  • 실험기구의 청결도는 실험 및 분석에 있어서 생명과 같이 중용한 것으로 실험실에서 초자기구와 그외 기구, 그리고 장비 등을 사용하는 연구자와 실험요원들이 원하는 바는 이 기구들이 완전히 청결한 상태를 유지하는 것이다. 눈에 보이지 않는 찌꺼기들은 시료분석의 오차를 유발하고, 분리속도를 증가 또는 감소시키며, 미생물 실험에 있어서는 2차 감염이나 배양물 성장저해 그리고 신속성이 낮아지는 결과 등 많은 문제점을 초래하게 된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 실험기구는 청결히 세척되어야 하며 어떠한 방해물질도 완전히 제거되어야 한다. 이는 바로 적절한 세척제를 선택하고 또한 효과적인 세척방법이 병행되어야 함을 뜻한다. 본 고에서는 세척제의 선택과 세척방법에 대하여 간략히 논해보고자 한다.

Review of root canal irrigant delivery techniques and devices (최신 근관 세척 방법과 기구에 대한 고찰)

  • Introduction: Eliminating the residual debris and bacteria in the root canal system is one of the main purposes of the endodontic treatment. However, the complexity on the anatomy of the root canal system makes it difficult to eliminate the bacterial biofilm existing along the root canal surface and necrotic pulp tissue by mechanical instrumentation and chemical irrigation. Recently, more effective irrigant delivery systems for root canal irrigation have been developed. The purpose of this review was to present an overview of root canal irrigant delivery techniques and devices available in endodontics. Review: The contents of this paper include as follows; - syringe-needle irrigation, manual dynamic irrigation, brushes - sonic and ultrasonic irrigation, passive ultrasonic irrigation, rotary brush, RinsEndo, EndoVac, Laser Conclusion: Though technological advances during the last decade have brought to fruition new agitation devices that rely on various mechanisms, there are few evidence based study to correlate the clinical efficacy of these devices with improved outcomes except syringe irrigation with needle and ultrasonic irrigation. The clinicians should try their best efforts to deliver antimicrobial and tissue solvent solutions in predictable volumes safely to working length.

Influence of Ozonated Water and Washing Method Using Ozonated Water for Controlling Food-borne Disease Bacteria (오존수와 오존수를 이용한 세척방법이 식중독 세균 제어에 미치는 영향)

  • The efficacy of the ozonated water (0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 1.0 ppm) in reducing the risk of food-borne disease was investigated in this study. After inoculation of Listeria monocytogenes (ATCC 19112), Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica biovar Typhimurium (ATCC 12598), Escherichia coli O157:H7 (ATCC 43890) to lettuce, spinach, and beef, inhibition effect with different washing concentrations, time, and methods with ozonated and tap water were evaluated. As a result, there were 2.16 to 3.85 log CFU/mL reduction in different foods and 7 log CFU/mL reduction on cutting boards after watering with ozonated water. Higher than 0.2 ppm of ozonated water treatment reduced the growth of food-borne disease bacteria with increasing washing time and ozone concentration. These results suggested that the ozonated water treatment effectively improved the microbiological quality and food safety.

Wahsing Effect of Micor-Bubbles and Changes in Quality of Lettuce (Lacutuca sativa L.) during Storage (마이크로버블에 의한 상추의 세척효과 및 저장 중 품질변화)

  • We assessed quality changes in and washing effects (time and method) on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) treated with micro-bubbles. Samples were treated with micro-bubbling for 1, 3, or 5 min, and the 5-min treatment yielded the best results in terms of reduced total microorganism counts, sensory aspects, and degree of washing. Total microorganism counts were 4.30 log colony-forming units (CFU)/g in unwashed lettuce(CT), 4.10 log CFU/g in hand-washed lettuce (HW), 3.98 log CFU/g in conventional, bubble-washed lettuce (BW) and 3.25 log CFU/g in micro-bubble-washed lettuce (MW). In comparison, total counts of samples examined after 10 days of storage were 7.00 log CFU/g for CT, 6.19 log CFU/g for HW, 6.02 log CFU/g for BW, and 5.89 log CFU/g for MW. The lowest counts were seen after micro-bubble treatment. BW and MW samples showed significantly higher counts than did CT and HW samples. In general, BW and MW samples did not vary significantly in count numbers. MW showed a 2.3-fold lower residual pesticide level compared with CT, and also had the lowest level of impurities. HW and BW samples were not well washed.

