On the Transportation Efficiency of Barge System in Kyongin Canal (경인운하용 바아지시스템의 수송효율에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the coastal transportation of the Yellow Sea is increasing due to the vastly expanding trade among countries surrounding the Yellow Sea. As the 50 percentages of the total domestic container transportation are concentrated on the National Capital region, the traffic congestion in the key land transportation routes brings about the weakening of the global competitiveness. In this study, the efficient barge systems for sea-river shipping of the Han-river, the Kyongin canal and coastal ways of the Yellow Sea are considered based on the criterion of canal and cargo volumes. To find the efficient barge system of the model barge in the Kyongin canal. the transport efficiency factor and transport ability of each barge system with the variation of sailing speed and length are calculated.

On the Seasonal Transports of Freshwater and Salt in the Tropical Atlantic Ocean (열대 대서양에서의 계절별 담수 및 염분의 수송)

  • The transports of the seasonal freshwater and salt from surface to 500 m depth in the tropical Atlantic Ocean are derived from the equations of the continuity and saltconservation, respectively. The freshwater transport is obtained by southward integration of the divergence of surface freshwater flux, using climatological freshwater(i. e. precipitation, evaporation, and river discharge) data. The annual freshwater transport is northward, ranging from 0 Sv near the equator to 0.3 Sv at $12^{\circ}{\;}N{\;}and{\;}20^{\circ}{\;}S$. The seasonal meridional transport amounts of freshwater range from 1.35 Sv to-0.45 Sv. The strong northward freshwater transports prevail for the intraseasonal period summer to fall. This seasonal cycle is caused by the shifts of the ITCZ as well as the changes in the local freshwater storage. Annual and seasonal salt transports are calculated from objectively analyzed historical (1900-86) salinity observations. The annual salt flux in the ocean zero, showing that the salt flux by horizontal advection balances the flux by horizontal diffusion. The salt flux due to the diffusion is northward, and has a maximum of $5{\;}{\times}{\;}10^6kg/s$ at 15oN. Seasonal transport amounts of salt range from $30{\;}{\times}{\;}10^6kg/s{\;}to{\;}-35{\;}{\times}10^6kg/s$. The direction of the seasonal salt transports is northward except for the intraseasonal period summer to fall.

Modeling Domestic Transportation Sector Using Global Change Assessment Model (GCAM을 이용한 국내 수송부문 모델링)

  • In this study, we discuss the modeling of domestic transport sector using GCAM(Global Change Assessment Model). The GCAM is one of integrated assessment models widely used in internationally modeling community, and applied for the evaluation of IPCC 5th Report. Nevertheless, it is noted that there are a considerable number of problems in its application to domestic transport sector. First, the base year information of GCAM for detailed transportation service demand is found not consistent with national statistics. Second, the transportation sector simulation results do not properly reflect the past trends of service demand. Thus, the base year service demand is carefully matched with the detailed national statistics. In addition, the existing models were checked and modified so that the simulation results of service demand can accurately reflect past trends of national statistics. As a result, it is reported in detail how the current GCAM simulation results are corrected and how the trend of past transportation sector service demands is properly reflected. This study is expected to be useful as a basic tool for future scenario analysis for transportation policy, technology evaluation and greenhouse gas reduction measures.

The Change of Water Vapor Transport due to Global Warming (지구 온난화에 따른 물 수송 변화)

  • This research is an analysis of the water vapor transport change Into the continent due to the global warming effect with the general circulation models. Water vapor transport change from ocean to land increases through the year due to CO2 doubling effect. In Eurasia, it indicates an increase about 170∼350${\times}$06 Mt/day the whole year. In Africa, it shows an decrease every month except November, especially there is the maximum decrease about -350${\times}$106 Mt/day during August-September. In other continents, excluding Eurasia and Africa, the change of water vapor transport vary with the month below $\pm$8.0${\times}$106 Mt/day with the unsystematic patterns. In Eurasia, the change of water vapor transport increases as a whole, but it decrease in desert areas which occupy a high area-ratio. Therefore, except desert areas, the amount of the growth in water vapor transport change concentrate on Asian monsoon area. As a result of monsoon strengthening, available water will grow considerably at the asian monsoon areas.

  • The site of Korea Final Repository, KFR, to collect and dispose of radioactive wastes produced in nuclear power plants will be selected to seaside. As all the radwastes stored temporarily in the site of power plants should be transported by the sea, Nuclear Environmental Management Center, NEMAC, of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, KAERI, has been developing the sea transport system to secure safe and efficient transportation of the radwastes from the power plant sites to the final repository. Investigating the status of advanced techniques of foreign countries for transport vessels and considering inland circumstances, the technical criteria of the transport vessel have been suggested in this study. Therefore, all the radwastes will be transported safely by the sea, without releasing any radioactive material to environment even in the case of accident.

