  • 스크린 인쇄법에 의해 Si 기판에 PZT 후막의 제조에 있어서 주요 문제점은 낮은 소결밀도 및 PZT 후막과 Si 기판과의 반응현상이다. 이러한 현상을 억제하기 위해 본 연구에서는 스크린 인쇄법 및 PZT sol-gel 처리법의 혼합된 방법을 채택하여 Pt/TiO$_2$/YSZ/SiO$_2$/Si(100) 기판에 Zr/Ti 비가 52/48인 PZT 후막을 제조하였으며, 소결온도에 따른 잔류분극(P$_{r}$), 유전상수($\varepsilon$$_{r}$) 및 압전상수(d$_{33}$)를 측정하였다. 인쇄된 PZT 후막에 졸 처리함으로써 단순히 인쇄된 후막에 비해 전기적 특성이 증진된 결과를 얻었다.다.

  • Effect of the UO$_2$ powder characteristic changes by dynamic milling method on the density was investigated. particle size decreased and its shape was changed from irregular to round form with increasing milling time (0∼8 h), while its specific surface area and O/U ratio increased. It was shown that the sintered density decreased, while green density increased with these powder characteristic changes. It could be considered that this decrement was affected by increased O/U ratio of the UO$_2$ powder during dynamic milling.

  • The polarization characteristics of the cathodes were discussed which were composed YSZ and ${(La_{0.75 }Sr_{0.25 })}_{0.95}Mn_{0.8 }Co_{0.2}O_3$ The three-phase-boundary length increased with the addition of YSN resulting in the minimum po-larization resistance at 60(LSMC) : 40(YSZ) wt% When LSMC-YSZ compoiste cathodes was sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ minimum polarization resistance was observed and the capacitace increased with increasing sintering tem-perature.

  • Fine spinel powder was prepared from the Mg-Al double alkoxide synthesized using magnesium powder, aluminum foil and sec-butyl alcohol. This powder was compared with powder prepared by mixing two commercial alkoxides. The spinelization was started at 50$0^{\circ}C$ and was almost completed at 100$0^{\circ}C$ with a good crystallinity in the double alkoxide system. In mixed alkoxide system, homogeneous spinel powder was not obtained and MgO existed as a second phase because of solubility and hydrolysis rate differences of two alkoxides. The relative density of specimen prepared by double alkoxide was 99% and specimen prepared by mixed alkoxide was 95%. The modulus of rupture of specimens prepared by double alkoxide and mixed alkoxide was 49.9kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$ and 41.6kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$, respectively.

  • This paper is to determine the effect of binder burnout time and heating rate on the electrical propertries of type II multilayer ceramic capacitors(MLC). The quality of multilayer ceramic capacitor depends suitable on the binder burnout time, which is determined for at least 24 hours in the PVB-binder system. It is suggested that theelectrical properties of multilayer ceramic capacitor is due to the control of heating rate, with the dipole moment density from grain size distributiion. Comparing the fast firing with slow, we observed a small but consistent improvement in the electrical properties.

알루미나에서 강도에 미치는 마모의 영향

  • 세라믹재료는 ductility가 작아 그 강도가 균열의 가혹성, 즉 크기와 모양에 의하여 결정되는 특징을 가지고 있다. 한편 마모는 표면에 균열을 생성시킬 수 있기 때문에 강도에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 그러나 지금까지 강도에 미치는 마모의 영향은 잘 밝혀져 있지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 세라믹재료중에서도 물리적 성질들이 잘 알려져 있는 알루미나를 택하여 마모기구를 관찰하고 마모가 강도에 미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 소결후 고온등방가압 처리된 알루미나 소결체를 입수하여 3mmX4mmX40mm크기의 굽힘시험시편으로 가공하였다. 두개의 4mmX40mm면중에서 한명을 diamond paste $1\mu m$까지 사용하여 polishing하였다. 시편의 polishing된 면위에 질화규소 볼을 올려 놓고, 하중을 가한 상태에서 볼을 와복운동시켰다. 시편위에 형성되는 마모흔적의 길이를 16mm이상이 되도록 하였다. 왕복속도는 약 2 헤르쯔도 하였다. 하중은 300, 600, 900N으로 하였다. 윤활유로는 paraffin oil을 사용하였다. 마모시험이 끝난 시편을 광학현미경 및 주사전자현미경으로 관찰한 후, 4-점굽힘시험하여 강도를 구하였다. 4-점굽힘시험시 외부 및 내부 지지점간의 거리는 30mm, 10mm로 하였으며, cross head speed는 분당 0.5mm로 하였다.

