  • T.A.B란 공기조화설비에 대한 종합시험조정으로 시험, 조정 및 균형(Testing, Adjusting & Balancing)이라는 뜻이다. 이는 설계 목적에 부합되도록 모든 빌딩의 환경시스템을 검토하고, 조정하는 과정이다. 따라서 T.A.B기술은 공기 및 물이라는 유체의 흐름과 온 습도에 관련된 분야이기 때문에 시각적으로 그 성과를 알아보기 힘들고, T.A.B를 적용한 후 결과치를 정밀 분석해 판단할 수 있으며 T.A.B기술을 적용하지 않은 건물과 간접비교하는 방법으로 그 효과를 쉽게 알 수 있다. T.A.B기술을 적용할 경우 시공 중인 건물에 설계도서가 완료되기 전, 또는 장비의 구매발주 전에 T.A.B측면에서 모든 기술 도서를 면밀히 검토하게 된다. 그 중 일부에서 발견되는 문제점들 즉, 적정치 못한 용량 선정, 시스템 구성상 미비점, 불필요한 장비 선정, 누락 사항을 발견할 수 있다. 따라서 T.A.B 기술을 적용할 경우 향상된 품질의 시공이 가능해 준공 후 빈번히 대두되는 하자 문제가 현격히 줄게 되며 또한 운전경비 절감, 쾌적한 실내환경 조성, 장비수명 연장 등 효율적인 운전관리 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 우리나라 공기조화설비기술은 꾸준한 발전을 이루었고, 최근에는 도입 초기단계시 전혀 고려되지 않던 공조공간의 쾌적성 및 소음 방지 대책 등의 문제가 주요사항으로 부각되고 있다. 이에 따라 공조설비에 T.A.B실행의 표준화 정착과정에 있으며, 국내 학계 및 연구기관에서 공조설비에 대한 연구 및 T.A.B용역업체의 기술축적 등 T.A.B분야 발전을 위해 노력하고 있다. 본지는 T.A.B의 수행절차 및 수행계획, TAB 수행업체 등에 대해 알아본다.

Development of accelerated life test method for mechanical components using Weibull-IPL(Inverse Power Law) model (와이블-역승법을 이용한 기계류부품의 가속시험 방법 개발)

  • This study was performed 10 develop the accelerated life test method using Weibull-IPL(Inverse Power Law) model for mechanical components. Weibull-IPL model is concerned with determining the assurance life with confidence level and the accelerated life test time From the relation of weibull distribution factors and confidence limit, the testing times on the no number of failure acceptance criteria arc determined. The mechanical components generally represent wear and fatigue characteristics as a failure mode. IPL based on the cumulative damage theory is applied effectively the mechanical components to reduce the testing time and to achieve the accelerating test conditions. As the actual application example, accelerated life test method of agricultural tractor transmission was described. Life distribution of agricultural tractor transmission was supposed to follow Weibull distribution and life test time was calculated under the conditions of average life (MTBF) 3,000 hours and 90% confidence level for one test sample. According to IPL, because test time call be shorten in case increase test load test time could be reduced by 482 hours when we put the load 1.1 times of rated load than 0.73 times of rated load that is equivalent load calculated by load spectrum of the agricultural tractor. This time, acceleration coefficient was 11.7.

  • The flaw tolerance evaluation requirement prescribed in Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) §29.571 Amendment 55 was established in 2012. As a result, there are not many datas of flaw tolerance evaluation. This paper introduces the series of processes and evaluation methods carried out for certification based on the flaw tolerance evaluation. An initial flaws were artificially formed on the main rotor actuator and then the damage tolerance test was performed, which was twice life time of design requirements, to demonstrate that the main rotor actuator of the rotorcraft is sufficiently capable of flaw tolerance.

A Study on the Effect of the Stop-hole on the Fatigue Crack Growth Rates in Tensile Members (인장부재(引張部材)에 뚫은 Stop-hole 이 피로균열성장율(疲勞龜裂成長率)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 관한 연구(研究))

  • Stop-hole method is one of the conventional methods for the temporary repair or reinforcement of the member in the case that the structural steel member has a fatigue crack. In this study, the stop-hole method. have been estimated quantitatively in terms of survival life time of the side edge cracked specimen. For this purpose, fatigue tests have been performed on the test specimens and the fatigue crack growth rates of the structural steel (SS41) members have been measured under load of constant amplitude. The results of this experiment show that it is desirable to use the stop-hole method before the crack reaches the region of elasto-plastic behaviour.

Evaluation of the Activation Energy of Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride (CPVC) Using Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA를 이용한 Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride(CPVC)의 활성화 에너지 평가)

  • The activation energy of CPVC (Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride) used for non-metallic synthetic resin piping in fire-fighting was measured by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The activation energy was determined using by TGA kinetic methods, such as Kissinger and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method. The calculated activation energy was 128.07 kJ/mol (Kissinger method) and 145.60 kJ/mol (Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method). The difference in activation energies calculated by the Kissinger method and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method was not considered to be significant considering that the different analysis methods. The combustion characteristics will be tested in a future study through an evaluation of thermal deterioration using an accelerated deterioration and air oven aging test and the lifetime of CPVC will be predicted.

