Probabilistic Analysis of JPV Prime Generation Algorithm and its Improvement (JPV 소수 생성 알고리즘의 확률적 분석 및 성능 개선)

  • Joye et al. introduced a new prime generation algorithm (JPV algorithm hereafter), by removing the trial division from the previous combined prime generation algorithm (combined algorithm hereafter) and claimed that JPV algorithm is $30{\sim}40%$ faster than the combined algorithm. However, they only compared the number of Fermat-test calls, instead of comparing the total running times of two algorithms. The reason why the total running times could not be compared is that there was no probabilistic analysis on the running time of the JPV algorithm even though there was a probabilistic analysis for the combined algorithm. In this paper, we present a probabilistic analysis on the running time of the JPV algorithm. With this analytic model, we compare the running times of the JPV algorithm and the combined algorithm. Our model predicts that JPV algorithm is slower than the combined algorithm when a 512-bit prime is generated on a Pentium 4 system. Although our prediction is contrary to the previous prediction from comparing Fermat-test calls, our prediction corresponds to the experimental results more exactly. In addition, we propose a method to improve the JPV algorithm. With this method, the JPV algorithm can be comparable to the combined algorithm with the same space requirement.

  • LIDAR(Light Detection and Ranging) is a new technology for obtaining DEM(Digital Elevation Model)ewith high density and high point acuracy. As LIDAR emerged, DEM could be developed in the earthsurface more efficiently and more economically, compared to the conventional aerial photogrametry.In this study, a digital camera is simultaneously used in combined LIDAR surveying, and acquired digitial image and DEM produce digital orthoimage. In this process, methods of combining sensor andorthoimage, GCPs determined by GPS surveying are used. Two digital orthoimage are produced; onewith a few GCP and the other without them. The produced maps can be used to corect or revised1:1,000 or 1:5,000 scale maps acordingly.

Effects of Combined Treatment of Aqueous Chlorine Dioxide and UV-C or Electron Beam Irradiation on Microbial Growth and Quality in Chicon during Storage (이산화염소수와 UV-C 또는 전자빔 병합처리가 치콘의 저장 중 미생물 성장과 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of combined treatment of aqueous $ClO_2$ and UV-C or electron beam irradiation on microbial growth and quality in chicon during storage at $4^{\circ}C$ were investigated. Samples were treated separately with 50 ppm of $ClO_2$, 5 kJ/$m^2$ of UV-C, 2, 5, 7, and 10 kGy of electron beam irradiation, as well as a combination of $ClO_2$ and UV-C or 2 kGy of electron beam irradiation. The populations of total aerobic bacteria as well as yeast and molds in the chicon samples were determined following each treatment. The populations of total aerobic bacteria in the chicon samples decreased by 1.49~2.92 log CFU/g following combined treatment of $ClO_2$ and UV-C irradiation compared to the control, whereas the populations of yeast and molds decreased by 1.63~1.78 log CFU/g. On the contrary, following combined treatment of $ClO_2$ and electron beam irradiation, the populations of total aerobic bacteria as well as yeast and molds in the chicon samples were undetectable during storage. Color measurements indicated that Hunter $L^*$, $a^*$, and $b^*$ values were not significantly different among the treatments during storage. These results suggest that combined treatment of $ClO_2$ and electron beam irradiation can be useful for improving microbiological safety in chicon during storage.

Effects of Aqueous Chlorine Dioxide Treatment on Microbial Safety and Quality of Samgae Chicken (이산화염소수 처리가 삼계용 닭의 저온저장 중 미생물학적 변화 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • Aqueous chlorine dioxide ($ClO_2$) treatment of Samgae chicken was evaluated in terms of microbial safety and quality during refrigerated storage. Samgae chicken samples were treated with 0, 50, or 100 ppm of $ClO_2$ solution, and stored at $4^{\circ}C$ for 10 days. $ClO_2$ treatment significantly decreased the populations of total aerobic bacteria. One-hundred ppm $ClO_2$ treatment reduced the initial populations of total aerobic bacteria by 0.73 log CFU/g. The pH and volatile basic nitrogen values of Samgae chicken increased during storage, with no significant between-treatment difference. Sensory evaluation results showed that the quality of chicken treated with $ClO_2$ prior to refrigerated storage was better than that of the control. These results suggest that $ClO_2$ treatment could be useful in improving the microbial safety and quality of Samgae chicken.

