A Cache-based Reconfigurable Accelerator in Die-stacked DRAM (3차원 구조 DRAM의 캐시 기반 재구성형 가속기)

  • The demand on low power and high performance system is soaring due to the extending of mobile and small electronic device market. The 3D die-stacking technology is widely studying for next generation integration technology due to its high density and low access time. We proposed the 3D die-stacked DRAM including a reconfigurable accelerator in a logic layer of DRAM. Also we discuss and suggest a cache-based local memory for a reconfigurable accelerator in a logic layer. The reconfigurable accelerator in logic layer of 3D die-stacked DRAM reduces the overhead of data management and transfer due to the characteristics of its location, so that can increase the performance highly. The proposed system archives 24.8 speedup in maximum.

  • In almost industries, such as the logistics industry, marine fisheries, agriculture, industry, and services, small unmanned aerial vehicles are used for aerial photographing or closing flight in areas where human access is difficult or CCTV is not installed. Also, based on the information of small unmanned aerial photographing, application research is actively carried out to efficiently perform surveillance, control, or management. In order to carry out tasks in a mission-based manner in which the set tasks are assigned and the tasks are automatically performed, the small unmanned aerial vehicles must not only fly steadily but also be able to charge the energy periodically, In addition, the unmanned aircraft need to land automatically and precisely at certain points after the end of the mission. In order to accomplish this, an automatic precision landing method that leads landing by continuously detecting and recognizing a marker located at a landing point from a video shot of a small UAV is required. In this paper, it is shown that accurate and stable automatic landing is possible even if simple template matching technique is applied without using various recognition methods that require high specification in using low cost general purpose small unmanned aerial vehicle. Through simulation and actual experiments, the results show that the proposed method will be made good use of industrial fields.

Evaluation of Applicability of Apparent Track Stiffness Measured by Light-Weight Deflectometer as a Ballasted Track Condition Index (소형동평판재하시험기로 측정한 궤도 겉보기 강성의 자갈궤도 상태평가 지표로서의 적용성 고찰)

  • Ballasted track has been widely used due to its flexibility. However, the plastic deformation of ballasted track causes the evolution of track geometrical errors, and hence it requires continuous maintenance; increase in number of trains, weight, and speed expedites maintenance frequency and cost as well. Ballast stiffness is well-known as an indicator of design and maintenance. In this regard, this paper aims to suggest the method to measure ballast track stiffness using light-weight deflectometer (LWD) and thus verify its applicability as a maintenance measure. Preliminary field tests determined simple field testing protocol to measure track stiffness. The apparent ballast stiffness by LWD shows good corelation with TQI (Track Quality Index) and maintenance length. That is, as average of apparent stiffness increase, TQI and tamping length decrease exponentially. Therefore, apparent stiffness can be used as an index for ballast condition assessment.

Control of Small PEM Fuel Cell Stack by a Microprocessor (마이크로프로세서를 이용한 소형 PEM 연료전지 스택의 제어)

  • In this paper, control of small PEM(Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cell stack by a microprocessor is introduced. The water management of fuel cell stack inside, a key technique in fuel cell control, can be achieved by adjusting the required air flow for fuel and cooling, and by purging the excessive water from the stack. It is very important to precisely control the BOS(Balance of Stack) since the stable operation of the fuel cell system mainly depends on it. In this study the fuel efficiency of the system is improved by the control of the system based on the measured air flow and purge cycle during the optimal operation and its effectiveness is proved by the experiments. The operating stability of the system is improved by the developed controller using a microprocessor and it is expected to be widely used for the control of small PEM fuel cell stack.

  • The abilities of system engineering and project management (PM) are essential in the development of large instrumentations in modern astronomy. We propose a novel undergraduate educational program that allows students to gain experience in system engineering and PM by making a practical small spectrograph along with its test observation. A pilot program titled "Creative Astronomical Instrument Development and Observation" was conducted in Chungnam National University, as a part of the Space Expert Training Program of Ministry of Science and ICT during the Fall semester of 2023. After five teams were organized from 24 participating students, each team manufactured a spectrograph and observed spectra of the Sun, Moon, or planets with it. The development process was guided by several reviews, and students were evaluated based on the outcomes of their development processes and documentation. Through this program, students acquired fundamental principles of systems engineering and PM, as well as optical and mechanical engineering skills.

  • 현재 많은 사람들의 관심을 받고 있는 유비쿼터스 시스템(Ubiquitous System)이 주는 가장 큰 이점은 언제 어디서나 원하는 서비스를 사용할 수 있는 것이다. 따라서 이를 사용가능하게 하기 위해서는 유비쿼터스 시스템이 무선네트워크를 지원하여야 하며 또한 소형의 장치로 사용자가 간편하게 사용할 수 있어야 한다. 그러나 이러한 특성들로 인하여 유비쿼터스 시스템은 네트워크 불량, 자원 부족 등과 같은 문제점을 가지고 있으며 이것은 사용자 서비스의 질과 직접적으로 연결된다. 더욱이 이것으로 인하여 사용자가 서비스 사용에 불편을 겪는다면 유비쿼터스 시스템 사용에 대한 신뢰도는 떨어질 것이다. 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 유비쿼터스 시스템에서 일어날 수 있는 결함을 분석하고 이에 대한 적절한 조치를 취하여 사용자가 서비스를 사용하는데 있어서 불편을 초래하지 않아야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 시스템에서 사용될 수 있는 결함 분석기를 개발하였으며 또한 실제로 유비쿼터스 시스템 관리 유틸리티에 적용하였다. 본 결함 분석기에서는 메모리 결함, 배터리 결함, 네트워크 결함, 및 heartbit 결함에 대하여 정의하고 결함을 감지할 수 있도록 하였으며 또한 Java Exception 메시지를 이용하여 조기에 결함을 분석할 수 있도록 개발하였다.