Effect of Homogeneous Mixing of Sintering Additives by Coprecipitation Method on Mechanical Properties of Pressureless-Sintered $Si_3N_4$ (공침법에 의한 소결첨가제의 균일혼합이 $Si_3N_4$ 상압소결체의 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Effect of mixing homogeneity in powder mixtures of Si3N4 and sintering additive (10mol% YAG) prepared by coprecipitation on the mechanical properties of pressureless-sintered body was investigated. Sintering was performed in a graphtie furnace at 1850℃ for 0.5h under 0.15MPa N2 atmosphere using Si3N4 powder bed. Results from the measurement of Young's modulus, Vickers hardness, 4-point-bending strength, and KIC for the coprecipitation-treated (CP) and the mechanically-mixed specimens(MM) showed that a remarkable improvement in flexural strength and Weibull parameter can be achieved for the CPspecimens: (677±68MPa, 12.0) for CP samples and (539±108MPa, 5.5) for MM. Other properties were almost same irrespective of preparation methods.

Effect of Sintering Additives on the Oxidation Behavior of Hot Pressed Silicon Nitride (가압소결한 질화규소의 산화거동에 미치는 소결 첨가제의 영향)

  • Oxidation behavior of hot-pressed silicon nitride ceramics with various sintering additives has been investigated. The weight gain of each specimens has shown in the range of 0.11 mg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ ~3.4 mg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 140$0^{\circ}C$ for 192 h and eleven compositions have shown good oxidation resistance with the weight gain below 0.5 mg/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The oxidation rate has been shown to obey the parabolic rate law and the oxidized surface has consisted of $\alpha$-cristobalite and M2Si2O7 or MSiO3 (M=rare earth or transition metals) phase. The oxidation rate of each specimens has related to the eutectic temperature between additive oxide and SiO2, and ionic radius of additive oxides, respectively. From the above results, it could be concluded that the oxidation behavior of hot pressed silicon nitride is dominated by the high temperature properties of grain boundary glassy phase and the high temperature properties of grain boundary glassy phase are affected by the ionic radius of additive oxides.

  • In this study, presintered and full sintered low purity alumina ceramics were machined with various tools to clarify the effect of cutting fluid in machinability. The main conclusions obtained were as follows. When the presintered ceramics were wet machined with sintered diamond tool, the tool wear becomes extremely large, and higher cutting speed can be used than in the case of full sintered ceramics. The productivity of wet cutting with the sintered diamond tool is much higher than that of dry cutting. In the case of the CBN and ceramic tools, the tool wear were smaller at wet cutting than at dry cutting, especially exhibiting considerably larger grooved tool wear in wet cutting with ceramic tool.

  • WC-6%Co 소결체를 열처리할 때 발생하는, 시편 표면에서의 급격한 입자 성장 거동을 열처리 분위기를 변수로 하여 관찰하였다. 열처리 분위기로 수소와 메탄을 각각 사용하였고, 온도는 1400~145$0^{\circ}C$, 압력은 1~3 Torr, 그리고 시간은 100분까지 변화시켰다. 표면에서의 입자 성장은 수소 분위기보다 메탄 분위기를 사용하는 경우 훨씬 빠르게 일어났다. 그리고 열처리 온도가 증가할수록, 압력이 감소할수록 입자 성장 속도가 증가하였다. 이때 성장한 입자의 크기 분포는 비정규 분포를 보였다. 한편, 입자 성장은 열처리시 증발하는 시편의 Co 무게 감소와 밀접한 관계를 보였다. 이러한 표면에서의 입자 성장 현상을 열처리한 조건과 관련되어 WC-Co 상태도에서 예측할 수 있는, 탈탄-탄화 반응 및 비정상 입자 성장 현상 관점으로 설명하였다.