  • 여기서 상기 ASME Code에 대하여 간단히 설명하기로 한다. ASME Code 는 첫부분에서 ASME Code의 적용을 받아야 하는 압력용기를 정의하고, 압력용기의 건설에 관한 일반원칙을 설명한후 그 다음에는 세개의 Subsection으로 나뉘어져 있다. 즉 Subsection A General Requirements Subsection B Requirements Pertaining to Methods of Fabrication of Pressure Vessels Subsection C Requirements Pertaining to Classes of Material 여기서 Subsection A는 압력용기 재료나 제작방법의 상위와 관계없이 적용하여야 할 일반적인 요구사항을 규정한 것이며, Subsedction B에서는 압력용기의 제작방법을 용접,리벳팅,단조,경납 땜의 4가지로 나누어 각 제작방법에 따른 특수 요구사항을 규정하였고, 마지막으로 Subsection C 는 재료에 따른 특수 요구사항을 규정한 것이다. 이 각 Subsection은 다시 General, Materials, Design, Fabrication, Inspection and Tests, Stamping and Reports, Pressure Relief Devices로 나누어 이에 대한 각각의 요구사항들을 설명하고 있다. 그러나 이 기술기준에서는 제정방향으로, 다음의 목차에서도 알 수 있는 바와 같이 이들의 순서를 바꾸어 총칙,재료,설계,제작, 검사 및 시험, 압력릴리프장치를 배치한 후 이미 KS B 6231에 제정되어 있는 것은 그 규정을 대부분 그 대로 인용하였고, 그렇지않은 것은 우리의 실정을 참작하여 삭제, 보완, 수정하였다. 삭제한 내용 중 대표적인 것으로 공인검사관(Authorized Inspector) 및 Stamping and Reports 에는 9개의 Mandatory Appendix 와 16개의 Nonmandatory Appendix가 있는데, 이둘 중 이 기술기준에서 필요하다고 생각되는 것은 발췌 수록하였다. 단위에 대해서는 국가시책에 따라 메트릭 시스템을 사용하였고 단위의 환산에서 야기되는 소수점등의 처리는 공학적인 판단에 의거하였다.

Effect of Combined Treatment of Aqueous Chlorine Dioxide with Ultraviolet-C on the Quality of Red Chicory and Pak Choi during Storage (이산화염소수와 Ultraviolet-C 병합 처리에 따른 레드 치커리와 청경채의 저장 중 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The combined effects of 10 kJ/$m^2$ ultraviolet-C (UV-C) with 50 ppm aqueous chlorine dioxide ($ClO_2$) on the qualities of red chicory and pak choi were examined. After the treatment, the samples were stored at $4{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ for 7 days. The combined treatment of $ClO_2$/UV-C reduced the initial populations of total aerobic bacteria in the red chicory and pak choi by 2.64 and 2.55 log CFU/g, respectively, compared to those of the control. Also, the populations of yeast and molds in the red chicory and pak choi by combined treatment were reduced by 2.41 and 2.00 log CFU/g, respectively. In addition, after 7 days of storage the total aerobic bacteria populations in the red chicory and pak choi were reduced to 3.71 and 3.93 log CFU/g, compared to 6.31 and 6.62 log CFU/g for the control, resulting in a significant decrease. Hunter L, a, and b values of red chicory and pak choi were not significantly different among the treatments. Non-thermal treatment caused a negligible change in sensory evaluation. These results suggest that the combined treatment of 50 ppm $ClO_2$ with 10 kJ/$m^2$ UV-C can be useful for maintaining the qualities of red chicory and pak choi.

  • Direct Georeferencing (DG) is based on the direct measurement of the projection centers and rotation angle of sensor through loading the GPS and INS in aircraft. The methods can offer us to acquire the exterior orientation parameters with only minimum GCPs, even the ground control process could be completely skipped. In this study, a CCD camera is simultaneously used in GPS/INS, and acquired CCD image through Direct Georeferencing produce digital orthoimage. In this process, methods of combining sensor and digital orthoimage are examined and estimated. For the comparison of the positioning accuracy digital orthoimage through Direct Georeferencing, GCPs determined by GPS surveying are used. Two digital orthoimage are produced; one with a few GCP and the other without them. The produced maps can be used to correct or revised 1:1,000 or 1:5,000 scale maps accordingly.

