The Optimal Surgical Approach and Complications in Resecting Osteochondroma around the Lesser Trochanter (소전자부 주위의 골연골종 절제 시 적절한 외과적 접근법과 합병증)

  • Purpose: Surgical risks associated with the resection of osteochondroma around the proximal tibia and fibula, as well as the proximal humerus have been well established; however, the clinical presentation and optimal surgical approach for osteochondroma around the lesser trochanter have not been fully addressed. Materials and Methods: Thirteen patients with osteochondroma around the lesser trochanter underwent resection. We described the chief complaint, duration of symptom, location of the tumor, mass protrusion pattern on axial computed tomography image, tumor volume, surgical approach, iliopsoas tendon integrity after resection, and complication according to the each surgical approach. Results: Pain on walking or exercise was the chief complaint in 7 patients, and numbness and radiating pain in 6 patients. The average duration of symptom was 19 months (2-72 months). The surgical approach for 5 tumors that protruded postero-laterally was postero-lateral (n=3), anterior (n=1), and medial (n=1). All 4 patients with antero-medially protruding tumor underwent the anterior approach. Two patients with both antero-medially and postero-laterally protruding tumor received the medial and anterior approach, respectively. Two patients who underwent medial approach for postero-laterally protruded tumor showed extensive cortical defect after resection. One patient who received the anterior approach to resect a large postero-laterally protruded tumor developed complete sciatic nerve palsy, which was recovered 6 months after re-exploration. Conclusion: For large osteochondromas with posterior protrusion, we should not underestimate the probability of sciatic nerve compression. When regarding the optimal surgical approach, the medial one is best suitable for small tumors, while the anterior approach is good for antero-medial or femur neck tumor. For postero-laterally protruded large tumors, posterior approach may minimize the risk of sciatic nerve palsy.

A Study of sacrificial rites related Royal Mausoleums in early Joseon Dynasty (조선초기 왕릉제사의 정비와 운영)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze contents and process of rites about sacrificial rites related Royal Mausoleums in early Joseon Dynasty, and to conclude, to review the position of Royal Mausoleums in the whole National Rites System. The sacrificial rites related Royal Mausoleums started from building Royal Mausoleums of 8 persons-ancestors since King T'aejo's great-great-grandparents, in 1392, founding Joseon Dynasty. In 1408, King T'aejo had died and his Kŏnwŏnnŭng (健元陵) was builted in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do. Since then, after kings of many generations died, each of Royal Mausoleums was builted solemnlly. In the process of this, sacrificial rituals modified and supplemented, especially during the reign of king Sejong(1418~1450). After all, the sacrificial rites related Royal Mausoleums was settled in KukchoOryeūi(國朝五禮儀, Five State Rites) compiled during the reign of King Sŏngjong. In process of Institutionalization of sacrificial rituals, the argument between king and vassals about four-seasons' ancestral rites was properly or not was occurred. That was because the memorial times of Royal Mausoleums overlaped Chongmyo's and more important Chongmyo's ancestral rites was neglected. But four-seasons' ancestral rites of Royal Mausoleums was continued until 17th century. Sacrificial rites related Royal Mausoleums as royal personal rites had simple processes compared to sacrificial rites of Chongmyo, upper-graded formal ancestral rites, under National Rites system. Justifying to served his parents with devotion, the kings in early Joseon Dynasty went to Royal Mausoleums 2-3 times annually. During coming and going, he show off his presence as king in power to his subjects through magnificent guard of honor. On the one hand, he met his subjects directly and acceded to various petition. Above all things, The kings in early Joseon Dynasty emphasized his military power through military training, namely, hunting, disposition of troops, and so on.

  • Nine monoclonal antibodies directed against infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus (IBRV) were prepared by using cell hybridization technique, and the biological properties of the antibodies were investigated by means of immunofluorescence, serum neutralization, and electrophoretic analysis. Eight of 9 monoclonal antibodies reacted specifically with the antigenic constituents of IBRV, infectious laryngotracheitis virus, Marek's disease virus, turkey herpesvirus, hog cholera virus, porcine parvovirus and transmissible gastroenteritis virus. However, the remaining one, 26-2 clone, was found to be cross-reactive with pseudorabies virus. Two monoclonal antibodies, 7-C-2 and 12-A-2, which had neutralizing activity, were reactive with the molecular weights of 72 kilo daltons (72K) and 125K of IBRV proteins electrophoretically separated, respectively. The monoclonal antibody, 3-H-3, which is corresponding to 94K of IBRV proteins, revealed no neutralizing activity. The cross-reactive monoclonal antibody, 26-2, was proved by electrophoretical analysis to be reactive with 100K of IBRV proteins and 40K of pseudorabies virus.