A Study on the Fatigue Strength of the Welded Joints in Steel Structures(II) (강구조물(鋼構造物)의 용접연결부(鎔接連結部)의 피로강도(疲勞强度)에 관한 연구(研究)(II))

  • Welded connectors of the cover plates, the transverse stiffeners of the plate girders, and the gusset plates of the plates girders or box girders, were selected as studying objects. A simplified method of drawing the S-N curves in these welded joints by a computer program without the direct fatigue tests was established. The plots on the S-N curve using the values from the practical fatigue tests were compared with the results from the method of the computer programming. The results of these studies are as follows. It appeared that the fatigue life by calculation method was a little less than the practical fatigue life from the actual tests. The latter values included both life $N_c$ of occurrence of initial crack $a_i$ and the life $N_p$ of propagation of critical crack. On the other hand, the former values included only the life $N_p$. Therefore, these results should be considered as justifiable ones. Since the difference between the two results was not significant, the results by calculation method should be in the conservation side when the safety of the structures was considered. Consequently, the results by calculation method should be applicable to the fracture fatigue design of structure. For reference, the same fatigue tests were performed with the specimens of 3 pieces in each case made of the low-strength steel, SS 41. The results went unexpected showing that the fatigue strength was lower in the case of low-strength steel. That is, in the case of the cover plate, the fatigue strength became slowly higher than the case of high-strength steel, SWS 50. That was observed when the maximum testing stress was higher than $14kg/mm^2$. In addition, in the case of the transverse stiffener, the fatique strength became rapidly higher than the case of SWS 50. That was observed when the maximum testing stress was lower than $31kg/mm^2$. It was thought that more such fatigue tests should be performed for more reliable results.

  • Composite cylinder is used by hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and natural gas vehicles because of high specific modulus, specific strength and fatigue resistance. composite cylinder has a seamless integrated liner and it is fully overwrapped with structural fibers of high strength carbon fibers in an epoxy matrix. In this study, filament winding pattern and autofrettage pressure design technique are presented considering structural weakness of knuckle and compressive residual stress. Presented methodology is verified by pressure cycling test of composite cylinders.

  • 기본적으로 많은 인자들에 의해 영향을 받는 배터리 시스템은 일반적으로 사용 용도에 따라 단위 배터리 셀을 직렬 또는 병렬로 연결하여 하나의 배터리 모듈을 형성하고 있다. 다수개의 단위 배터리 셀을 연결하여 하나의 배터리 모듈로 사용하는 경우, 개별 셀의 활물질 및 전해액의 미소 변동, 충방전 사이클 차이, 온도의 영향에 따라 배터리 특성이 다르게 나타난다. 이러한 특성으로 인해 충전 및 방전이 진행됨에 따라 셀간의 전압 불균형 현상이 발생하고 이로 인해 배터리 수명은 급격하게 감소하여 배터리 교체와 같은 경제적 손실을 초래한다. 본 논문에서는 배터리의 성능과 안전성을 확보하기 위해 배터리 밸런싱에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 기존의 수동적 밸런싱의 단점을 보완한 능동적 밸런싱을 사용하였고 제안한 회로의 기능 및 성능의 검증을 위해 배터리 관리 장치 보드를 설계 및 제작하여 시험한 결과 개선된 기능이 원활히 수행됨을 확인하였다.

Comparison of Reliability Estimation Methods for One-shot Systems Using Accelerated Life Tests (가속수명시험을 이용한 원샷 시스템의 신뢰도 추정방법 비교)

  • This paper shows accuracy comparison results of reliability estimation methods for one-shot systems with respect to sample sizes. To compare accuracy in reliability estimation methods, quantal-response data, characterizing one-shot systems, were simulated using failure times of LED obtained through the accelerated life test, and then the true reliability over time was evaluated using the failure times. The simulated quantal-response data were used to estimate the true reliability through applying reliability estimation methods in open literature. Accuracy of each reliability estimation method was compared in terms of both SSE (Sum of Squared Error) and MSE (Mean Squared Error), and then estimation trend for each method is found. Feasible bounds which true reliability would exist within were estimated through applying the found trends to quantal-response data set of a real weapon system.

  • In plastic working, as working becomes speedy, automatic and working condition deteriorates, the increase of forging working has been remarkable. Therefore, we need the estimation of mold lift in detail, in order to counterplan of effective mold life extension. In this study, on the SKH51, mold steel which is forged by cold working and the KCW1, tool steel of low alloy, we estimated mold life on the base of FEM analysis and investigated mold lift by low cycle fatigue test. Also, this paper suggested a new method of estimation of mold lift.
