The Effect of Software Process Improvement on Organizational Performance (소프트웨어 프로세스 개선활동이 조직성과에 미치는 영향)

  • SPI (Software Process Improvement) activities have been considered one of the crucial approaches to achieve high quality, productivity and timely delivery of software products and services. The basic premise of SPI model is that higher maturity levels lead to better performance. In this research, the relationships between SPI results and performance were empirically investigated with Korean software companies. CMM key process areas were categorized into two dimensions, 'Process Implementation' and 'Quantitative Management'. The relationship between process implementation and performance was significant, but the relationship between quantitative management and performance was insignificant. The control variable, size of OU(Organizational Unit), did not have significant impact on the relation ships between SPI activities and OU performance.

A Process Improvement of Reverse Engineering and Delivery Steps for Service based Software Maintenance (서비스 기반 소프트웨어 유지보수를 위한 역공학과 인도 (Delivery)단계의 프로세스 개선)

  • According to software growth, also software maintenance has been continuously improving. In addition, the existing concept of software maintenance process demands operational management and improvement of service task. However, when we perform maintenance task, we have several constraints about applying service based requirement to system. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, we need a study of task of process for service based maintenance. In this paper, we propose a Service based Software Maintenance Process. Proposed process based on MaRMI-RE standard for software development and maintenance and compares it with the service based representative standards. In a related works, we study activity of ITIL and identify activities and tasks for maintenance. After this, identified activities and tasks compare with activities of MaRMI-RE. And then, we derive activities and tasks of a Service based Software Maintenance Process. Finally, we validate a result by comparing the proposed process with a general service operational process.

  • 현재 소프트웨어들은 웹서비스라는 새로운 분야로 확대되어 발전되고 있다. 또한 기존의 웹이 가지는 단점을 보완하기 위해 등장한 시멘틱 웹을 차세대 웹이라 말하고 이러한 시멘틱 웹을 사용하기 위한 않은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 에이전트가 정보의 의미를 이해하고 자동화한 기법들을 사용 할 수 있게 하는 시멘틱 웹에 대한 연구를 웹서비스(Webservice)분야로 확대시키고, DAML-S라는 독립된 연구분야로서 서비스내용에 대한 기술과 프로세스 컨트롤의 정의. 서비스를 접근하는 방법들을 에이전트가 수행하므로써 기존의 Syntactic기반 웹 서비스 검색구조가 가지는 문제점을 개선하고 에이전트가 추론형 검색엔진을 통하여 보다 정확하고 적합한 웹 서비스 검색을 가능하게 한다. 또한 개인화 기법들을 활용하여 효율성이 한 단계 높은 개인화 기능을 에이전트에게 부여하게 된다.

A Study on the Comparison of CMM and ISO9001 for Software Process Improvement (소프트웨어 프로세스 개선을 위한 CMM과 ISO9001간의 비교 연구)

  • Recently, CMM have been recognized as a critical factor to validate the competitiveness of software organizations, even if the organizations have already achieved the ISO9001 certification. Furthermore, the new version of ISO9001:2000 is being required instead of ISO9001:1994. Both CMM and ISO9001 have a common point 1ha t they pursuit quality improvement fur the organizations processes and products. Therefore, it is important to understand the similarities of specific requirements between the two models in software organizations which attempt to employ both of the models. from this background, this paper compares CMM and ISO9001 by considering the versions in 1994 and 2000 of ISO9001. The results of this research are likely to help software organizations make a decision for a strategy to adopt CMM and ISO9001.

  • 본 논문에서는 VR 콘텐츠의 확장 전망에 따라 콘텐츠 몰입과 경험을 향상시키기 위한 VR-UI 디자이너를 양성하기 위해 필요한 교육내용에 대해서 고찰하였다. 본 교의 교육과정 개발절차에 따라 역량을 설정하고, VR-UI 개발 프로세스를 정립하여 각 단계에서 필요한 역량을 충족시키기 위해 학습해야 할 내용과 이에 따라 학습이 필요한 소프트웨어와 VR-UI디자이너를 위한 교육내용에서 반드시 포함되어야 하는 내용에 대래서 정리했다. 시대가 요구하는 VR-UI 디자이너의 양성을 위해 게임개발자를 위한 역량에 더해 차세대 콘텐츠 제작 역량을 갖추고, 시뮬레이션을 적극적으로 시행할 수 있는 교육내용으로의 개선이 필요하다.