Storage Attribute of Angelica keiskei Juice Treated with Various Electrolyzed Water (전기분해수 세척방법을 이용한 신선초 녹즙의 저장 특성)

  • The storage attributes of green juice prepared by washing Angelica keiskei with various washing solutions using air bubble method were investigated. The washing solutions were distilled water (DW), sodium hypochlorite electrolyzed water (SHEW), and slightly acidic electrolyzed water (SAEW). During storage at $4^{\circ}C$, the number of bacteria after 1 day was $>10^5$ CFU/mL when DW was used, whereas bacterial growth was $<10^5$ CFU/mL after 4 days when SHEW or SAEW was used. The pH and color were not changed, and the polyphenol content, electron donating ability and total antioxidant ability were decreased slowly with the increase of storage time. No significant difference in any of the measured properties was found among washing methods (p<0.05). Consequently, these results suggest the possible use of electrolyzed water for washing to enhance the shelf life of green juice with A. keiskei because SHEW and SAEW decreased bacterial growth without affecting other properties of the green juice.

Feasibility Study on Remediation for Railroad-contaminated Soil with Waste-lubricant (윤활유 유래 철도 오염토양의 정화방법 연구)

  • In this study, the feasibility of soil washing, chemical oxidation and sonication was investigated to treat lubricantcontaminated railroad soil. Tergitol, a non-ionic surfactant, was used as a washing agent with or without iso-propyl acohol as a cosolvent. However, it was not effective to remove lubricant from soil even though tergitol was the most effective washing agent for diesel-contaminated soil. The cosolvent reduced the overall washing efficiency. Chemical oxidation removed 30% of lubricant from contaminated soil. Soil washing after chemical oxidation extracted additionally 16-17% of lubricant. Sonication enhanced-soil washing showed enhanced overall efficiency of soil washing. Lubricant-contaminated soil should be remediated by the other technology used for diesel-contaminated soil.

Verifying Rehabilitation and Evaluation of Bedrock Wells using Air-brush Surging and Explosive Methods (공기-브러쉬와 폭약 세척 방법에 의한 암반관정의 세척 효과 검증)

  • The application of appropriate rehabilitation works can improve productivity and water quality of clogged wells, with extending the operation of the wells for a certain period. This study verified rehabilitation effect of the clogged wells by means of explosive method and air brush surging and by using hydraulic tests, water quality, and geophysical logs (optical and acoustic televiewer logs) before and after the cleaning works on the two wells drilled in bedrock in Mt. Geumjeong, Busan City. Air-brush surging method resulted in maximum 273% increase of the productivity with the concentration of $F^-$, $SiO_2$, and a decrease of turbidity and the concentration of $Cl^-$, $NO_3^-$. The explosive method resulted in maximum 156% increase of the productivity with an increase of the concentration of $F^-$, $SiO_2$ and a decrease of turbidity, $Cl^-$, $NO_3^-$.

Analysis of Harmful Microorganisms in Raw Cereal Materials and Processing Environment for Sunsik (선식용 곡류원료의 위해미생물 제거를 위한 세척방법에 따른 효과)

  • There are various kinds of cereals used in sunsik manufacturing. Different harmful microorganisms that can contaminate these cereals have been reported. According to the different sizes of cereals used, black bean, black rice, and millet were artificially contaminated with Escherichia $Coli.$ $E.$ $coli$ contamination in cereal samples was detected after different washing steps under different conditions. The increase of washing time did not have any effect with regard to reducing $E.$ $coli$ in samples. Among several ratios between the washing solution and sample, 2:1 that have little influence to reduce $E.$ $coli$ contamination have been determined. The temperature of the washing solution is an influencing factor as well. Washing with solution at $40^{\circ}C$ could reduce 1 log of $E.$ $coli$ in samples. Among different concentrations of saline used as a washing solution, 5% could reduce 2~3 log $E.$ $coli$ in contaminated samples. However, the saline adds a salty taste to cereals when used during the washing step. To remove that, an extra washing step and large amount of washing solution are necessary in sunsik manufacturing.

  • 배관 내에 압축공기를 주기적으로 분사하여 맥동현상이 일어나도록 하면서 기포를 발생시켜 기포가 관의 내벽에서 성장하여 파괴될 때 관내에 부착된 이물질을 제거할 수 있고, 또한 세척효과를 높이기 위하여 관의 벽면에 접촉하면서 배출되는 과정에서 이물질을 제거할 수 있는 장치를 이용한 세척방법의 적용성에 대해서 고찰하고자 한다.
