액체 금속로의 가상 사고 해석

  • 본 연구에서 액체금속로의 노심용융(core meltdown)으로 인한 초 즉발 임계(super-prompt critical)의 출력 폭주 사고시, 노심의 반응도 및 열수력 특성 변화와 에너지 방출량등을 계산하기 위하여, Bethe-Tait 방버론을 수정, 보완한 분석 모델이 개발되었다. 주요 보완 내용으로서는, 금속 연료 노심의 단상 액체 영역에서의 선형의(Linear) threshold 형태의 상태 방정식뿐만 아니라 포화 증기(saturated fuel vapor) 영역에서의 상태 방정식이 개발되었고, 이에 따른 노심 붕괴 반응도(disassembly reactivity)의 분석 모델이 개발되었다. 또한 도플러 반응도 효과를 고려하기 위한 분석모델도 아울러 개발되었다. 상기 보완 모델을 실행할 수 있는 수치 해석 프로그램이 개발되었고, 이를 활용하여 KALIMER에서 HCDA가 발생하였을 경우 노심에서의 에너지 방출량 계산이 수행되었다. 분석결과 도플러 효과와 포화 증기 영역에서의 압력 증가 및 노심팽창의 중요성이 확인되었다. 도플러 효과가 고려되지 않을 경우 HCDA는 분석된 모든 반응도 삽입률에 대하여 폭발적인 에너지 방출과 함께 사고가 종결되는 것으로 평가되었다. 그러나 도플러 상수가 최적 평가치인 -0.002인 경우 50$/s이하의 반응도 삽입률에서는 노심은 비등점(0.8KJ/g)에 도달치 않았으며, 설계 기준 사고인 100$/s의 경우에도 노심은 포화 증기 영역에 머물고 압력이 급격히 증가하는 단상(single phase)액체 영역의 threshold 값에 미치지 않기 때문에 사고는 핵연료 증기(vapor)의 점진적인 분산과 함께 종결되는 것으로 분석되며, 총 에너지 발생량은 약 1,800MJ로서 기계적 손상 에너지로 전환되는 분율을 고려할 때 KALIMER 원자로 용기의 구조 설계 기준치에 비해 상당한 여유도를 갖는 것으로 평가되었다.

  • Sunken ships cause damage to the environment due to the dispersal of fuel oil and harmful cargo goods in the hull. Since the sunken ship is mostly flooded by the seabed, it tends to be in a relatively stable condition. However, the heavy body, together with the load of remaining goods in the cargo hold, the constant contact with the seabed, and ocean currents and tidal waves, can affect dispersal of residual fuel oils out of the sunken ship. Corrosion of the sunken ship starts upon sinking, decreasing the thickness of the hull structure and sub-materials. Therefore, it is necessary to assess the structural stability against the potential breakdown of the sunken ship. Whilst evaluating the danger of the sunken ship, this result should be reflected in 'the possible discharge'. This study was undertaken to suggest a procedure for a step by step evaluation to assess the structural stability a sunken ship. The structural stability assessment to estimate the collapsibility of the hull was structure targeted at the sunken ship 'No. 7 HaeSung', which was classified as the prime example for the intensive management of sunken ships. The collapsibility of the hull structure was estimated Based on the damage size of the hull structure, and the corrosion rate of the hull structure and sub-materials due to the seawater after sinking. It was confirmed that there was a low possibility of the total destruction of the hull structure at the current time. However, there is a high possibility in the potential failure of the hull structure due to increased rate of corrosion thereafter. Therefore, we believe continuous study on influence of corrosion and marine environment change to sunken ship's structural safety is necessary.

A Study on the Purpose-in-Life Level in Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury (외상성 뇌 손상 환자의 삶의 목적 수준에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives : As traumatic brain injury(TBI) leaves chronic sequelae in mind and body, the injured patients should rectify the meaning and object that they have pursued in their lives and set up a new purpose in life that they may make the rest of their lives meaningful. This study was designed to investigate the purpose and quality of life levels and the influence of demographic and clinical variables on the levels in the patients with TBI, and to be of some help to their rehabilitation. Methods : In order to assess the purpose in life(PIL) and the quality of life(QOL) levels, Purpose-in-Life Test, Sickness Impact Profile, Quality of Life Index, Head Injury Symptom Ckecklist, and Neurobehavioral Rating Scale were administered to the subjects. The subjects were thirty-two patients with TBI and the same numbered normal controls. The TBI group was composed of 16 to 65 year-aged patients who had received mild or severe TBI at least 12 months before, and the controls were siblings or friends of the patients whose age, sex, and educational level were similar to them. Results : 1) The PIL and QOL levels of the patients with TBI remained significantly lower than that of control group after their symptoms of injury were stabilized(p<.01, p<.01). 2) The mean PIL score of TBI group was $58.8{\pm}23.2$, which was to be regarded as the level of existential vacuum. 3) The PIL level of TBI group was significantly correlated with the QOL level(p <.01). 4) The subgroup with lower PIL level in patients with TBI has significantly higher rate of female than that with higher PIL(p<.05), the PIL level of female patients was significantly lower than that of male patients(p <.05). 5) The significant differences in PIL levels were not found, in which comparison was performed between each pair of subgroups of patients with TBI divided by severity of injury(mild vs severe), marital status(married vs unmarried), and occupational status prior to injury(employed vs unemployed). Conclusion : The PIL of patients with TBI still remained the level of existential vacuum after symptoms of sequelae had been stabilized, The QOL level was also extremely low, and as the PIL level was low the QOL was also low. The demographic and clinical variables except sex did not have influence on the PIL level in brain-injured patients. It is suggested that every patient should admit their mental and physical limitations caused by brain injury and revise their purpose in life for successful rehabilitation.