  • Parenchyma cells of Streptanthus tortus suspension cultures possessed the different transport system for aldose-formed D-glucose and for ketose-formed D-fructose. $K_{m}$ value for D-glucose and D-fructose were 0.28mM and 15.02mM, respectively. $K_{m}$ value of D-mannose was 0.44 mM which is similar to the D-glucose transport system, but D-mannose was transported also through its own special uptake system. Parenchyma cells possessed the transport system of L-glucose, but the function of L-glucose was not known at all. Protoplast of parenchyma cells possessed only the monosugars transport system, but didn't possess the disugars, sucrose transport system. Early developing phloem protoplasts possessed glucose and sucrose transport system at the same time. On the contrary, in the complete developed phloem cells disappeared preexisted glucose transport system in the parenchyma cells, only new induced sucrose transport system existed.ted.

도핑된 전자수송층을 가진 녹색 유기발광소자에서 전하 전송 및 발광효율 향상 메카니즘

  • 유기발광소자는 자발광소자의 강점들과 낮은 구동 전압으로 발광효율이 높아 디스플레이 소자와 백색 조명 광원으로 응용 가능성 때문에 발광효율 증진에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 유기물 내에서의 정공의 이동도가 전자의 이동도보다 높아 발광층에서 정공과 전자의 수의 불균형이 나타나 재결합율이 떨어져 발광효율이 낮아지는 문제점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 전자의 이동도의 향상을 통한 발광층에서의 정공과 전자 재결합 효율을 향상하기 위해 전자수송층과 발광층으로 사용되는 tris(8-hydroxyquinolate)aluminum (Alq3)층에 Alq3보다 높은 전자이동도를 가지는 7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (BPhen)을 전자 수송층에 도핑하여 유기발광소자를 제작하였다. 2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline을 정공저지층으로 사용하여 제작된 단일전자 소자를 이용하여 BPhen이 도핑된 전자 수송층을 사용한 소자가 Alq3만을 전자 수송층으로 사용한 소자보다 같은 전압에서 더 높은 전류밀도를 나타내었다. 전류밀도-전압특성 측정으로 전하 수송 메카니즘을 관찰하였다. 두 가지 전자 수송층을 사용하여 발광 소자를 제작하여 발광세기와 발광효율을 측정한 결과 도핑 된 전자 수송층을 사용하여 제작된 발광소자에서 발광세기와 발광효율이 향상되었다. 발광세기와 발광효율이 향상된 원인은 도핑된 전자수송층에서 높아진 전자의 이동도로 인하여 발광층에서 정공과 전자의 이동도가 균형을 이루어 전자-정공의 재결합 확률이 증가하기 때문이다. 도핑 된 전자 수송층을 사용하여 제작된 유기발광소자의 발광효율 향상에 대한 원인을 실험결과를 사용하여 설명 할 것이다.

Transport Distance Affects the Quality of Both Mature and Ripe Tomato Fruits (수송거리에 따른 녹숙 및 적숙 토마토의 품질변화)

  • Tomato fruits(Lycopersicon esculentum $M_{ILL}$.) picked at mature (from mature green to breaker) and ripe (from pink to red) stage were packed into two layers in corrugated fiberbox and transported 200km and 400km from the harvested site. Loss (abrasion + cracking) in marketability was lowest (11.0%) from mature + 200km transport, followed by mature + 400km transport(13.5%), ripe + 200km transport(28.5%), and ripe + 400km transport (45.5%). When data were pooled by fruit maturity, firmness of mature fruit was 1.55 times higher than ripe fruit. However, vitamin C content was 1.25 times higher in ripe fruit than in mature fruit. Fruit transported longer distance and packed in bottom layer within a box exhibited lower firmness and vitamin C content in both maturity. It was concluded that it is desirable to transport relatively shorter distance for ripe tomato and longer distance for less ripe fruit.

Thermal Analysis for Dry Transport of a Shipping Cask (수송용기의 건식수송에 대한 열해석)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the thermal safety for dry transport of a shipping cask. Analysis condition was based on an ambient temperature of 38$^{\circ}C$ for normal heat condition. The cask was designed to carry 4PWR spent fuel assemblies with a burnup of 38,000 MWD/MTU and 3 years of cooling time. Thermal analysis was carried out by using the COBRA-SFS code. The fuel cavity was considered to be filled with air, nitrogen or helium gas for dry transport. The results of analysis showed that the maximum temperatures of fuel rod cladding in air and helium cavity would be 277$^{\circ}C$ and 226$^{\circ}C$, respectively, for 3 years of cooling time. These values were less than the specified temperature to maintain the thermal integrity of fuel assembly for dry transport.

  • 유기 분자들은 대부분 전기가 잘 통하지 않아, 그 응용이 매우 제한적이었으나, 1985년의 C. W. Tang 교수의 다층 구조 전자소자의 보고를 기점으로 급격한 발전을 이루었다. 현재는 유기분자를 이용한 디스플레이인 AMOLED(아몰레드)를 적용한 스마트폰, TV등이 상용화 되었을 정도로 기술 성숙도가 매우 높아졌다. 그러나 여전히 분자 시스템에서의 전하 수송에 대해서는 하나의 정립된 모델이 없다. 일례로, 밴드 수송과 호핑 수송 등 두 가지 다른 전하수송 특성이 보고되고 있다. 본 발표에서는 계면 에너지레벨 접합과, 분자층 내부의 분자간 상호작용(호핑 수송 위주로) 측면에서 분자 시스템의 전하 수송에 대해 논의한다.
