  • 수동형 RFID는 제한된 자원으로, 무선채널을 사용하는 기술이다. 하지만 여러 보안 문제점이 있으며, 이를 해결하기 위한 각종 암호화 기법이나 알고리즘을 활용한 인증 프로토콜이 발표되었다. AES와 해시는 대표적인 암호화 알고리즘으로써 그 안정성이 검증되었지만, EPC Global에서 규정한 통신 횟수를 만족하기 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 인덱스 처리 기법과 난수 사용을 기반으로 하는 초경량 RFID 인증 프로토콜을 제안한다. 이 프로토콜은 산술 논리연산자를 사용하여 주요 보안 문제를 해결하였다. 그리고 RFID에 최저 통신횟수를 만족하도록 구현 가능한 프로토콜을 작성하였다.

  • In this paper, u-FOS system is applied to field test in order to design the code structure based on standards and both 900MHz passive and 2.45GHz active RFID devices were used to test identification capacity in the field tests. For the stable RFID data obtainments, optimum speed of trucks and rail cars and most suitable tagging locations on them were resulted from field tests. The data obtained from ground logistics base and identified through the system is sent to u-FOS. Because the code structure is designed in the form of KKR code structure, this system can be implemented on RFID ODS network without difficulty. Therefore, we suggested the result as a guideline for corporations and government agencies to easily adopt the system.

  • This paper presents the development of a stock control system of POP system design based on RFID in SCM and its economic efficiency. A stock control system is proposed for 900MHz passive type RFID system. The RFID system is composed of a RFID reader and four antennas to read the tag IDs. A cost estimation model is adapted based on the total product profit by various tag prices. The result of the economic efficiency analysis can indicate any invested model for the automation system which have initial investment should be used. This solution indicates the limit of the break even point according to the input. And it can be concluded that the stock control can be developed by RFID readers and passive tags with directional arrangement of several antennas. Also, the economical evaluation model can be a decision method for company to adapt the new developed system.

Impedance Evaluation Method of UHF RFID Tag Chip for Maximum Read Range (UHF RFID 태그의 최대 인식 거리를 얻기 위한 태그 칩의 임피던스 산출 방법)

  • In a passive UHF RFID system, the impedance matching between tag antenna and chip as well as the protocol parameter settings in a reader plays important role in determination of the maximum read-range. Almost no paper, however, has dealt with the above issues in relation with the maximum read range. In this paper, two known methods (of using the value from data sheets and proprietary RFID tester) and our proposing method in chip impedance evaluation are compared in terms of maximum read range. The read range of tags whose antenna impedance is conjugate matched with the chip impedance obtained from the proposed method is improved maximum 73 % more than that of tags from the other methods.

A Storage and Computation Efficient RFID Distance Bounding Protocol (저장 공간 및 연산 효율적인 RFID 경계 결정 프로토콜)

  • Recently many researchers have been proved that general RFID system for proximity authentication is vulnerable to various location-based relay attacks such as distance fraud, mafia fraud and terrorist fraud attacks. The distance-bounding protocol is used to prevent the relay attacks by measuring the round trip time of single challenge-response bit. In 2008, Munilla and Peinado proposed an improved distance-bounding protocol applying void-challenge technique based on Hancke-Kuhn's protocol. Compare with Hancke-Kuhn's protocol, Munilla and Peinado's protocol is more secure because the success probability of an adversary has (5/8)n. However, Munilla and Peinado's protocol is inefficient for low-cost passive RFID tags because it requires large storage space and many hash function computations. Thus, this paper proposes a new RFID distance-bounding protocol for low-cost passive RFID tags that can be reduced the storage space and hash function computations. As a result, the proposed distance-bounding protocol not only can provide both storage space efficiency and computational efficiency, but also can provide strong security against the relay attacks because the adversary's success probability can be reduced by $(5/8)^n$.

  • RFID 시스템에서 리더와 태그는 단일 무선 공유 채널을 갖기 때문에 RFID 수동형 태그를 위한 태그 충돌 중재가 태그 인식을 위한 중요한 이슈이다. 본 논문에서는 태그 충돌 방지를 위한 Improved Hybrid Query Tree algorithm 을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 쿼리 트리를 기반으로 태그가 리더에게 ID 를 전송하는 시점을 전송 ID 상위 3 비트 내의 '1' 값을 이용하여 결정한다. 또한 전송받은 Tag 의 상위 3 비트는 충돌이 발생하더라도 전송 슬롯에 따라 다르므로 제안한 알고리즘에서 예측이 가능하다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 성능 평가에서 다른 트리 기반 프로토콜에 비해 제안한 알고리즘이 쿼리 횟수에서 높은 성능을 갖는다는 것을 보여준다.

  • RFID technology is considered as a promising solution to increase efficiency of port logistics. Especially active RFID technology, such as e-Seal for container security, is receiving attention nowadays. If active RFID system is combined with passive RFID and legacy bar-code system overall efficiency of port logistics can be improved However, due to the device dependent control interface of RFID readers, there are many difficulties in making active-passive combined RFID system environment. In this paper, we introduce Smart Reader Interface (SRI) system, which provides a device independent RFID reader interrace to control different kinds of RFID readers by hiding device dependent control interface through adapter architecture which is similar to device driver of conventional operating systems. The key design objectives of SRI are the followings; conformance to the related standard. efficiency in processing, easy addition of an adapter for a new RFID reader. Actually, the implemented SRI system can support various kinds of commercial RFID readers, and through the test carried out not only in laboratory but also in the container terminal in the GwangYang Port, its practicality is verified.