  • This study investigates the response of structures to tunnelling-induced ground movements in clay ground, varying tunnel excavation condition (tunnel depth and diameter), tunnel construction condition (ground loss), and tunnel ground condition (soft clay and stiff clay). Four-story block-bearing structures have been used because the structures can easily be characterized of the extent of damages with crack size and distribution. Numerical parametric studies have been used to investigate of the response of structures to varying tunnelling conditions. Numerical analysis has been conducted using Discrete Element Method (DEM) to have real cracks when the shear and tensile stress exceed the maximum shear and tensile strength. The results of structure responses from various parametric studies have been integrated to consider tunnel excavation condition, tunnel construction condition, and tunnel ground condition and provide a relationship chart among them. Using the chart, the response of structures to tunnelling can easily be evaluated in practice in clay ground.

  • Recently, the deteriorations of RC bridge decks on express-way are frequently observed. The major cause of deterioration for the RC concrete bridge decks exposed to de-icing chemiclas would be chloride-induced reinforcement corrosion. Therefore, Waterproofing is necessary for improvement of bridge deck durability and comfortable utility. In this study is to investigate the appearance of deterioration and properties of concrete core from the collect in a bridge deck. The results of this study shows that penetration waterproofing agents shows low infiltration depth and low water-repellent. It appears that the damaging of concrete deck is primarily waterproofing system rather than physical property.

  • Endurance of ship hull can be estimated by existing regulations and fatigue estimation methods. These can be applied to the hull materials that are recommended by ship regulations but can't be applied to new materials. In this study, structural force in the worst sailing condition is obtained by the acceleration measurement test of small polyethylene boat and the endurance of small polyethylene hull is estimated by rainflow cycle counting method and linear cumulative damage rule. Maximum Von-Mises stress on the polyethylene boat is 1.8MPa and much lower than the fatigue strength of at least 5.9MPa for the fatigue life of $1{\times}10^9$ cycles. Fatigue life of the polyethylene boat hull is estimated to be 6,229 years.

  • In this study, a seismic fragility analysis was performed for substation systems in Korea. To evaluate the seismic fragility function of the substation systems, a fragility analysis of the individual equipment and facilities of the substation systems was first performed, and then all systems were considered in the fragility analysis of the substation systems using a fault-tree method. For this research, the status of the substation systems in Korea was investigated for the classification of the substation systems. Following the classification of the substation systems, target equipment was selected based on previous damage records in earthquake hazards. The substation systems were classified as 765kV, 345kV, and 154kV systems. Transformer and bushing were chosen as target equipment. The failure modes and criteria for transformer and bushing were decided, and fragility analysis performed. Finally, the fragility functions of substation system were evaluated using the fault tree method according to damage status.

피로균열진전거동 평가를 위한 균열길이 측정법 - 직류전위차법

  • 철강구조물 부재 내에 노치나 균열이 존재할 수 있고, 외부의 피로하중에 의하여 취약부에서 발생한 균열이 진전하여 전구조물의 최종파손을 야기시킬 수 있다. 부재를 보다 안전하게 사용하고 또한 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해서는 이미 손상된 부재에서 균열의 진전상태를 계측할 수 있는 방법이 확립되어져야 하고, 파괴역학적 파라미터를 이용한 사용재의 균열진전거동특성이 평가되어야 한다. 균열길이의 측정방법은 지금까지 많은 연구자들에 의하여 개발되어져 왔는데 크게 광학현미경을 이용하여 육안으로 직접 균열길이를 측정하는 방법과 컴플라이언스, 초음파, AE 또는 전기적 신호를 통하여 얻어진 결괄부터 균열길이로 환산하는 간접적인 방법으로 대별된다. 대부분의 균열길이의 측정방법은 많은 수작업이 요구되고, 특히 하한계응력확대계수영역의 미세한 균열진전량을 측정하기에는 어려움이 따르고 있다. 이에 대하여 전도체 시험편에 일정전류를 흐르게 하고 균열길이의 증가에 따라 변화하는 전위차로 이를 균열길이로 평가하는 전기적인 측정방법이 있다. 이 방법은 실험장치가 비교적 간단하고 미세한 균열길이의 측정이 용이하여 균열길이의 직접적인 측정이 곤란한 고온역 그리고 충격하중하에서의 균열길이 측정에 이용이 확대되고 있다. 이 글에서는 여러 균열길이 측정방법의 장.단점에 대하여 고찰하고, 그 중 많은 장점을 갖고 있는 직류전위차법의 실험방법을 소개한다.

  • 전자기적으로 지지되는 임펠러를 가진 원심 혈액 펌프는 기존의 심장 펌프에 비해 많은 장점을 가지고 있지만, BVAD의 틈새에서 발생하는 유체 동역학적인 문제는 여전히 규명이 되지 않은 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 BVAD의 틈새에서 발생하는 혈액외상(blood trauma)의 예측에 대한 연구에 중점을 두고 있다. 일반적으로 원심 혈액 펌프의 설계를 위해 전자기적으로 지지되는 원심 혈액 펌프의 디스크 틈새에서 발생하는 혈액의 손상을 평가하는 방법으로 CFD를 이용한 방법이 널리 이용되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 초기 원심 혈액 펌프의 설계 단계에서 펌프의 특성을 평가하기 위하여, 축 방향 틈새의 영향과 회전수 변화에 따른 누수경로의 전단 응력의 크기 평가를 CFD를 사용하여 해석하여 보았다.
