A Study on Risk Sharing of PPI Project Demand Risk (민간투자사업 수요위험 분담 방식에 관한 연구)

  • One of key success factors in PPI(Public Private Investment) is the structure of risk sharing between the public and the private, and the determination mechanism of fair return to private participants relative to the risk that private participants undertake. In Korea, two basic types of PPI exist. One is BTO and the other is BTL. In BTO, most risks are taken by the private whereas the opposite is the case in BTL. No intermediate form exists. As a result, BTO type projects had difficulty in attracting private participants because of the excessive risks. In this study, one intermediate form is studied where demand risk is shared between the public and the private. In the setting where the public authority takes all the project revenues and then pays ladder type payments to private participants depending upon the level of project revenues, appropriate level of fixed payments is endogenously derived using the real option pricing model. From the fixed payments, expected investment returns are calculated based upon a certain distributional assumption. The results of this study is expected to help introducing diverse forms of PPI in Korea.

Novel Database Classification and Life Estimation Model for Accurate Database Asset Valuation

  • In the future knowledge society, the importance of business data is expected to increase, and it is recognized as a raw material for companies to manufacture product or develop service. As the importance of data increases, methods to calculate the economic value of database assets is being studied. There are many studies to evaluate the value of database assets, but the characteristics of database assets are not fully reflected. In this study, we classified database assets into revenue-type, non-revenue-type, and public-type database assets by considering the characteristics of database assets. In addition, focusing on the fact that revenue-type database assets can be valued similarly to existing technology valuation, we developed a method for calculating the life of database assets that includes risk-adjusted discount rate.

  • This paper proposes a way to a risk quantification of public sector comparator in the value-for-money test of the BTL (Build-Transfer-Lease) scheme in rail investment projects. Two principal risks that are project delay and budget increasing costs are identified and are empirically quantified with a case study of the Haman-Jinju link. The methodology suggested is expected to be a good reference for the similar research afterwards and also to help in settling down the scheme that is only an early stage.

  • The demand for small-sized housing has been increasing due to the recession of real-estate price and the increase of small-sized households. Especially, the demand for affordable housing has been increasing since the style of housing and the location fits the lifestyle of small-sized household. In addition, many investors have been buying it because it has advertised as an investment property holding high-return ratio. However, an empirical analysis about the selling price and the return ratio has not been done yet. Therefore, the purpose of the research is having the empirical analysis based on the selling price and return ration by examining the affordable housing in Seoul. The urban-life housing more than 50 generations of the Seoul was irradiated for the analysis. And the linear regression analysis and PLS(Partial Least Square Regression) analysis was used for the empirical analysis. The result of analysis, based on the linear regression analysis, showed that factors including neighboring housing price and subway catchment area have a significant effect to the determinant factors of housing price. The analysis for return ratio showed neighboring housing price, subway catchment area and amenities affects the ratio. Especially, the fault of using small sample was covered by using the partial least square regression in this research.

  • 생산자는 제품의 생산이나 판매에 소요되는 비용보다 낮은 가격으로 제품을 판매하지 않을 것이며, 신규시장의 진입에 따른 불활실성과 기타 영업비용의 지출로 인해 어느 정도 수익이 감소할 경우도 있다. 또한 CRM은 제품의 수익성을 논하는 것이 아니고, 수요자의 필요성을 만족시키기 위해 수요자와 관계를 발전시키고 궁극적으로 이윤을 창출하게 하는 분야이다. 그러므로 Customer Profitability Analysis(CPA)의 궁극적인 목표는 각 개인의 수익성을 평가하기 위하여 개인별 수입과 비용을 추적하는 것이 된다. 전력시장의 경우 경쟁체제로 변하고 있으며 전력사업자는 기존 고객을 어떻게 유지하고 이탈을 방지하느냐가 중요한 이슈로 떠오를 전망이다, 따라서 민간부분 경쟁 강화 등에 대비하여 기존 고객유지를 위한 서비스강화와 고객에게 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하여 수익성을 확보해야 한다. 본 논문은 CPA의 궁극적인 목표를 전력산업에 반영하여 전력사업자의 수익을 위한 전력서비자의 수익 성분석에 대한 방법론을 제시하고자 한다.

Profit Model for Network Contents Service using QoE (QoE를 이용한 네트워크 콘텐츠 서비스 수익모델 설계 및 분석)

  • Conventional content-delivering services over the Internet were mainly based on the "best effort" scheme, which have been failed to provide a concrete profit model to the content providers. Mean while, a quality assuring network service is expected to provide reasonable profit model. However the relation between the cost and profit of the quality service is under studies. Recently, the Quality of Experience (QoE) was introduced to measure the real satisfaction level of users and used to develope profit models of quality services. The QoE can be used as a key tool for efficient service providing and also criteria for accurate satisfaction measurement. Especially, the QoE based feedback on the intention to pay for the service will be an important information to the content providers. This paper will introduce a model for the costs of quality services, and a profit model based on the QoE. The result of the paper can be used to develope business models for contents services over the growing networks.
