Now a days, as a communications network is being broadband, IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) service which provides various two-way TV service is increasing. But as the data which is transmitted between IPTV set-top box and smart card is almost transmitted to set-top box, the illegal user who gets legal authority by approaching to the context of contents illegally using McComac Hack Attack is not prevented perfectly. In this paper, set-top box access security model is proposed which is for the protection from McComac Hack Attack that tries to get permission for access of IPTV service illegally making data line which is connected from smart card to set-top box by using same kind of other set-top box which illegal user uses. The proposed model reports the result of test which tests the user who wants to get permission illegally by registration the information of a condition of smart card which is usable in set-top box in certification server so that it prevents illegal user. Specially, the proposed model strengthen the security about set-top box by adapting public key which is used for establishing neighbor link and inter-certification process though secret value and random number which is created by Pseudo random function.

소비자에게 다양한 서비스 제공이 가능한 디지털TV산업은 국내에서 반도체와 휴대전화를 잇는 새로운 수익원으로 부각되면서 어떤 산업보다도 높은 기대를 받고 있다. 디지털TV는 가전과 IT의 결합으로 대표되는 정보가전의 중심축이자, 핵심 애플리케이션이 될 것으로 기대된다. 디지털TV산업이 활성화 되면서 셋톱박스시장에 대한 관심도 높아지고 있어 현 시장에 대한 분석과 전망을 통한 구체적 전략이 필요하다.

최근 급속하게 발전하고 있는 컴퓨터, 인터넷 분야의 디지털 기술과 함께 방송 환경도 기존의 아날로그 방식에서 디지털 방식으로 바뀌어 가고 있다. 최근 이러한 디지털 방송 환경의 도입으로 A/V 프로그램의 고화질 서비스 제공과 더불어 다양한 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 방송망을 통해 전송할 수 있는 데이터방송 기술에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 현재 실시간 운영체제(Real Time O/S)를 이용한 독립형 데이터방송 셋톱박스들의 성능은 Java 나 XML을 기반으로 저작된 콘텐츠들을 처리할 수 있으나 MPEG-4와 같은 객체 기반의 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 처리하기에는 연산 능력의 한계를 가지고 있다. 그러나 앞으로 데이터방송 서비스의 발전 방향은 시청자가 직접 방송 내용에 대해 활발하게 상호 작용을 할 수 있는 대화형 방송 서비스로 발전할 것이다. 이러한 대화형 방송에서 사용되는 콘텐츠는 복잡하고 계산량이 많이 요구되며 이를 처리하기 위해서 셋톱박스는 높은 연산량을 가진 다양한 멀티미디어 기능을 처리할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 디지털 지상파 데이터방송시 ATSC-DASE 기반의 콘텐츠와 MPEG-4 콘텐츠를 수신하고 처리할 수 있는 PC 기반의 고성능 셋톱박스에 대한 설계 방안을 제안한다.

This paper is the study of Multiple External Storage Configuration for the Android based Set-top Box system. Because of Mobile OS, Android has limitation in media streaming, recording and playing for Set-top box function with only support external storage device Micro-SD card. In this paper, we research for the Multiple External Storage configuration for external disk drive, USB Memory, SD card. in Android System with Multi-Volume Management system implementation.

This paper, we study on multiple wireless network module support for the Android based set-top box. Limitation of mobile OS, Android based set-top box has limited choice of various wireless network modules, Atheros, Realtek, Ralink, etc. In this paper, for the request of Set-top box supplier and market demands, we research on reconfigure & change the Android network HAL(Hardware Abstract Layer) for Wi-Fi networking support and implementation about multiple Wi-Fi module support platform.

This paper is the study of effective recovery system in the android set-top box, using NTP (Network Time Protocol). Because of Response to the user react quickly in case of a set-top box, needs compared to other electronic products, set-top box is one of always powered features to work at home. But general-purpose OS such as Android-based set-top box have to reset for cache & main memory initialization. In this paper, we introduce system reset & recovery by NTP client utilizing.

Because of the convergence between Internet and broadcast communication, users are able to use multimedia contents anytime. In addition, with the change of existing one-way service to two-way service, the provider can offer efficient and useful broadcast communication. However, As multimedia contents is provided by STB, it can validate only end-node STB. Thus, this method is limiting possibilities of individual service. Also, providers' STB are different, so problem of compatibility is emerging as an issue. Therefore, in this paper we proposed STB virtualization based enhanced IPTV user authentication system to improve individual authentication and compatibility of services.

This paper describes a digital video recorder-based approach to realising interactive programmes on digital television. So far, it is very difficult that the most interactive programmes included the vast quantities of the content, whatever it is data or HD-ready broadcasting, are broadcasted on digital television via the set-top box. Furthermore it is not possible to envisage until IPTV was appeared. Even though IPTV makes possible for streaming the interactive services via broadband, it is not easy to receive tremendous contents for interactivity as set-top box at once. In this paper it will suggest an effective solution to resolve the download dilemma for the interactive services on DTV by employing the set-top box fitted with digital video recorder.
