and acceleration due to repeated vibration characteristics have a structural weakness that can cause undesirable response. Especially steel railway bridges have been known to have weaknesses due to its relatively light weights compared to concrete bridges. The purpose of this study is to analyze the dynamic response of steel box girder bridges due to passing trains then propose the appropriate method to mitigate the level of vibration in terms of accelerations. Three steel railway bridges are tested and the numerical model to analyze the dynamic response of the bridge by passing train are developed. For the verification of the model, the natural frequency extracted using the acceleration data measured in the bridge is compared with the natural frequency of the numerical model. To mitigate the acceleration level of the bridge, parametric studies are performed to find the effectiveness of the method. Based on the analysis, the appropriate method is proposed for decreasing the acceleration of the bridge for passenger comfort and traffic safety.

  • New and renewable energy sources have drawn attention because of climate change. Many studies have been carried out in waste-to-energy field. Fast pyrolysis of waste lignocelluosic biomass is one of the waste-to-energy technologies. Bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) reactor is widely used for fast pyrolysis of the biomass. In BFB pyrolyzer, bubble behavior influences on the chemical reaction. Accordingly, in the present study, hydrodynamic characteristics and fast pyrolysis reaction of waste lignocellulosic biomass occurring in a BFB pyrolyzer are scrutinized. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of the fast pyrolysis reactor is carried out by using Eulerian-Granular approach. And two-stage semi-global kinetics is applied for modeling the fast pyrolysis reaction of waste lignocellulosic biomass. To summarize, generation and ascendant motion of bubbles in the bed affect particle behavior. Thus biomass particles are well mixed with hot sand and consequent rapid heat transfer occurs from sand to biomass particles. As a result, primary reaction is observed throughout the bed. And reaction rate of tar formation is the highest. Consequently, tar accounts for 66wt.% of the product gas. However, secondary reaction occurs mostly in the freeboard. Therefore, it is considered that bubble behavior and particle motions hardly influences on the secondary reaction.

  • Underground structures, such as compacted sand piles applied as soft ground countermeasures, are analyzed for settlement and stability by the composite ground design method. The basic principle of the composite ground design method is the arching effect. The reinforcing effect of the pile is evaluated as the stress-distribution ratio. When applying grouting piles with elastic properties using the ground reinforcement method, the existing stress-distribution ratio was only considered when the pile was installed. This study shows that the method of applying the stress-distribution ratio applied in previous studies should be changed when the ground reinforcement pile is installed at an arbitrary location in the ground without raising it to the ground surface. When high strength jet routing is applied, the stress-distribution ratio (n) to the in-situ ground generally ranges from 30 to 50. However, if the pile is located far from the surface and the depth goes down to the boundary depth of the stress sphere, the stress-distribution effect rapidly decreases, and the stress-distribution ratio converges to 1.5.
