  • Purpose: This research was conducted to the comparison of flipped learning on nursing students' learning motivation, learning attitude and problem solving ability. Method: Flipped learning was a learner-centered learning method. This study was conducted on 93 nursing students and 4th grade students taking community nursing. This study was a comparative experimental study of single group. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 20.0 program. Results: The results of this study showed that the instruction of the flip learning application was statistically different from that before the test in the learning motivation (t=-2.149, p=.034) and problem solving ability (t=2.210, p=.030). However, there was no statistically significant difference in learning attitude. It is thought that the flipped-learning classes was progressed with the learner-centered, and the learner was given a lot of tasks and the preparation time was required. The classes with the flip learning was effective for the motivation and problem solving ability improvement. Conclusion: Therefore, in the next study, it is necessary to design a classes that complements this part in order to positively increase the students' attitude of learning. I would like to apply flipped-learning classes in various subjects.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect on the middle school students' attitude toward environment and interest in regional ecology and environment problem with PBL. The experimental group was made up with 96 students who were sampled for this study, and PBL program was applied to this group. The controlled group consisted of 103 students who were sampled this study, and traditional teaching method was applied to this group. The result is as follows: First, there was a statistically meaningful difference in attitude toward environment between two groups(F=51.929, p<0.1). It shows that PBL is very effective in attitude toward environment. Second, there was a statistically meaningful difference in interest for regional ecology and environment problem between two groups(F=9.707, p<0.1). It shows that PBL is an effective way to take learners' interest in regional ecology and environment problem. Third, The interview result shows that students who were applied to PBL comprehensed causes, solution and importances of the environment problem. Furthermore, the self-directed learning in PBL can make learners control their learning.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of science lesson with the application of Flipped Learning on science academic achievement and scientific attitude of students. The experimental group was composed of 50 students and the comparative group was composed of 50, both in $6^{th}$ grade. The two groups were statistically equivalent in their science academic achievement and scientific attitude when pre-tests were conducted. The experimental group received science instruction applied with Flipped Learning and the comparative group took typical science lesson according to a teacher's guide. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the science lesson with the application of Flipped Learning was more significantly effective in improving students' science academic achievement than traditional science lesson. Second, the science lesson combined with Flipped Learning enhanced scientific attitudes of students with meaningful difference more than typical science lesson. Third, a survey research was conducted to the experimental group about their cognition on the lessons with the application of Flipped Learning. Many students had positive thoughts on this lesson and they thought the lesson was very interesting and understandable.

The inquiry examined the effectiveness of each of the following free inquiry methods: the PBL inquiry, the Project inquiry, the IIM inquiry, the small group inquiry and the science notebooks inquiry. The students were divided into groups in which they incorporated the respective methods into their practice. Test showed the following results: The environmental class which applies a free inquiry method(PBL inquiry, Project inquiry, IIM inquiry, small group inquiry and science notebooks) was effective in science process skills improvement. Second, The environmental class which applies a free inquiry method((PBL inquiry, Project inquiry, IIM inquiry, small group inquiry and science notebooks) was effective in environment-friendly attitude improvement.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the efffcts of science instruction using argumentation, with Tolumin's structure of argument, on students' learning motivation and scientific attitude. In the instruction, well-structured problems selected to be argument, in which interactions among students are stressed. The subjects were classified into two groups: One group is composed of sixty-seven students (experimental group) who were participated in solving processes of the scientific argument tasks, and the other is composed of sixty-nine students (comparative group) who were participated in the traditional teaching method. The results of this study implied that experimental group has a positive effect on students' learning motivation and scientific attitude.

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of using concept mapping as an instructional tool on 4th graders' achievement, science learning motivation, and attitude toward science classes. Two classes (38 students) from an elementary school were respectively assigned to a control group and a treatment group. Students were taught about "expansion of matter by heat" and "heat transfer". These topics were chosen because they require students to understand more concepts as well as relationships among them. A science learning motivation test and an attitude toward science classes test were administered as pretests. A researcher-made achievement test, the science learning motivation test, and the attitude toward science classes test were administered as posttests. The results indicated that using concept mapping in 4th-grade science classes was not significantly effective in improving students' achievement though a statistically significant positive effect was found in the subcategory of knowledge. No statistically significant effect of using concept mapping was found in the scores of the science learning motivation test and the attitude toward science classes test. Educational implications are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Jigsaw small inquiry method on science academic achievement and scientific attitudes. For this study, two classes of six graders were divided into a research group and a comparative group. The classes were pre-tested in order to ensure the same standard. The research group had the science class with Jigsaw small inquiry method, and the comparative group had the class with a teacher centered lectures for 12 classes for 12 weeks. The Jigsaw small inquiry method was focused on the introduction stage, the whole group activities, professional group activities, restart the whole group activities, supplementary structured study guide, results announced, and excellent group rewards. To prove the effects of this study, science learning motivation was split up based on the attention power, relation, confidence, and sense of satisfaction. The results of this study are as follows. First, Jigsaw small inquiry method is effective in science academic achievement. Second, Jigsaw small inquiry method is effective in scientific attitudes. Also, Jigsaw small inquiry method was approved by students. Consequently, Jigsaw small inquiry method had the great effects on developing science academic achievement for the elementary science class. That means the science class with Jigsaw small inquiry method has potential to develop science academic achievement and scientific attitudes.

  • The purpose of this study were to develop VR-based cooking serious game(VR-Cook) for students with intellectual disabilities and to validate effectiveness. The VR-Cook was developed using the ASSURE model. Twenty students with intellectual disabilities were participated to verify effectiveness. Ten students were assigned to the experimental group and the others to the control group. The control group received traditional interventions, and the experimental group participated in the intervention combining traditional intervention with VR-Cook. Evaluations were made at three times, and evaluation data were analyzed with repeated two-way ANOVA. The experimental group has improved more than control group in cooking activities and class attitudes.
