Design and Verification of PCS Transmitting and Receiving Module for 40/100 Gigabit-Ethernet (40G/100G 이더넷을 위한 PCS 송수신부 설계 및 기능 검증)

  • In this paper, we design the PCS(Physical Coding Sublayer) transmitting and receiving module for 400/1000 Ethernet and verify the performance of it through logic simulation. In this work, we defined each function module and internal/external control signals and implemented them using HDL programming language. We also designed 64B/66B encoding/decoding, scrambling/descrambling including operation mode, detection of invalid frames, and multi-lane based distribution/arrangement. It was simulated using ModelSim and verified in terms of the operation and timing according to input data. The simulation result shows that all designed modules in 400/100G Ethernet are correctly performed.

Implementation of a Relay Module for Coverage Extension in Visible Light Communication (가시광 통신의 커버리지 확장을 위한 릴레이 모듈 구현)

  • Visible light communication is a communication method using light, and it has advantage of ensuring security in a single space as compared with RF communication. However, in the area outside the visible line of the light, communication disconnection occurs. Therefore, this paper proposes a relay module to overcome the coverage extension and communication disconnection phenomenon of visible light communication. The proposed relay module transmits and receives data of visible light communication by sequentially transmitting data packets including target ID through adjacent visible light module. Through experimentation of data transmission, we confirmed the extension of the transmission range and the data reception in the area outside the line of sight.

  • In this paper, we introduce a newly developed DSP module and Software which Is applicable to DTV-OCR and is designed to cancel the interference signal. In general, RF repeater has problems of system oscillation and signal Quality degradation due to feedback interference signal coming from transmit antenna. In this paper, we demonstrate newly developed DSP HW and SW module for cancelling the interference signal by investigating the field data measured through a RF repeater. Also, the structure and signal processing method for non-regenerative repeater system based on the newly developed DSP HW and SW module is illustrated as well.

A Study on Development of Conversion Software for Controller Without OPC Stack to Communicate With OPC DA Client (OPC 스택이 없는 제어기와 OPC DA 클라이언트를 통신시키는 변환 소프트웨어 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes method about development of conversion software for controller without OPC stack to communicate with OPC DA client. The proposed method is composed of development of OPC server based on OPC DA standard protocol, development of GUI application can be checked the OPC tag and point informations, development of conversion module to convert from OPC protocol to open standard protocol. In the stage of development of OPC server based on OPC DA standard protocol, we develope server in the pc to transmit and receive datum through OPC DA protocol with OPC DA client. In the stage of evelopment of GUI application can be checked the OPC tag and point informations, run the OPC DA server and register to window system registry and check OPC tags, points, transmitting and receiving of data from serial communication. In the stage of development of conversion module to convert from OPC protocol to open standard protocol, convert from OPC tag data which has received from OPC DA client to protocol can be communicated with industrial controller using open standard protocol so that support to transmit and receive data. To evaluate the efficiency of the proposed software, we connected OPC DA server software and OPC client, and 5 sample industrial controller which use open standard protocol, as a result we got 96.98% average communication succeeding rate among entire transmitting and receiving packets. We also confirmed that successfully communicated between industrial building controller which uses modbus protocol and industrial OPC DA client using OPC DA conversion software proposed by this dissertation.

Design of a Rectangular Waveguide Antenna for Automotive Side and Rear Radar Sensor Applications (차량 측후방 레이더 센서용 직사각형 도파관 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a waveguide antenna is designed and fabricated for side and rear radar sensor of vehicles in UWB (Ultra Wide Band) high band (center frequency : 9.5 GHz, -10 dB bandwidth : 600 MHz (6.4 %)). For the radar antenna, a probe fed rectangular waveguide antenna having simple structure and wide bandwidth is used. An important performance factor in this antenna is the isolation between transmitting (TX) and receiving (RX) waveguide antennas because this radar system uses TX and RX antennas separately. Thus the isolation between two antennas was simulated for E-plane and H-plane array. As a result, it was verified that the isolation of the H-plane array of the antennas is better than E-plane array, due to the TE10 mode. Therefore, H-plane arrayed waveguide antennas were mounted on a T-shaped radar module and performance of antennas was investigated. The -10 dB bandwidth of the TX and RX antenna mounted on T-shaped radar module was measured as 1000 MHz (10.52 %) and 1090 MHz (11.47 %) respectively and the isolation is less than -50 dB in the operation band. The peak gain is 7.65 dBi for the TX antenna and 7.26 dBi for the RX antenna and the beamwidth of H-plane of TX and RX antenna was measured as $64^{\circ}$ and $65^{\circ}$ respectively. Consequently, we verified that the proposed waveguide antenna is appropriate for a vehicle radar applications.