  • The software defects that are not found in the course of a project frequently appear during the conduct of the maintenance procedure after the complete development of the software. As the frequency of surfacing of defects during the maintenance procedure increases, the cost likewise increases, and the quality and customer reliability decreases. The defect rate will go down only if cause analysis and process improvement are constantly performed. This study embodies the defect tracking system (DTS) by considering the Pareto principle: that most defects are repetitions of defects that have previously occurred. Based on the records of previously occurring defects found during the conduct of a maintenance procedure, DTS tracks the causes of the software defects and provides the developer, operator, and maintenance engineer with the basic data for the improvement of the software concerned so that the defect will no longer be manifested or repeated. The basic function of DTS is to analyze the defect type, provide the measurement index for it, and aggregate the program defect type. Doing these will pave the way for the full correction of all the defects of a software as it will enable the defect correction team to check the measured defect type. When DTS was applied in the software configuration management system of the W company, around 65% of all its software defects were corrected.

  • 오늘날 기업에서의 IT 는 급격한 비즈니스 환경의 변화와 다양한 비즈니스 모델의 출현으로 인해 점점 더 복잡해지고 있고, 비즈니스의 IT 의존도 또한 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 기업의 정보시스템을 운영하는 IT 운영조직은 사용자에게 IT 서비스의 품질향상과 비즈니스의 연속성을 보장할 수 있는 지원체계를 필요로 하고 있다. 1990년대 후반에 들어서 ITIL 을 기반으로 한 ITSM 개념이 국내에 도입 되면서 기존의 콜센터와 헬프데스크를 통한 IT 서비스지원 방식을 서비스데스크로 통합하게 되었고, 서비스데스크 자동화 시스템의 도입을 통해 기업의 모든 비즈니스 조직의 IT 와 관련된 요구사항을 관리하고 있다. 하지만 이러한 서비스데스크 자동화 시스템은 IT 서비스 제공자 관점에서 구축되었고 운영방향 또한 어플리케이션, 서버, 네트워크 등 기술적인 구성요소의 성능 향상에만 초점을 두었기 때문에 현업 사용자들이 만족 할 수 있는 실질적인 수준의 서비스 개선은 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 고객관점에서의 요구사항 분석을 통해, 운영조직의 IT 서비스 요청에 대한 처리활동을 단순처리와 일반처리로 분류하고 이를 자동화 시스템에 반영 하였고, 실제 A 사(社)의 IT 운영조직에 적용하여, 비효율적인 저부가가치 활동과 고부가 가치의 활동이 시스템을 통해 분류가 가능함을 보였다. 아울러 IT 운영조직의 활동을 정량적으로 관리 할 수 있도록 관리지표를 발굴하고 자동화 시스템의 서비스요청관리 프로세스에 적용하여 IT 서비스를 제공받는 회사의 관리조직과 경영층이 IT 운영조직의 활동을 정량적으로 관리하고 측정할 수 있는 IT 서비스데스크 자동화 시스템의 개선모델을 제시 하였다.

Software Quality Classification Model using Virtual Training Data (가상 훈련 데이터를 사용하는 소프트웨어 품질 분류 모델)

  • Criticality prediction models to identify most fault-prone modules in the system early in the software development process help in allocation of resources and foster software quality improvement. Many models for identifying fault-prone modules using design complexity metrics have been suggested, but most of them are training models that need training data set. Most organizations cannot use these models because very few organizations have their own training data. This paper builds a prediction model based on a well-known supervised learning model, error backpropagation neural net, using design metrics quantifying SDL system specifications. To solve the problem of other models, this model is trained by generated virtual training data set. Some simulation studies have been performed to investigate feasibility of this model, and the results show that suggested model can be an alternative for the organizations without real training data to predict their software qualities.

  • Even the short history of the Web system, the technology related to the Web system has been developed rapidly. Yet, the quality of the Web-based application software has not been improved that much. For this reason, the efficient method to develop the Web-based application software is needed. This paper describes the items necessary to develop the Web-based application software. On the basis of ISO/IEC 12207-Software Life Cycle Processes this paper mainly suggests the analysis and design stage of the Web-based model for developing software. Also, this paper describes the methods to define the process and the entity for applying contents to Web-based application software. With the web-based model suggested in this paper the Web-RoadMap Methodology of KCC Information & Communication, a system provider in Korea, has been applied to the public-domain projects. Through the application, Web-RoadMap Methodology has been proved to be an applicable model for analyzing and designing the systems based on the web environments.

  • Software development methodology has been developed for satisfying goals of improvement in productivity and reduction in time-to-market through the reuse of software assets. The current methods that implement software product-line, one of software development methodologies, interfere massively with the core assets, which require high cost in assembly level reducing the effectiveness. In this paper, we introduce Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) as a method for improving assembly process in software product-line. The method that assembles core assets and variabilities is described by grammar elements such as Join point, pointcut and advice without code-change. We analyze requirements of a mini-system as an example adapting AOP and design using UML. Our study implements the variabilities, which are from design stage, using an Aspect-Oriented Programming Language, AspectJ and prove usability and practicality by implementing the proposed idea using an Aspect-Oriented Programming Language, AspectJ.
