위치기반서비스(Location-based Services: LBS)는 현재 이동통신 기술의 발달과 더불어 전 세계 이동통신시장에서 가장 활발하게 연구되고 있는 차세대 기술 분야이다. 국내에서는 최근 이동통신 회사에서 위치기반서비스에 기반을 둔 다양한 부가서비스를 제공하면서 위치기반서비스에 대한 높은 관심을 받고 있다. 위치기반서비스는 기술별로 위치측위기술, LBS플랫폼 기술, LBS 응용서비스 기술로 분류될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 1991년부터 현재까지 위치기반서비스의 기술 분야별로 출원 및 등록된 특허를 분석함으로서 위치기반서비스의 기술동향에 대해 살펴본다.

차세대 방송에 대한 기술발전과 산업의 성장은 새로운 방송서비스의 출현을 기정사실로 하고 있다. 그러나 UHDTV에 관한 정책적 관심도는 상대적으로 3D에 비해 낮았는가 하면 최근 주목을 받고 있는 스마트TV보다 아직 주목을 덜 받고 있다. 본 연구는 UHDTV 방송서비스의 효과적인 정착을 위해 UHD 방송서비스 부문별 현황을 기반으로 기술, 제작, 유통, 소비, 사용자 등과 관련된 정책적 과제를 도출하고 이에 대한 시사점과 발전 방향을 제시하고자 했다.

올해 데이터베이스 시장은 ORDBMS로 기능을 확대한 '유니버설 서버' 개념을 중심으로 업체별 새로운 포석을 둔 시기라고 볼 수 있다. 인터넷, 인트라넷 등 웹 기반 신조류에 부응하기 위해서는 데이터베이스 업체들도 저마다 자구책 마련이 시급했던 것이다. 따라서 인포믹스를 필두로 오라클, 사이베이스, 아이비엠과 윈도우 NT 성장과 발맞춰 DB 서버시장에서의 승리를 장담하고 있는 마이크로소프트의 적극적 공세가 주목을 끌고 있다. 유니버설 서버를 중심으로한 업체별 신제품을 통해 데이터베이스 업계의 현황과 향후 전망을 진단해 본다.

This study uses a quantile regression analysis to investigate intergenerational economic mobility in Korea. The analysis is based on data from the 1st through 11th waves of the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study (KLIPS) conducted from 1998-2008. The household nature of the data allows us to link parents' incomes to children's incomes at different points in time. Using a quantile regression analysis instead of mean one reveals that the effect of fathers' earnings are different across the conditional distribution of sons' earnings, particularly being larger on the upper quantile than on the lower quantile. After controlling effect of sons' college education by including a dummy variable for the degree, however, the pattern among quantile effects for fathers' earnings is no longer clear. Instead a new pattern emerges that education has a much larger effect on the upper quantiles than on the lower ones. Using nonparametric estimates of conditional density curves based on the quantile regression results, we derive some interesting features in graphical forms, which are not obvious in numerical analysis.

This paper analyzed deaths caused by fires using the Annual Report on the Cause of Death Statistics (based on vital registration) published by the Korea National Statistical Office. The number of fire deaths and the fire death rates of all deaths have started to decrease since the height in 1993. The younger groups have increasingly more fire deaths than the older groups. While children groups(age 10 and under) have decreased in their deaths caused by fires, the older groups (65 and over) tend to increase. Males are more likely to have a risk than females in all age groups. Fire death rates per 100,000 populations by age group suggest very high rates in the older groups. Although there are few changes in death rates caused by fires of all deaths, young children (age 4 and under) and older adults (age 75 and over) have a higher risk than any other age groups.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic information necessary for the establishment of mobile service marketing strategies, educational service development, and engineering education for Generation Z by analyzing the utilitization of various applications by Gen Z. To this end, 177 essays on mobile service usage experience were collected, major topics were analyzed using topic modeling, and these were visualized through word cloud analysis. As a result of the study, the main topics were related to 'transportation' such as movement and public transportation, 'personal management' such as schedule management, financial management, food management, 'transaction' such as checkout, meeting, purchase, 'leisure' such as eating out, travel, study, culture. Additionally, words such as time, thought, people, life, bus, information, confirmation, payment, KakaoTalk, and so on were found to have a high of frequency of use. Also, there was found to be a difference between topics by college. This study is meaningful in that it collected essays, which are unstructured data, and analyzed them through topic modeling.

The Korean Integrated Model (KIM) forecast system was extended to assimilate Horizontal Line-Of-Sight (HLOS) wind observations from the Atmospheric Laser Doppler Instrument (ALADIN) on board the Atmospheric Dynamic Mission (ADM)-Aeolus satellite. Quality control procedures were developed to assess the HLOS wind data quality, and observation operators added to the KIM three-dimensional variational data assimilation system to support the new observed variables. In a global cycling experiment, assimilation of ALADIN observations led to reductions in average root-mean-square error of 2.1% and 1.3% for the zonal and meridional wind analyses when compared against European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) Integrated Forecast System (IFS) analyses. Even though the observable variable is wind, the assimilation of ALADIN observation had an overall positive impact on the analyses of other variables, such as temperature and specific humidity. As a result, the KIM 72-hour wind forecast fields were improved in the Southern Hemisphere poleward of 30 degrees.

In 1987, the Equal Employment Opportunity Law was enacted, which indicated the institutional regulation against gender-discriminatory labor practices. Until the late 1980s, women were forced to quit upon marriage. It had influenced negatively on women status in the labor market. In this paper, 1 try to examine how the institutional change affects young educated women's work behaviors. The change of the education and family effect on work will be examined. For analysis, data from 2002 Women's Work Survey is employed. The results show the followings. Among women of young generation, negative effect of education has disappeared and turned out to be positive among the never married. But, marriage and the family responsibility still influence negatively on young women's participation into the labor market. In making a decision to work, husband's attitude is more important than wife's own. But, among the single, women's own attitude toward work plays an important role. In overall, women of young generation is also influenced by the family responsibility as much as the previous generation. The negative effect of marriage and the family responsibility on women's working is stronger among the college educated women.
