A Design of digital PWM controller for automotive brake solenoid valve (자동차 제동 솔레노이드 밸브용 디지털 PWM 컨트롤러 설계)

  • This paper describes a design of digital PWM controller for automotive brake solenoid valve which is used in ABS/ESC SoC. The PWM controller which consists of 12 channels supports both direct control and PI control. Six channels in direct control mode make consistent PWM signals according to duty ratio setting, and the others in PI control mode make PWM signals with constant current depending on current setting. The PWM controller also has functions including solenoid valve open detection, Dither and PWM phase shift. The PWM controller having 44,779 gates is fabricated using a 0.18um CMOS process, and test results show that all the functions are correct.

  • A pneumatic driving solenoid valve operates pneumatic control devices by opening/closing operating flow passage when the command is given by control system for the liquid-propellant feeding system of space launch vehicle. The simulation model of pneumatic driving solenoid valve is designed with AMESim to verify the designs and evaluate the dynamic characteristics and pneumatic behaviors of valve. To validate a valve simulation model, the simulation results of their operating durations of valve by AMESim analysis are compared with the results of experiments. In addition, the results of internal flow simulation with FLUENT are utilized to improve the accuracy of valve-modeling. Using the model, we analyze performance of valve; opening/closing pressure, operating time on various design factors; shape of control valve seat, drainage seat, rate of sealing diameter, volume of control cavity. This study will serve as one of reference guides to enhance the developmental efficiency of ventilation-relief valves with the various operating conditions, which shall be used in Korea Space Launch Vehicle-II.

  • The solenoid valve used in fuel cell system need to have good sealing performance because the work fluid can explode in the system. Moreover, the temperature of the work fluid is extremely high in order to maintain the properties of the rubber ring that seals the solenoid valve. This study deals with the rubber ring which is made from a fluoro-elastomer. The life cycle of the rubber ring was estimated by the relational expression of Arrhenius, and the solenoid valve was tested to confirm the sealing characteristics.

  • The magnetic field standard below 1 mT with the resolution of 0.26 nT has been established. Earth magnetic field (EMF) is compensated automatically down to 0.1 nT/10 min. by a closed feedback system with Cs optical pumping magnetometer and 3-axis Helmholtz coils in nonmagnetic facilities. A multi-layer precision solenoid with the optimized single-current method generates the uniform magnetic field better than 1.0$\times$10$\^$-7/ within $\pm$ 1 cm region at its center. The coil constant of solenoid determined from Helium optical pumping magnetometer is 1.231 058 9 mT/A, and temperature coefficient is 0.38 nT/$\^{C}$. This standard system is used for calibration of low field magnetometers and testing relates to low field.

  • 개폐형(On/Off) 솔레노이드 액츄에이터의 설계에서는 온도상승을 고려한 권선수 산출이 가장 중요하고, 제작과정에서는 설계단계에서 산출된 권선수를 정확하게 정렬권선 형태로 구현해 내는 것이 가장 중요하다. 본 연구에서는, 비 정렬권선이 개폐식 솔레노이드 액츄에이터의 동작에 미치는 영향을 실험적으로 분석하였다. 실험은 하나의 정렬권선 코일과 비 정렬 상태가 다른 세권선을 사용하여 보빈과 연결된 요크가 있는 경우와 없는 경우를 각각 실험하고 그 때의 흡인력 온도상승 소비전력 등의 특성을 비교하였다. 특히, 온도상승 실험은 실제 사용시의 상황을 구현하기 위하여 권선상태가 다른 4종류의 코일 각각에 100만회의 내구성 시험을 실시하면서 작동횟수를 등분하여 코일, 요크, 몰딩부의 각 측정점 온도를 측정하였다.

  • 직구동방식 고속 솔레노이드 액추에이터는 자동차, 항공산업 등의 고정밀을 요구하는 산업시스템에 주요부품으로 사용되기 때문에 고신뢰성이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 직구동방식 고속 솔레노이드 액추에이터의 신뢰성 평가를 위하여 2단계 품질기능전개를 통해 신뢰성시험항목을 결정하였다. 신뢰성평가 시험 중에서 가장 큰 우선도를 차지하는 수명시험에 대해 문헌, 연구계 및 현장실무자를 통한 무고장 수명시험 시간을 산출하였다. 또한 장기간 소요되는 무고장 수명시험 시간의 시간을 단축하기 위해 가속모델을 제안하고 실제 조건을 충족하는 가속수명 시험시간을 산출하였다.

  • Some analytic results for a solenoid eddy current coil to test nondestructive conducting materials are described in this paper. Normalized impedance of solenoid coil encircling cylindrical conducting tubes or tow-conductor rods is analyzed. Electrical and magnetic properties such as conductivity, permeability and exciting frequency as well as the geometric ones of fill factor or radius ratio of the conductor are also considered. Impedance characteristics of the models obtained by numerical analysis are examined. Validation of the model is carried out using several samples of non-ferromagnetic conducting tubes and 2-conductor rods.

  • In this paper, to evaluate the performance of solenoidal typed injector, research and development had been performed on injector controller in order to respond to various performance tests, which is not only economical but easy extensible on its channels. The developed controller based on embedded system is able to precisely control the injection timing and quantity by high-pressured from the injector. Also, it is able to performance evaluation by measuring the electrical characteristics of solenoid. Additionally, it is enable precision timing control of light source and high speed camera as it is able to precisely photograph the timely spray pattern of injector.

  • 약한 자기장 (~20 G)이 인가된 유도 결합 플라즈마 장치는 고효율, 높은 균일도의 플라즈마를 생성할 수 있다. 그러므로 이 장치에 대한 변수 제어뿐만 아니라, 전자 싸이클로트론 공명(Electron cyclotron resonance) 현상에 의한 방전 특성에 대한 연구는 매우 중요하다. 그에 연관된 여러 연구가 있었지만, 대부분의 연구는 평판형 유도 결합 플라즈마에서 진행되었다. 그에 따라서, 본 연구는 솔레노이드 형태의 유도 결합 플라즈마 장치에서 플라즈마 변수에 대한 약한 자기장의 영향을 살펴보았다. 실험에 사용된 인가주파수는 13.56 MHz에서 27.12 MHz였으며, 다양한 압력과 전력에서 실험이 진행되었다. 이러한 솔레노이드 형태의 유도 결합 플라즈마에서의 플라즈마 변수는 국부적인 특성을 보였으며, 평판형 유도 결합 플라즈마와 비교/분석을 진행하였다.

Experiment and Performance Prediction on Inherent Flow Coefficient of a Solenoid Valve (솔레노이드 밸브의 고유유량계수에 대한 실험과 성능예측)

  • The Equations of inherent flow coefficient are different from compressible to incompressible flow. The paper has been conducted to measure the inherent flow coefficient of solenoid valve under various flows. Experimental results for compressible and incompressible flow were confirmed to inherent flow coefficient correctly. The value of inherent flow coefficient for the 0.5" solenoid valve is about 2. Dynamic characteristics of a solenoid valve, which plays an important role in real model, have been analysed by AMESim simulator modeling.
