Design of LNB for Direct Broadcast Satellite Reception (위성수신용 LNB에 관한 연구)

  • 위성방송 수신을 위한 S-band용 LNB를 유전율3.48, 기판두께 0.762mm의 기판을 사용하여 NF=0.9 dB, 변환이득 56dB, Gain Flatness +0.7dB/27MHz을 만족하도록 설계하였으며 대역통과필터는 원하는 대역내에서 삽입손실 -2dB, 반사계수 -l2dB 이하의 결과를 얻었다. 발진기는 3.62GHz에서 6.17dBm의 출력을 나타내었으며 위상잡음은 중심주파수 3.62GHz의 100kHz offset 지점에서 -98 dBc/Hz의 특성을 얻었다.

  • In this paper, The design and implementation of Multi Channel Receiver is described in this paper. This Receiver system operates at X-band with processing received signal, more than 80[dB] dynamic range and wide-band signals at the same time. To process direct received signals, this system has the built-in Digital De-modulators which offer the minimum loss on the receiving signal pass and has high stability by adding Built-In Test (BIT). The performance of Multi Receiver is the following. The gain, noise figure, difference of amplitude and phase on the signal pass is respectively $14{\pm}2[dB]$, 19[dB], ${\pm}2[dB]$, and $10^{\circ}$ below.

  • In this paper, we examined receiving parameters of receiver and also analyzed them through simulation based on J-STD-018, which is the minimum specification of PCS mobile station. Receiving system was made a passive double balance mixer which has low gain and high IIP3, and an intermediate frequency amplifier for enhancing the low gain. The result of simulating receiving parameter is as follows: noise figure which is the parameter of specification of the receiving sensitivity is 6.746dB, IIP3 which is the parameter of specification of the intermodulation spurious response attenuation is -11.358dBm.

  • Three types of array antennas are developed for broadcasting band of Koreasat III. First, the specification of the array antenna is decided. Second, characteristics and advantages of three types of antennas using the radial waveguide characteristics is investigated and discussed. Third, design method fur those antenna is studied to meet antenna specifications, and then antennas are designed and tested. Finally, it is concluded that these types of antennas can be efficiently design compared to both parabola antennas and microstrip array within the limited size.

  • 본 논문에서는 Hybrid SC/MRC-Lc/L 다이버시티 수신 기법과 콘볼루션 부호화 기법을 각각 또는 함께 이용할 때의 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템의 성능 개선을 구하였다. 우선 다중경로 페이딩 및 다중접속간섭의 영향을 분석하고, 두 기법에 의한 성능 개선 정도를 구하여 비교, 분석하였다. Hybrid SC/MRC-Lc/L 수신에서는 각각의 반송파에 대하여 상관을 취하고 상관기 출력들 중에서 가장 큰 신호성분을 Lc개만큼 선택하여 최대비 합성하며, 콘볼루션 부호화는 다중경로 페이딩 및 다중접속간섭에 의하여 발생된 오류를 정정 및 검출한다. 분석 결과, 콘볼루션 부호화 기법을 채용함으로서 성능이 현저하게 개선되는데, 부호이득과 전력제한 사이에 trade off를 고려하여 부호화 율( r)을 선택할 필요가 있다는 것과 하이브리드 SC/MRC-L$^{c}$ /L 수신에서는 입력 다이버시티 가지의 수 (L)가 많을수록 선택의 폭이 넓어지며, 적절한 숫자의 다이버시티 가지의 선택이 시스템의 복잡성과 성능 대 비용 등을 결정한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문은 ATSC방식의 지상파 DTV의 이동수신 성능 개선을 위해 적응 어레이 안테나를 사용하여 입사되는 신호의 위상 정보를 통해 원하는 신호원의 방향을 찾고 주신호와 다중경로 신호 사이에 capon알고리즘을 통해 최대의 이득을 얻는 최적의 빔을 형성하며 이동수신채널인 도플러효과가 포함된 다중경로신호득의 영향을 약화시킨다. 빔형성 알고리즘을 통한 채널의 개선이 LMS 알고리즘을 사용한 통화기의 성능을 얼마나 향상시키는지 전산 모의 실험을 통해 확인하였다.

Layered Receivers for System Combined Layered Space-Time Processing and Space-Time Trellis Codes (계층화 시공간 구조와 시공간 트렐리스 부호를 결합한 시스템에 적합한 계층화 수신기)

  • The system combined layered space-time processing and space-time trellis codes (STTC) provide high transmission rate as well as diversity and coding gain without bandwidth expansion. In this paper, two layered receiver structures are proposed. One is the LSTT-MMSE in which received bit streams are decoupled by interference nulling and then decoded by separate STTC decoders. The decoded outputs are cancelled from the received signal before advancing to the next layer detection. The other is LSTT-Whitening employing whitening rather than nulling. The receiver employing whitening process shows several advantages on diversity gain and the required number of receive antennas compare to the convolutional coded space-time processing. The proposed receivers use different decoding order scheme according to each interference suwression. The (4, 3) LSTT-Whitening receiver still achieves 1㏈ gain over the (4, 4) LSTT-MMSE and the (4, 4) coded layered space-time processing.

  • A wideband RF receiver for satellite mobile communications system was fabricated and evaluated of performance in low noise amplifier and high gain amplifier. The low noise amplifier used to the resistive decoupling and self-bias circuits. The low noise amplifier is fabricated with both the RF circuits and the self-bias circuits. Using a INA-03184, the high gain amplifier consists of matched amplifier type. The active bias circuitry can be used to provide temperature stability without requiring the large voltage drop or relatively high-dissipated power needed with a bias stabilized resistor. The bandpass filter was used to reduce a spurious level. As a result, the characteristics of the receiver implemented here show more than 55 dB in gain, 50.83 dBc in a spurious level and less than 1.8 : 1 in input and output voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR), especially the carrier to noise ratio is a 43.15 dB/Hz at a 1 KHz from 1537.5 MHz.

  • This paper proposes an efficient scheme to estimate the channel parameters such as channel gain and delay for the IEEE802.15.4a LR-UWB systems. Sliding window (SW) method is generally used for the channel estimation of LR-UWB systems, which extracts the channel parameters by performing the cross-correlation with the repeatedly transmitted signal. However, the SW method experiences the severe performance degradation because the cross-correlation is performed just once for the received signal. In this paper, we propose a novel channel estimation scheme, which can achieve a great performance gain by performing the cross-correlation repeatedly with the repeated receive signal. In order to verify the performance gain of the proposed scheme, we performed the intensive simulation with the Saleh-Valenzuela channel model. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has a performance improvement of 4dB compared to the conventional SW channel estimation scheme.