Millimeter-wave LTCC Front-end Module for Highly Integrated Transceiver (고집적 송수신기를 위한 밀리미터파 LTCC Front-end 모듈)

  • In this paper, design and implementation of a very compact and cost effective front-end module are presented for IEEE 802.16 FWA(fixed Wireless Access) in the 40 GHz band. A multi-layer LTCC(Low Temperature Co-fred Ceramic) technology with cavity process to achieve excellent electrical performances is used to fabricate the front-end module. The wirebond matching circuit design of switch input/output port and waveguide transition to connect antenna are optimally designed to keep transmission loss low. To reduce the size of the front-end module, the dielectric waveguide filter is developed instead of the metal waveguide filter. The LTCC is composed of 6 layers(with the thickness of a layer of 100 um) having a relative dielectric constant of 7.1. The front-end module is implemented in a volume of $30{\times}7{\times}0.8mm^3$ and shows an overall insertion loss < 5.3 dB, and image rejection value > 49 dB.

Stacked Pad Area Away Package Modules for a Radio Frequency Transceiver Circuit (RF 송수신 회로의 적층형 PAA 패키지 모듈)

  • This paper presents a three dimensional stacked pad area away (PAA) package configuration as an implementation method of radio frequency (RF) circuits. 224MHz RF circuits of intelligence traffic system(ITS) were constructed with the stacked PAA RF pakage configuration. In the process of manufacturing the stacked PAA RF pakage, RF circuits were partitioned to subareas following their function and operating frequency. Each area of circuits separated to each subunits. The operating characteristics of RF PAA package module and the electrical properties of each subunits were examined. The measurement of electrical parameters for solder balls which were interconnects for stacked PAA RF packages showed that the parasitic capacitance and inductance were 30fF and 120pH, respectively, which might be negligible in PAA RF packaging system. HP 4396B network/spectrum analyzer revealed that the amplification gain of a receiver and transmitter at 224 MHz was 22dB and 27dB, respectively. The gain was 3dB lower than designed values. The difference was probably generated from fabrication process of the circuits by employing commercial standard

  • Packaging takes an extremely important element of optical module cost due primarily to the added complication of alignment between semiconductor devices and optical fiber, and many efforts have been devoted on reducing the cost by eliminating the complicated optical alignment procedures in passive manner. In this study, we fabricated silicon optical benches on which the optical alignments are accomplished passively. To improve the positioning accuracy of a flip-chip bonded LD, we adopted fiducial marks and solder dams which are self-aligned with V-groove etch patterns, and a stand-off to control the height and to improve the heat dissipation of LD. Optical sub-assemblies exhibited an average efficiency of -11.75$\pm$1.75 dB(1$\sigma$) from the LD-to-single mode fiber coupling and an average sensitivity of -35.0$\pm$1.5 dBm from the fiber and photodetector coupling.

  • 본 논문은 ATM교환기에서 Non-ATM정합을 위한 미디어게이트웨이의 개발방안과 하드웨어, 소프트웨어 구조에 대해서 기술한다. 미디어게이트웨어의 하드웨어 구조는 ATM계층처리보드와 다중화처리보드 및 서비스보드들로 구분되며 Non-ATM을 서비스별로 처리할 수 있는 보드를 모듈당 최대 8매까지 실장 할 수 있다. 다중화처리보드는 ATM셀 MUX/DEMUX기능과 IPC송수신기능을 처리하고 서비스보드의 링크상태관리, 운용기능을 수행한다. 서비스보드의 종류는 프레임릴레이, 회선대행, AAL2 트렁킹, N-ISDN중계선 연동기능을 각각 수행한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 리눅스 클러스터에서 커널 수준의 응용 프로그램 개발을 위한 통신 모듈인 KCCM(Kernel level Cluster Communication Module)에 대한 구조를 기술한다. KCCM은 비동기 통신을 지원하기 위한 응용 프로그램 인터페이스와 송수신(Send/ Receive)형태의 동기 통신을 지원하기 위한 응용 프로그램 인터페이스를 함께 제공하며, 다른 플랫폼으로의 포팅을 고려하여 소켓 인터페이스를 이용해 구현되었다. 또한 장애 상황에서도 서비스를 계속하고 장애를 복구할 수 있도록 설계되어 커널 수준의 고 가용성 클러스터 응용 프로그램을 개발하는데 유용하다.
