  • New asymmetric dimer, 7,7'-substituted (or H)-4-oxo-2,2'- dialkyl-l,l',2,2'-dibenzothiazine-3,3'dicarboxylic acid methyl ester-1,1,1',1'-tetraoxide 3,4'-yl ethers 2a-d were synthesized through the oxidative dimerization of 7-substituted (or H)-4-hydroxy-2-alkyl-1,2-benzothiazine-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester 1,1-dioxides la-d using silver oxide($Ag_2O$). 4-Oxo-2,2'-dialkyl-1,1'2,2'-dibenzothiazine-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid methyl ester-1,1,1',l'-tetraoxide 3,4'-yl ether 2c was identified by X-ray crystal structure determination.

  • $(Ba_{0.8-x}Sr_{0.2})Y_xTiO_3\;(BSYT)$ powders were prepared by the calcination of metal-oxalate precipitates, which were obtained by wet chemical method using Ba, Sr, Y and Ti-nitrates and oxalic acid. Yttrium content, sintering temperature and cooling rate were taken as experimental factors. Response surface method was applied to modelling of the room temperature resistivity of BSYT. The results indicated that the Yttrium content had larger effect on the room temperature resistivity and minimum room temperature resistivity was at Yttrium content of 0.24 mol%. The validity of a modelling equation was confirmed by comparing the measured room temperature resistivity with the calculated one.

  • Brazing characteristics of the LTCC(Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics)/ Kovar(Fe-Ni-Co alloy) was investigated. Kovar is one of the typical material for the lid of MCM and packages. In case of alumina package, Brazing process is done by higher temperature profile than 800 $^{\circ}C$ and Ag-Cu alloy. But, LTCC has sintering temperature near 850 $^{\circ}C$. So, it is difficult to use the same process as alumina brazing. The adhesion strength of the brazed part is affected by brazing alloy and metallization properties between conductor pattern and LTCC material. We investigated brazing characteristics of the LTCC/Kovar using various brazing alloys(Ag-Cu, Au-Sn) and process conditions. And, we examined the influence of the glass contents in conductor on the brazing characteristics of the LTCC/Kovar.

Fabrication and Microstructure of Hydroxyapatite Coating Layer by Plasma Spraying (플라즈마 용사법에 의한 Hydroxyapatite코팅층의 제조와 미세구조)

  • The microstructure of nano-sized hydroxyapatite (HAp) powders coating layer on ZrO$_2$ substrate was investigated, which was formed by plasma spray process. The nano-sized HAp powders were successfully synthesized by precipitation of Ca(NO$_3$)$_2$$.$4H$_2$O and (NH$_4$)$_2$HPO$_4$ solution. The HAp coating layer with thickness of 150∼250 $\mu\textrm{m}$ was free from the cracks at interfaces between the coating and ZrO$_2$ substrate. In the plasma sprayed HAp coating layer, the undesirable phases were not found, while in the HAp coating layer heat-treated at 800$^{\circ}C$, TTCP, and ${\beta}$-TCP phase were detected as well as HAp phase. However, at 900$^{\circ}C$, they were completely disappeared. At 1100$^{\circ}C$, XRD analysis revealed that the coating layer was composed of the highly crystallized HAp.

  • This dissertation is about the development of $BaTiO_3$-type PTC(Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistor by composition method. A multilayer-type PTC samples were fabricated under optimal conditions after setting the experimental composition equation as ($Ba_{0.95-x}$S $r_{0.05}$$Ca_{x}$ )$TiO_3$-$0.01TiO_2$-$0.01SiO_2$-$\alpha$$MnCO_3$-$\beta$N $b_2$ $O_{5}$.) and their testing results were analyzed. The optimal sin-tering and cooling temperatures were 13$50^{\circ}C$ for two hours and $100^{\circ}C$/h for an hour, respectively; By composing Ca and Mn, dopants to lower the resistivity at room temperature, and Nb, a dopant to raise peak resistivity(Ca:5 mol%, Mn:0.08 mol%, Nb:0.18 mol%), appropriately, a PTC thermistor, having the characteristics of relatively low resistivity at room temperature and high peak resistivity and a good temperature coefficient, has been developed. And we find that it is possible of application for fire detection sensor.r.r.

  • Modified $PbTiO_3$ piezoelectric ceramics added with 0.2, 0.25, 0.3 mol of $CaCO_3$ and 0.04 mol of $(Co_{\frac{1}{2}}W_{\frac{1}{2}})$ and 0.05 mol of $MnO_2$ and NiO have been fabricated. These ceramics can be poled sufficiently within 10 minutes at $100^{\circ}C$ under about d.c. field of 40 kv/cm. Detailed measurement was performed on dielectric constants, cutie temperatures, elastic and piezoelectric properties and coupling factors for the fabricated ceramics. The most value of the piezoelectric coupling factors was coupling factor of thickness mode kt and its value for 0.25 mol of Ca was about $45\%$. Dielectric constants of $\varepsilon_{33}^T$ and $\varepsilon_{11}^T$ for 0.25 mol of Ca were 242 and 260, and coupling factor ratio (kt/Kp) and Qm were 6 and 357 respectively.

