Face Deformation Technique for Efficient Virtual Aesthetic Surgery Models (효과적인 얼굴 가상성형 모델을 위한 얼굴 변형 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a deformation technique based on Radial Basis Function (RBF) and a blending technique combining the deformed facial component with the original face for a Virtual Aesthetic Surgery (VAS) system. The deformation technique needs the smoothness and the accuracy to deform the fluid facial components and also needs the locality not to affect or distort the rest of the facial components besides the deformation region. To satisfy these deformation characteristics, The VAS System computes the degree of deformation of lattice cells using RBF based on a Free-Form Deformation (FFD) model. The deformation error is compensated by the coefficients of mapping function, which is recursively solved by the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) technique using SSE (Sum of Squared Error) between the deformed control points and target control points on base curves. The deformed facial component is blended with an original face using a blending ratio that is computed by the Euclidean distance transform. An experimental result shows that the proposed deformation and blending techniques are very efficient in terms of accuracy and distortion.

A study on the runner system for filling balance in multi-cavity injection molds (다수 캐비티 사출금형에서의 균형 충전을 위한 러너 시스템 연구)

  • In this study, flow characteristics in a multi-cavity injection molding process were investigated. One of main problems occurred in the multi-cavity molding is a flow imbalance among cavities since it affects physical properties and quality of products. Charge imbalance is caused by the uneven shear stress. Therefore, changes in viscosity affect the physical properties of resin and injection conditions differ in the filling imbalance phenomenon. Through, this study focus on experimental studies of flow imbalance for PC and PP resin occurring in a balanced delivery system. Experimental results were compared with CAE results. By experimental and CAE analysis, main cause for the flow imbalance is temperature distribution in cross section of runner. New runner system with a simple change of runner shape was suggested to avoid the flow imbalance. A series of simulation to confirm feasibility of Volume Runner's effects was conducted using injection molding CAE.

Forming Conditions of Curved Glass using Force Applying System of Glass Molding System (유리성형시스템의 힘측정기반 가압장치를 이용한 곡면유리 성형조건)

  • This paper describes the forming conditions of smart-phone curved glass using the glass molding system with force applying system. The force applying system is composed of a body, a motor and gear, a rectilinear movement structure, a force sensor, a LVDT sensor (Linear Variable Differential Transformer), a up and down moving block, and so on. The glass molding system for characteristic test to find the forming conditions consists of the force applying system and a chamber, a metallic mold, a upper heater, a lower heater and so on. The characteristic test for forming conditions of smart-phone curved glass was carried out at forming temperature $620^{\circ}C$ and $650^{\circ}C$ using the glass molding system. As a result of the characteristic test, the forming conditions of curved glass could be found, and it is thought that the conditions can be used to apply to the system for producing in large quantities.

A study on the Influence Affected on Injection Molding Product by Vacuum Degree (진공도가 사출성형제품에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Non-molding and welding line happen by the assembly of gas at the connector terminal. There is not good phenomenon of burr by increasing the over injection pressure, the temperatures of die and resin to prevent from them. Therefore, the connector mold to apply the vacuum molding system is developed in this study. The vacuum pressure is controlled systematically with the optimum conditions in the important ingredients of injection molding that are the temperatures of melting resin and die and cooling condition. The badness in charging is cleared by making a vacuum to non-charging part of the deep bottom part of each cavity. And the vacuum system to reduce the cycle time is applied as the study envelopment of molding work. So, the good product and the productivity improvement can be obtained in this study.

  • As demands on micro-products increase significantly with raising functional integration and increasing complexity, microfoming attracts a lot of attention in the manufacture of micro-products. Since the conventional big forming systems are not adequate to achieve sufficient tolerances of micro-scale parts, it is necessary to reduce the scale of the forming equipment and devices. In addition, understandings on the size effects, which exist in the material behavior and process characterization of microforming processes, need to be expanded. In this study, a miniaturized forming system based on the ball screw and servo motor actuator was developed for the efficient micro-parts production. In addition, tensile tests and cylindrical upsetting experiments were performed to evaluate the performance of the microforming system and to investigate the flow stress and friction size effects in microforming processes.

