  • These anti-jamming GPS systems are verified using large anechoic chamber or field-test until now. When using a large anechoic chamber, Independent verification from external enviroments like noise is an advantage but high cost and availability of chamber are disadvantages. And in case of field test, verification under real propagation enviroment is an advantage but security problem of military equipments and problem of making same test condition are disadvantages. This paper presents an newly developed anti-jamming GPS test system. This test system mainly consists of small anechoic chamber, jamming divider, jamming signal generator and satellite simulator. The small anechoic chamber is installed many jamming antennas to transmit multi jamming signals and the jamming divider is newly developed to control multi jamming signals. According to self performance test and combined test with Anti-jamming GPS receiver, we verified our system's reliability.

  • This paper is the first investigation on the effect of flow control methods on the part load performance in a spark ignition engine. For comparison of the methods, two control devices, port throttling and masking, were applied to a conventional engine without any design change of the intake port. Steady flow evaluation shows that steady flow rates per unit opening area and swirl ratio are very low compared with the port throttling and saturated from mid-stage valve lift, however, swirl increases slightly as the lift is higher in case of 1/4 masking control. In the part load performance, the effect of simple port throttling on lean misfire limit expansion is limited and insufficient; on the other hand a masking improves the limit considerably without any port modification for increasing swirl. Also the results show that the intake flow control improves the combustion with following two mechanisms: stratification induced by the combination of the flow pattern and the fuel injection timing attribute to ignition ability and the intensified flow ensure fast burn. In addition fuel consumption reduces under the flow controls and the reduction rate is different according to the operation conditions and control methods. At the Stoichiometric and/or low speed and low load the throttling method is more advantageous; however vice versa at lean and high load condition. Finally, the throttling is more efficient for HC reduction than masking, on the other side the NOx emissions increase under the masking and decrease under the port throttling compared with conventional port scheme.

Effect of Intake Flow Control Method on Part Load Performance in SI Engine(2) - EGR Characteristics and Comparison of Dilution Method (스파크점화기관에서 흡기제어 방식이 부분부하 성능에 미치는 영향(2) - EGR 특성과 희석 방법의 비교)

  • This paper is the second investigation on the effects of intake flow control methods on the part load performance in a spark ignition engine. In the previous work, two control methods, port throttling and masking, were compared with respect to lean misfire limit, fuel consumption and emissions. In this work, the effects of these two methods on EGR characteristics were studied and simultaneously the differences between EGR and lean combustion as a dilution method were investigated. The results show that EGR limit is expanded up to 23% and 3 ~ 5% improvement in the fuel consumption are achieved around 8 ~ 13% rates by the flow controls comparing with 10% limit and 1.5% reduction around 3% rate of non-control case. The masking method is more effective on the limit expansion than throttling as like as lean misfire limit; however there is no substantial difference in fuel consumptions improvement regardless the control methods except high load condition. Also it is observed that there exist critical EGR rates around which the combustion performance and NOx formation change remarkably and these rates generally coincide with optimum rates for the fuel consumption. In addition, dilution with fresh air is much more advantageous than that of the exhaust gas from the view point of dilution limit and fuel consumption, while utilization of the exhaust gas is more effective on NOx reduction in spite of considerably small dilution compared with the use of fresh air. Finally, the improvement of fuel consumption by massive EGR is highly dependent on the EGR limit at which the engine runs stably, therefore the stratified combustion technique might be a best solution for this purpose.

  • The centralized conference architecture, one of the conference architectures in SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) environment, is widely used as it has the advantage of conference management and control. However it has been limited in scalability. Therefore we have proposed an efficient distributed conference architecture to improve scalability of centralized conference model. In our architecture, if the number of conference participants exceeds the predefined maximum number, a new conference server is added to the conference dynamically. In this case, the focus of existing server acts as primary focus and the focus of added server acts as secondary focus, and dynamic reallocation of participants between servers is done to equally divide the loads. This process is repeated as the number of conference participants increases. For this behavior, we have proposed procedure of adding the conference server, SIP call signal exchange, signaling procedure for RTP(Real Time Transport Protocol) sessions between conference servers, and procedure of conference event package between conference servers. The performance of our proposed model is evaluated by experiments.