  • 최근 이동 통신 분야에서 전자기기들의 고주파화와 소형화에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 고주파 소자로서 필수적으로 사용 되어온 디커플링 캐패시터도 이 두 가지 요구를 만족시키기 위해 기존의 표면 실장형에서 평판 형태인 기판 내장형 캐패시터로 발전해 가고 있다. 이를 실현하기 위한 공정법으로 Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics (LTCCs)와 polymer composite등의 연구가 진행되고 있으나 LTCCs는 높은 공정온도에 의한 내부 확산과 서로 다른 열팽창 계수에 의한 소결후의 수축과 같은 단점들을 가지고 있으며 polymer composite 은 비교적 낮은 공정온도에도 불구하고 유전특성과 방열특성이 우수하지 못한 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 이러한 단점들을 극복하기 위해 Aerosol Deposition Method (ADM)를 주목하게 되었다. 이 공정 법은 상온 저 진공 분위기에서 세라믹 분말을 기판에 고속 분사시켜 기공과 균열이 거의 없는 치밀한 나노구조의 세라믹을 제작하는 새로운 코팅기술이다. 본 연구에서는 고주파용 디커플링 캐패시터의 응용을 위하여 상온에서 높은 유전율을 가지며 강유전체 물질인 $BaTiO_3$를 사용하였다. 출발원료로서 0.45 ${\mu}m$크기의 $BaTiO_3$ 분말을 이용하여 상온에서 submicron에서 수 micron의 두께로 성막하였다. 그러나 ADM으로 $BaTiO_3$ 막을 성막할 경우 유전율이 100이하로 급격히 떨어지는 현상이 기존 연구에서 보고되어 왔으며 본 연구에서도 이를 확인하였다. 디커플링 캐패시터의 밀도를 높이기 위해서 유전체의 유전율을 높이거나 두께를 앓게 하는 방법이 있으나 이번 연구에서는 박막화에 초점을 맞추어 진행하였다. 하지만 $BaTiO_3$ 막의 두께를 $1{\mu}m$이하의 박막으로 제조했을 경우 XRD 분석을 통하여 결정상이 얻어졌음을 확인했음에도 불구하고 유전체로서의 특성을 보이지 않았다. 이 원인을 $BaTiO_3$ 박막의 누설전류에 의한 것이라고 판단하고 $BaTiO_3$ 박막과 기판과의 계면 및 미세구조를 확인하였으며 이것이 전기적 특성에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였다.

Stretchable Characteristics and Power Generation Properties of a Stretchable Thermoelectric Module Filled with PDMS (PDMS로 충진된 신축열전모듈의 신축특성과 발전특성)

  • A stretchable thermoelectric module consisting of 5 pairs of Bi2Te3-based hot-pressed p-n thermoelectric legs was processed by filling the module inside with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and removing the top and bottom substrates. Its stretchable characteristics and power generation properties were measured. The integrity of the module was kept well even after 10 strain cycles ranging from 0 to 0.1. With increasing the tensile strain to 0.2, the module circuitry became open because of joint failure between Cu electrodes and thermoelectric legs. The stretchable thermoelectric module exhibited an open circuit voltage of 4.6 mV with a temperature difference of 2.2K across both ends of thermoelectric legs, and changes in its open circuit voltage were below 5% for tensile strains of 0~0.1. Being elongated for a strain of 0.1, it exhibited the maximum output power of 18.5 ㎼ with the temperature difference of 2.2K across its both ends.

  • The structural changes and dielectric properties of Pb1-x(Na1/2La1/2)x(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 compounds substituted by 0∼50 mol.% of Na+/La3+ mixed ions were investigated by X-ray diffraction method, IR and Raman spectroscopy, and LCR meter. The amount of perovskite phase increased with the increases of Na+/La3+ substituents and sintering temperatures. Although the superlattice lines due to 1:1 ordering were not detected by X-ray diffraction method, it was found, from the Raman spectroscopy and the increase of diffuseness coefficient, that the ordering behavior was related to the decrease of A site ion size. Dielectric properties in Pb1-x(Na1/2La1/2)x(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 were affected by the amount of perovskite phase, grain size, and density. The phase transitions were broadened and phase transition temperatures were lowered by the increase of Na+/La3+ ions.

A Study on the Characteristics of Solid Capacitor According to the Pyrolysis Methods (열분해 방식에 따른 고체 커패시터의 특성연구)

  • A Study on the characteristics of $Ta/Ta_2O_5/MnO_2$ capacitor applied $MnO_2$ by means of pyrolysis of manganese nitrate solution was carried out. Single phase of $MnO_2$ was obtained in the pyrolysis temperature range of 230 to $250^{\circ}C$ by TG/DSC analysis on manganese nitrate solution. Temperature of pyrolysis, concentration of manganese nitrate solution and the number of pyrolysis were selected for the basic parameters of embodying $MnO_2$ solid electrolyte and then the effects of these parameters on the characteristics of capacitor were estimated. The characteristics of capacitor pyrolyzed radiationally was superior to that of capacitor pyrolyzed convectionally on the basis of these optimized parameter conditions. It was verified that radiational pyrolysis formed smaller spherical $MnO_2$ particles than those of convectional one relatively and these facts resulted in forming uniform and dense solid electrolyte layer into the microporous sintered body of capacitor.