A New Design Method for Multi-mode Input Shapers to Eliminate Residual Vibration in Dynamic Systems (동적 시스템의 잔류진동 제거를 위한 새로운 다모드 입력성형기 설계 방법)

  • The current tendency toward light weight and fast machines has lead to a need to suppress vibration of flexible dynamic systems. Input shaping is an efficient tool to eliminate transient and residual vibration caused by motion of these systems. This paper proposes a new formulation of the design method for multi-mode input shapers to eliminate residual vibration in flexible dynamic systems. The essence of the proposed method is to minimize the number of impulses to be n+1 for n-mode input shapers. This paper also suggests a solution procedure to solve the complex-valued nonlinear matrix equation for the input shapers. The proposed method is applied to two-mode input shapers. This paper discusses characteristics of several input shapers obtained under the same condition. Simulations and experiments show that the proposed method is very useful for designing multi-mode input shapers.

디스플레이용 Hybrid LED Package의 일체형 광학패턴 제조기술 개발

  • LED (Light Emitting Diode)는 친환경적이며 고수명 등의 여러 장점을 가지고 있어서 액정디스플레이의 광원으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 LED 제품을 제조하기 위해서는 칩, 패키지, 모듈, 시스템으로 구성된 4단계의 복잡한 제조공정을 거쳐야 하므로 가격이 높은 단점이 있다. 이를 개선하기 위해서 패키지, 모듈, 시스템의 3단계의 공정을 하나로 통합한 hybrid LED package(HLP) 개념이 제시되었다. HLP는 LED chip을 PCB에 직접 실장한 뒤 초정밀 가공 및 성형 기술을 활용하여 일체형 광학패턴을 인가함으로써 공정을 단순화하면서도 광효율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다구찌 실험계획법을 사용하여 디스플레이에서 중요시되는 휘도를 높일 수 있는 일체형광학패턴 형상 최적화를 실시하였으며, 최적화된 일체형 광학패턴을 제조하기 위한 초정밀 가공 및 성형기술을 개발하였다. 최적화 결과 높이 25um, 꼭지각 90도의 음각형태의 사각피라미드 패턴이 최적형상으로 결정되었으며, 패턴이 없을 때와 비교하여 휘도가 약 32.3% 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 일체형 광학패턴을 제품으로 구현하기 위하여 초정밀 절삭기술을 활용하여 마스터 금형을 제작하였다. 최종적으로 사출성형을 통해 일체형 광학패턴을 제작하게 되는데 이때 사출기 내부 공기흐름 및 진공도를 최적화함으로써 패턴 내부에 불필요한 기포가 발생하지 않도록 하는데 성공하였다. 이를 통해 생산성이 높은 사출성형으로 HLP 제품을 양산할 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였고, 추후에는 실제 제품을 제작하는 연구를 수행할 예정이다.

Smart antenna algorithm for CDMA downlink beam-forming (CDMA 하향링크의 빔 성형을 위한 스마트 안테나 알고리즘)

  • Beam-forming method based on the estimated channel information at the base station degrade the performance mismatching directional vector in case of systems which Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) center frequency of uplink and downlink are different. Also blind estimation technique which is to obtain directional vector of reverse link through received signal has disadvantage of hardware complexity increase. To solve these problems, in present paper, a smart antenna algorithm which is to improve the beam-forming complexity increase due to user number by appling the spatial fourier transform to be able to beam- forming toward a wanted direction through adjusting a obtained uplink weight function by estimating Angle-of-Arrival (AoA) to the competable form at the downlink is proposed. The proposed algorithm is integrated to the CDMA downlink transmitter and simulations are performed to confirm the performance as frame error rate at the receiver. As a result, the beam forming effect is confirmed and the performance gain with the proposed algorithm is comparable to ordinary smart antenna system.