A Study of the Sulmunhaejaikjing ("설문 해자익징" 연구)

  • This dissertation evaluate3 the Sulmunhaejaikjing, published in 1912, by Sun-Soo Park, an ideographic scholar of the late on Korean Chosun Dynasty. This study first explores the compilation, structure andmethodology of the Chinese written characters in Sulmunhaejaikjing. Second, it studies the Sulmunhaejaikjing's distinctive features by means of a comparison with some works of Sulmunhak of the Chung Period in China. Since the motivation of writing of his work was to correct the errors of Sulmunhaeja, Sun-Soo Park attempted several independent interpretations. The interpretive stucture of Sulmunhaejaikjing exactly follows the 14 Books and 540 Parts of Sulmunhaeja, but Park's work differs in interpretation methodology and content Huh Shin made Sojun characters the subject of the investigation, Sun-Soo Park corrected Huh Shin's errors by making the Pre-Sojun older Chinese characters the object of his investigation. Sulmunhaejaju by Tan Ok-Jae, the most distinguished work of spoken literature in the Chung period, adopted Huh Shin's interpretation and added notes, sothat. Tan Ok-Jae, like Huh Shit did not take into account the Pre-Sojun old Chinese character. Therefore, Sun-Soo Park's interpretation greatly differ from Tan Ok-Jae's. Among the scholars of Sulmunhak in the Chung Dynasty, it is Oh Dae-Jing, the writer of Sulmunhaejubo, that accomplished the most noticeable achievement in Sulmunhaeja, Oh Dae-Jing aimed to collect all the Chinese characters which were confirmable in the interpretation of Sulmunhaeja. This, Oh Dae-Jing in a nut neglected the independent interpretation of characters. Sun Soo Park however, demonstrated a pregressive character in basing his independent interpretation upon reliable resesources, even though he offered fewer character in number than did Oh Dae-Jing.

  • 현대의 물질문명은 에너지와 밀접한 관계가 있다. 모든 산업설비와 우리 주위의 문명의 이기는 어떤 형태로든 전기 energy를 빼고는 생각할 수가 없는 것이며 그 양상은 날로 깊어져 가고 있는 것이다. 특히 동력원으로서의 전기 energy는 각종 생산설비의 구동력, 상하수도, 농업용수의 양수동력등 큰 용량의 동력으로부터 가정용 의학용으 소전력에 이르기까지 관련 안되는 곳이 없으며 최근에는 FA, OA등에 사용되는 극소형동력으로까지 그 이용이 심화되고 있는 것이다. 따라서 전기 energy의 기계 energy로의 변환장치인 전동기는 인류문명이 지속되는 한 사용될 것이며, 그 응용적 측면에서 앞으로의 수요는 꾸준히 늘어날 것으로 보아 본고에서는 우리나라 전동기사업을 기술적 측면과 기업적 측면에서 조명하여 현재의 위치를 확인하고 장래를 전망하고저 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 군 항공용 레이더의 프로세서 유닛에 적용하기 위하여 $115/200VAC{\pm}10%$, 3상, 400Hz 및 +28VDC 입력, 최대 출력전력 488.5W, 효율 82%이상(@70%부하), 출력 전원 8개의 다중 출력 스위칭 전원공급기를 개발하였다. 개발 목표 효율인 82% 이상을 달성하기 위해 전력이 큰 3개의 출력에(+3.3V/55A, +5V/32A, +12V/10A) 대해 동기정류 하프브릿지 방식을, 나머지 소전력 출력은 다중 출력 플라이백 방식을 적용하여 설계 및 제작하였고, 시험 결과 70% 부하에서 83.3%의 우수한 효율 특성을 확인하였다. 또한, 군용 장비로써의 전자기 간섭 및 환경조건 만족 여부 확인을 위해 군사규격에 따라 신뢰성 시험을 수행하여 개발된 전원공급기의 신뢰성을 확인하였다.

A Research on Dielectric Characteristics of Small Current Interruption Considering Pre-Condition Test for Puffer Type Circuit Breaker (Pre-Condition 시험을 고려한 Puffer식 차단기의 진상소전류 차단성능에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the small current interruption capability of $SF_6$ puffer circuit breaker considering pre-condition. Firstly, the change of dielectric strength of the 3 breakers was compared with testing breakers as clean contacts and eroded contacts after 3 shots of 760 according to new IEC 62271-100 standard. Also the dielectric strength curve of each model was calculated through flow and electric field simulations. From these results, we could modify the empirical equation, being used to predict the dielectric strength of small current interruption capability, considering the effects of pre-condition.

  • This paper presents the prediction method of small current interruption Performance for EHV gas circuit breakers. The FVFLIC method is used for the gas flow analysis and the FEM for the electric field analysis. Then, the dielectric withstanding voltage is evaluated by the empirical formulation or Streamer theory. By comparing the calculated dielectric strength with the test result. it is found that both methods show good prediction capability for the small current interruption performance. Especially, when both methods predict the same interrupting performance, the prediction is in accordance with the experimental result.

  • EMC(Electromagnetic Compatibility) is the ability of an electronic device that operates properly in its intended electromagnetic environment and not be a source of pollution to that environment. The designer anticipates EMC problems at beginning of the process and finds remaining problems in early prototype stages, and tests the final prototypes for EMC as thoroughly as possible. This is a more cost-effective method. In this paper, it analyzes EMC problems that were appeared in actual measurement of electric power control device and presents reduction technique of these problems.