도심건물 밀집지역 배전 Station 건설(상)

  • 오늘날 국민생활에 전기의 의존도는 날로 높아지고 또한 매우 다양하고 고품질의 전력공급을 요구하고 있으며 정보산업사회로의 진입에 따라 고객의 기대수준에 전력공급설비의 발달이 미처 따라주지 못하고 있어 고객에게 감동을 주는 서비스의 실현이 더욱 어려워지고 있는 것이 현실이다. 특히 서울 명동지역은 구건물의 밀집지역으로 상권이 형성되어 있고 외국인 관광객들의 명소로 점차 자리잡아 가고 있는데 반해 전력공급설비는 국내 초기 지중화지역으로 기기설치 공간이 부족하여 노후된 건물 옥상에 다수의 변압기, 케이블이 설치 운영되고 있어 설비관리의 어려움뿐만 아니라 신규전력공급에 부응치 못하는 한계에 도달, 특히 밀집상가의 화재발생 우려 등 많은 문제점으로 안정적 전력공급을 위한 대책이 절실히 요구되는 상황이 되었다. 따라서 이 난해한 문제의 해결과 설비개선을 위해 보다 근원적인 대책을 모색하고자 ‘99년 초 한국전력공사 서울지역본부에 설비혁신 Task-Force를 운영, 명동지역에 가칭 배전 Station 건설을 포함한 종합정비사업을 추진키로 하였다. $\ulcorner$배전 Station$\lrcorner$ 이란 건물 내에 개폐기, 변압기 등 전력기기를 모두 수용하여 전력을 공급하는 소형 배전형 변전소 형태로 국내는 물론 세계적으로도 찾아보기 힘든 경우라 할 것이다. 건울과 설비가 복잡하기로 유명한 유서 깊은 명동지역의 특수한 주변 환경과 조화된 안정적 전력공급의 획기적인 대안으로 실현되고 있는 영동 배전 Station은 현재 3개소를 추진하여 준공단계에 있으며 도심건물 밀집지역의 전력공급에 만전을 다할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Design of AC/DC Combined V2X System for Small Electric Vehicle (소형 전기차 적용을 위한 AC/DC 복합 V2X 시스템 설계)

  • The small electric vehicles equipped with V2X(vehicle to everything) systems may provide more information and function to the existing navigation system of the vehicle. The key components of V2X technology include V2V (vehicle to vehicle), V2N(vehicle to network) and V2I (vehicle to infrastructure). This study is to design and implementation of VI type E-PTO which is interfaced with external equipments, the work designs the components of E-PTO such as DC/DC converter, DC/AC converter, battery bidirectional charging system etc. Also, it implements the devices and control systems for driving. The test results of VI type E-PTO components showed allowable 10% requirements of transient voltage variation rate and recovery time within 100ms for start/stop and normal operation.

Development of Portable Multi-function Sensor (Mini CPT Cone + VWC Sensor) to Improve the Efficiency of Slope Inspection (비탈면 점검 효율화를 위한 휴대형 복합센서 개발)

  • In order to efficiently analysis the stability of a slope, measuring the shear strength of soil is needed. The Standard Penetration Test (SPT) is not appropriate for a slope inspection due to cost and weights. One of the ways to effectively measure the N-value is the Dynamic Cone Penetration Test (DCPT). This study was performed to develop a minimized multi-function sensors that can easily estimate CPT values and Volumetric Water Content. N value with multi-fuction sensor DCPT showed -2.5 ~ +3.9% error compared with the SPT N value (reference value) in the field tests. Also, the developed multi-fuction sensor system was tested the correlation between the CPT test and the portable tester with indoor test. The test result showed 0.85 R2 value in soil, 0.83 in weathered soil, and 0.98 in mixed soil. As a result of the field test, the multi-function sensor shows the excellent field applicability of the proposed sensor system. After further research, it is expected that the portable multi-function sensor will be useful for general slope inspection.

액체로켓엔진 조립장의 해외 사례

  • 액체로켓엔진 조립을 위한 엔진 조립장이 국내에 구축되어야 하며 이에 대하여 국내의 사례가 없으므로 해외 엔진 조립장의 사례를 조사하였다. SNECMA, EADS, Rocketdyne 등의 조립장의 구조, 레이아웃, 청정설비, 크레인 등을 조사하였다. SNECMA 엔진조립장은 Vulcain 엔진의 대형엔진 조립라인 및 HM7, Vinci 엔진 등의 소형엔진 조립라인으로 구성되어 있다. 청정도는 코어 및 Subassembly 조립실은 100 K class 이며, 기타 나머지 조립공간은 300K class로 구축되어 있다. EADS의 엔진 조립장은 중앙에 연소기 부품을 가공하는 가공장비들이 배치된 하이베이 구역이 있으며, 이 하이베이 구역의 측면에 사무실, 측정실, 회의실 등의 로우베이 기능실들이 배치되어 있다. Rocketdyne 엔진 조립시설은 청정도 300K class이하의 엄격한 청정도 관리가 없는 것으로 보이며 치구형태의 개별 플랫폼을 사용하여 공간 활용을 효율적으로 할 수 있도록 하고 있다.