Probiotic Properties of Lactobacillus spp. Isolated from Gajami Sikhae (가자미식해에서 분리한 유산균의 프로바이오틱스 특성)

  • Forty species of lactic acid bacteria isolated from gajami sikhae were identified as Lactobacillus plantarum, Leuconostoc mesenteroides, Lactobacillus brevis, and Weissella paramesenteroides. 10 of the 40 strains were selected and used for the test. In this study, experiments such as those using acid and artificial gastric juice resistance, bile acid resistance, autoaggregation, coaggregation, and cell surface hydrophobicity were conducted to utilize lactic acid bacteria separated from gajami sikhae as probiotics. The separated lactic acid strains showed high survival rates through displaying resistance to acidic and artificial gastric juices; L. plantarum GS11 showed the best resistance. Also, as a result of a measurement of bile acid resistance, all lactic acid bacteria stocks showed survival of more than 100% with a probiotic number of 108 to 109 log CFU/ml. After evaluating cohesion to indirectly measure cell surface adhesion, autoaggregation ability was shown to be more than 46%. Measurement of xylene adhesion for cell surface hydrophobicity evaluation revealed better cell adhesion than B. subtilis, which has 32.2% hydrophobicity in isolated lactic acid strains. Antibacterial force measurement found antibacterial activity in lactic acid bacteria, excluding L. plantarum GS12 and L. plantarum GS13. Therefore, it was judged that lactic acid bacteria separated from gajami sikhae could be used as probiotics with various probiotic properties.

  • The on-line games in the past were played by only two persons exchanging data based on one-to-one connections, whereas recent ones (e.g. MMORPG: Massively Multi-player Online Role-playings Game) enable tens of thousands of people to be connected simultaneously. Specifically, Korea has established an excellent network infrastructure that can't be found anywhere in the world. Almost every household has a high-speed Internet access. What made this possible was, in part, high density of population that has accelerated the formation of good Internet infrastructure. However, this rapid increase in the use of on-line games may lead to surging traffics exceeding the limited Internet communication capacity so that the connection to the games is unstable or the server fails. expanding the servers though this measure is very costly could solve this problem. To deal with this problem, the present study proposes the load distribution technology that connects in the form of local clustering the game servers divided by their contents used in each on-line game reduces the loads of specific servers using the load balancer, and enhances performance of sewer for their efficient operation. In this paper, a cluster system is proposed where each Game server in the system has different contents service and loads are distributed efficiently using the game server resource information such as CPU utilization. Game sewers having different contents are mutually connected and managed with a network file system to maintain information consistency required to support resource information updates, deletions, and additions. Simulation studies show that our method performs better than other traditional methods. In terms of response time, our method shows shorter latency than RR (Round Robin) and LC (Least Connection) by about 12%, 10% respectively.

Effect of Combined Treatment of Ultraviolet-C with Aqueous Chlorine Dioxide or Fumaric Acid on the Postharvest Quality of Strawberry Fruit "Flamengo" during Storage ("플라멩고" 딸기의 수확 후 Ultraviolet-C와 이산화염소수 또는 푸마르산 병합 처리에 따른 저장 중 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The combined effect of 50 ppm aqueous chlorine dioxide ($ClO_2$) or 0.5% fumaric acid with $5 kJ/m^2$ ultraviolet-C (UV-C) on the postharvest quality of "Flamengo" strawberries was examined. After non-thermal treatment, the samples were stored at $4\pm1^{\circ}C$ for 12 days. The combined treatment of fumaric acid/UV-C reduced the initial populations of total aerobic bacteria and yeast and molds in the strawberries by 2.09 and 2.02 log CFU/g, respectively, compared to those of the control. In addition, after 12 days of storage the yeast and molds population in the combined treatment was 1.72 log CFU/g, compared to 5.10 log CFU/g for the control, resulting in a significant decrease of 3.38 log CFU/g. Postharvest treatments used in this study caused negligible changes in the color of the strawberries. Sensory evaluation results indicated that the combined postharvest treatment provided better sensory scores than did the control. In particular, the overall acceptability scores were higher for the combined treatment groups after 5 days of storage. These results suggest that combined treatment of either 50 ppm $ClO_2$ or 0.5% fumaric acid with $5 kJ/m^2$ UV-C can be useful for maintaining the quality of strawberries.
