  • 부하변동이 크고 전ㆍ후진 작업이 많아 잦은 변속이 요구되는 트랙터 작업의 특성에 의해 작업성과 효율, 양 측면에서 다루어진 변속 방식이 파워시프트를 이용한 변속방식이다. 세계적으로 60년대 이후부터 보급되기 시작하여 수동 변속기 다음으로 보편화되어있는 이 변속 방식은 특히 대형 트랙터에 기본으로 장착되어야 하는 것으로 여겨지고 있기 때문에, 해외수출을 위해서는 반드시 장착되어야 하는 것으로 받아들여지고 있다. 그러나 우리나라에서는 최근에야 트랙터용 파워시프트의 국산화를 위한 개발과정에서 연구가 이루어지고 있는 실정이고, 개발 중에 직면하는 다양한 문제는, 파워시프트 변속기에 대한 이해와 해석 기술의 부족에 기인한 것으로 생각된다. 그러므로, 파워시프트 변속기에 대한 시스템 해석 기술을 개발, 제공하는 것이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.   • 자동 변속기 차량은 여러 가지의 장점을 지니고 있으며, 쉬프트 맵의 특징이 수동 변속기 차량과는 달리 이미 규정된 패턴을 따른다 하지만 킥 다운, 킥 업, 리프트 풋 업 등의 현상이 어느 운전자에게나, 어떤 주행 상황에서나 일괄 적용되고 있기에 불만스러움을 느끼는 운전자가 있을 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 지능형 자동 변속 시스템의 변속 결과에 따른 운전자의 불만 정도를 고려하고 다음 변속에 반영하도록 고안한 만족도 보정 기법을 제안하고자 한다 만족도 평가는 변속이후 운전자의 조작을 관찰하며, 불만족 정도에 따라 최종 쉬프트 선도의 조정을 결정하도록 고안하였으며, 변속 시스템의 변속 결정과 운전자의 스로틀 및 브레이크 조작을 입력으로 한 신경 회로망을 구성하여 학습하였다

  • The load sharing and teeth deflection of helical gear system are analyzed to investigate the deformation overlap. The deformation overlap, which is calculated by the results of displacement analysis, is suggested as the basis for the tooth profile modification. Helical gear systems are formulated as contact problems, and solved by elastic contact theory and FEM. The developed computer program, which offers gear teeth deflection and deformation overlap, will be of much help to the improved design of manual transmissions for automobiles.

  • In this study, numerical analysis was conducted to understand the flow characteristics of lubrication system in a manual transmission installed in a commercial vehicle. Also, the analysis was conducted with the purpose of improving the heat and lubricative condition of the transmission. Discharging flow rates on each oil hole outlet according to various engine rotating speed and the length of oil hole branch was calculated. In conclusion, as engine rotating speed is high and the length of oil hole branch is long, the discharging flow rate is high by virtue of the centrifugal force. In addition, this study proposed data for optimal design of lubrication system in manual transmission for a commercial vehicle.

  • Military Vehicles of the Korean army had been developed before 2004 and used manual transmissions. Manual transmissions contain a clutch system regulating the force from engine to transmission. In this study, a 2.5-ton military vehicle's clutch system was investigated. The existing clutch system had the characteristics that need to adjust the clearance between the clutch cover and release bearing. Improper clearance led to early wear of the clutch disk and failure of the clutch cover. To solve these problems, an improved clutch system was suggested and tested. The improved clutch system contains auto adjustment of the clearance and an enhanced clutch disk. To verify the improved clutch systems, 2 stage tests were conducted: an accelerated life test of the clutch system, and a driving test by trainee of driving more than 3,000km. As a result, the problems caused by the improper clearance adjustment were solved and this design was verified.

Study on the Dynamic Characteristics of a Manual Transmission Using Linear Models (선형모델을 이용한 수동변속기의 동적 특성 연구)

  • Torsional vibrations, such as the gear rattle of the manual transmission in vehicle systems, are correlated with the firing stroke from the engine. These vibro-impacts can be examined based upon linear time-invariant analysis. In order to understand the gear dynamics, a specific manual transmission with a front-engine front-wheel drive configuration is investigated. A method to reduce the degrees of freedom is suggested based upon the eigensolutions and frequency response functions, which will lead to the development of an efficient matrix size. The dynamic characteristics of single- and dual-mass flywheels are then compared. The effect of the dual-mass flywheel is investigated based upon the mobility analysis, which will lead to understanding of the concepts for avoiding vibro-impacts. A linear time-invariant system model is examined by employing the effective clutch stiffness from a two-stage clutch damper. Thus, the relationship between the dynamic characteristics and the clutch damper can be predicted by assuming a combination of different stage stiffness levels.

  • Recently, most vehicles has the Automatic transmission system as their transmission system. The automatic transmission system operates with fixed shift patterns. In the opposite of manual operation, it is easy and convenient for driving. Though these merit, the system can not evaluate the driver s intension because of usage of fixed shift pattern. To consider driver s intension, we must consider both the driving intensity of driver and the status of vehicle. In this paper, we developed flexible automatic transmission system by using the proposed moduled neural networks which can learn the status of th vehicle and driver s intensity. As a results, we compare the transmission system using fixed shift pattern and the proposed transmission system and show the good performance in the change of shift position.

  • This paper describes a control algorithm and test results of an automated manual transmission clutch actuated by a stepping motor. The control algorithm extracts driver's demand from CAN signals and decides the exact timing to engage or disengage the clutch based on the demand. A pulse signal is generated to drive the clutch and the travel of the clutch can be calculated by accumulating the pulse signal. An auto code generation method was introduced in implementing the control logic to the micro-processor of the prototype controller and a series of basic tests were carried out to validate its performance.

  • 자동 변속기 차량은 여러 가지의 장점을 지니고 있으며, 쉬프트 맵의 특징이 수동 변속기차량과는 달리 이미 규정된 패턴을 따른다. 하지만 킥 다운, 킥 업, 리프트 풋 업 등의 현상이 어느 운전자에게나, 어떤 추행 상황에서나 일괄 적용되고 있기에 불만스러움을 느끼는 운전자가 있을 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이런 일반적으로 정해진 쉬프트 맵을 운전자의 조작 정도와 차량의 상태를 종합적으로 고려하여 쉬프트 맵을 수정, 적용할 수 있도록 지능형 변속 시스템을 구현하였다. 변속 시스템의 학습 과정에서는 뛰어난 학습 능력을 지니고 있기 때문에 판단 및 추론이 요구되는 지능형 시스템의 학습 도구로 다양하게 적용되고 있는 소프트 컴퓨팅(Soft Computing) 기법을 이용하였으며, 각 학습 내용에 따라 필요 입력을 별도로 구성한 모듈 형태의 망구조를 지니고 있다. .