  • This study was performed to enhance mechanical properties of high-early-strength concrete using regulated-set cement for early traffic opening with various mixtures. Restraint of moisture and thermal movements of concrete pavement in actual field conditions, by external or internal restraining factors, generates tensile stresses which introduce microcracks and thus reduce the mechanical properties of concrete. Fiber reinforcement of concrete is an effective approch to the control of microcrack and crack development under tensile stresses. Three different types of regulated-set cement which recently have been used in Korea and two different types of fiber were adopted. Fibers were added and their mixtures are compared with plain high-early-strength concrete mixture. From the test results, fiber reinforced concrete was increased mechanical properties of high-early-strength concrete using regulated-set cement than the plain concrete.

  • As worldwide concern stands on global warming and greenhouse gases from internal combustion engine, the interests in technologies for a highly efficient powertrain has been increased. Concurrently the investigation to improve the deteriorated NVH, a by-product of energy efficient powertrain, is conducted seriously. The NVH performance of a new type of active engine mount that offers increased advantages over a passive hydraulic mount is examined using a newly developed 6-DOF simulator. The simulator is in the shape of Hexapod Stewart Platform adopting LEMA, a new type of actuator which is patented and commercialized by ACT Inc,, the world wide leader in the design, development, and manufacture of high performance linear electro-magnetic actuators for active vibration control. The target vibration signals of an aimed vehicle at four engine mounts are measured and simulated by 6-DOF simulator at the laboratory. The resulting NVH performances of the new active mounting system at a vehicle and on a simulator are examined and compared. Even though the active mount performance of lab test demonstrates less effective than the result of a real vehicle test, vibration reduction is identified through the simulator.

  • Recent advancements in wireless networks have enabled support for mobile applications to transfer data over heterogeneous wireless paths in parallel using data striping technique [2]. Traditionally, high performance data transfer requires tuning of multiple TCP sockets, at sender's end, based on bandwidth delay product (BDP). Moreover, traditional techniques like Automatic TCP Buffer Tuning (ATBT), which balance memory and fulfill network demand, is designed for wired infrastructure assuming single flow on a single socket. Hence, in this paper we propose a buffer tuning technique at senders end designed to ensure high performance data transfer by striping data at transport layer across heterogeneous wireless paths. Our mechanism has the capability to become a resource management system for transport layer connections running on multi-homed mobile host supporting features for wireless link i.e. mobility, bandwidth fluctuations, link level losses. We show that our proposed mechanism performs better than ATBT, in efficiently utilizing memory and achieving aggregate throughput.

  • Recently Amore pacific rack-type warehouse fire broke out and argue an urgent improvement of fire protection design code including automatic sprinkler and detection design. Various type of commodities have their unique fire characteristics from fire spread rate and heat lease rate and fire hazard depends on storage height, rack arrangement, aisle width, fire load etc. With increasing ceiling height for more storage space prevent effective water spray of sprinkler head, also delays detection time causes failure of early suppression. To achieve fire protection code performance of this occupancy, Major code articles relating to a classification of commodity, sprinkler system installation, detection and fire fighting are reviewed and suggested based on fire case analysis, code review between country and field survey.

  • The Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS) is being utilized in numerous applications. The research for autonomous guided vehicles(AGVs) using precise positioning of GNSS is in progress. GNSS based AGVs is useful for setting driving path. This AGV system is more efficient than the previous one. Escipecially, the obstacle is positioned the driving path. Previcious AGVs which follow marker or wires laid out on the road have to stop the front of obstacle. But GNSS based AGVS can continuously drive using obstacle avoidance. In this paper, we developed collision avoidance system for GNSS based AGV using laser scanner and collision avoidance path setting algorithm. And we analyzed the developed system.
