  • This paper deals with the practical application in the way how the automatic contouring can be done by DTM, the results of investigation confirm that the digital contouring is equivalent to results from direct photogrammetric contouring. The data acquisition is restericted in 841$(29{\times}29)$ regular grid points, the interpolation is done by concepts of finite elements. finally, the output map is relatively compare with A-10 contour maps.

  • In this study we generated digital orthophoto from LIDAR data. To generate digital orthophoto, we make TIN from raw laser scanning data(XYZ point data) and compiled DSM from this TIN. In this procedure much noise appeared along the break lines in DSM and this can give bad effect to the quality of digital orthophoto. Therefore, we applied various techniques which can refine the break line. In the result, we concluded that the fusion of LIDAR DEM of lowland and extracted buildings was adequate to generating DSM. So we generated the digital orthophoto from DSM generated from this technique. In the result of quality test, the positional accuracy of this digital orthophoto was better than the positional accuracy of 1:5,000 map.

  • Generally, there are two methods which generates the base map of Geo-Spatial Information System(GSIS). one is the digitizing of existing map, and the other is the analytical plotting method editing data acquired by sensors using computers. But the analytical plotting method and method of the digitizing of existing map is technically complex and has the disadvantages in the costs and time. The subject region of study(the Kwangyang province), was photographed by aircraft, and photographing scale was 1/6,000. Then this area was divided into two specific regions, the residential area, and the agricultural area. In this study, we developed the algorithm that generated base map of database in GSIS from the aerial photo. This algorithm is as followed. First, the digital aerial photos were generated using these aerial photos. Second, these digital aerial photos were enhanced by implementing the histogram equalization. Third, the objects of the enhanced images were extracted by implementing thresholding and edged detection techiques of image segmentation. Finally, these images could be used to updated the base map of database in GSIS. The result obtained from this study showed that method used by this study were more efficient than existing method in costs and time.

  • Digital photogrammetry is one of the powerful tools for surveying in more perceptual ways and exploiting the continuously developing computer technology. Nowadays, digital photogrammetry is being used for a number of industrial measurements and inspections but the automation aspect of this technique is not fully developed yet. Photogrammetric work, which is obtained through usual workflow, delays for a big amount of CGP surveying, interpretation and cadastral information. Therefore through studying ways of reducing the volume of photogrammetric works, financial opportunities for digital photogrammetry can be found. This research is focused on the development of the new workflow and study algorithm in digital photogrammetry. Using this result we can reduce financial expenses and improve technologies of topographic and cadastral plans creation.

  • Digital Elevation Model, Ortho-image, and 3-D positional data of terrain features are indispensable elements for producing 3-D image information. In this research, digital pbotogrammetric studies were conducted to measure the 3-D positional data on high performance computer systems in order to replace analytical stereo-plotter-oriented tasks with those of digital workstations. Especially, technical approaches to measure these data on stereo workstation were developed and then the results were applied on SPOT satellite images. As the result of this study, the possibilities of the proposed technologies were tested and proved based on the ap-plication of the digital photogrammetric processes to extract 3-D ground coordinates of terrain features from digital satellite imagery.

  • Digital photogrammetry is growing today using inexpensive personal confuter and digital image Processing technique instead of expensive analytical plotter in data acquisition from aerial photograph. Ortho photo in replacement of paper map is indispensable in the application of Geo-Spatial Information System and research activities about it are active in the domestic domain. Also the availability of ortho photo is greatly various in existing related fields using topographic map and expected to be used for new technology in near future. For this purpose, design of each module for ortho photo has been carried out with digital map and image. It was shown that the batch program for ortho photo generation developed in this study, could be used effectively as an effective data acquisition method for GSIS.

  • This study describes the precise DTM by image processing method through scanning the positive film of aerial photo using scanner instead of plotter. First, scanned the positive film of aerial photo by drum scanner and flatbed scanner in different resolution, and then compared the height from image processing method using auto correlation method with height which is taken using $50^m{\times}50^m$ grid in 1 :5,000 geographical map. It shows that heights from aerial photo image of high resolution obtained from scanner are comparable to the heights from 1:5,000 geographical map.

  • According to the development of technologies for generating the 3D spatial information, the needs for producing and updating the precise 3D objects with LoD 4 level are increased. On the other hand, the needs for real-time updating of 2D digital maps are expanded, based on the execution of various GIS projects. These 2D informations can be extracted from precisely constructed 3D spatial information, to do this the feasibility studies on extraction of the 2D information from the 3D spatial information is needed. In this study, 3D objects are modeled using multi-oblique images, and the objects are stereo-plotted using digital airborne images, as well. Then the two data sets are compared and analyzed. The results show that the accuracy assessments fulfill the 1/1,000 digital map accuracy standard of regulations for photogrametric surveying of National Geographic Information Institute, but the shapes and the areas of building objects are different between two data sets because of the portrayal standards. Consequently, researchers can conclude that it is possible to generate the building layer of large scale topographic map using multi-oblique images, but additional researches is needed to resolve the problems on differences of the portrayal standards.

  • Currently, in Korea, aerial photogrammetry is being studied for cadastral boundaries and numerical maps. Since the announced value of cadastral survey is closely related to ownership, the accuracy and reliability of the published value should be emphasized above all else. However, although aerial photogrammetry has great advantages in economic feasibility and surveying efficiency, it has many limitations when extracting the boundary of cadastral survey based on the acquired image. In order to improve these limitations, in this study, an aerial target was applied to obtain reliability improvement. Therefore, in order to examine the usefulness of aerial photogrammetry for cadastral survey application, cadastral boundary extraction and accuracy comparison analysis were conducted.
