A Study on the Process of Perceiving Creativity Concept by Kindergarten Teachers (유아 교사들의 창의성교육에 관한 개념을 인식하는 과정에 관한 연구)

  • This study was carried out qualitative study to figure out the process of the perception of creativity conception by kindergarten teachers in Korea. The interviewees are 4 current teachers in kindergarten in Seoul. Data was collected from semi-structured in-depth interview. Collected data were analyzed using Modified Grounded Theory Approach by Kinoshita, a kind of qualitative research method. As a result of data analysis, kindergarten teachers who experts in child education understood key concepts of creativity as unique thinking and rich expression ability. Such concept is mainly acquired at the class in which direct encounter with children is made. Besides, they formed the concept of creativity through reading books and articles, graduate studies and teaching Nuri Curriculum. In the preceding studies on the concept of creativity targeted to elementary and secondary school teachers, they had shared wide concept, but kindergarten teachers shared only some key concepts on creativity. This result would mean that the concept of creativity in the early children education is relatively coherent and such concept and teaching method are relatively well delivered to children at the education field.

Factors Associated with Sexual Experience among Adolescents (청소년의 성경험 영향요인)

  • This study was conducted in order to figure out sexual experience among in Korean adolescents and its affecting factors. For the research method, it was a secondary analysis using raw data from the 13th(2017) Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey Data and the data from 62,276 adolescents were used for the analysis in this study. For the data analysis, frequency analysis, ${\chi}^2$-test, and logistic regression analysis were conducted by using SPSS 23.0 program, As a result of the research, the factors on sexual experience in male students included grade, school record, living type, economic state, depression, perceived stress, suicidal ideation, drinking, smoking, drug, and experience of sex education(p<.001) while those in female students included grade, living type, father's education, economic state, depression, suicidal ideation, drinking, smoking, drug, and experience of sex education(p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to approach for helping from clinical settings, communities, and school healthcare through effective education and programs for preventing sexual problems, which reflect the factors associated with sex experience among adolescents in future.

Study on the Sex Recognition of Male Elderly (남성 노인의 성(性) 인식에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to research the comprehensive recognition of male elderly about the sex life in old age. We collected data through face to face interview after obtaining the consents of 13 male elderly over 65 years old who reside in Kimhae Gyeongnam and Busan. The result of study showed that the sexual recognition of male elderly participants include the core concept of , , < the sex with restriction> and . In other words, the male elderly recognized the sexual life of old age as a natural and instinctive thing, the restrictions still exist including the negative recognition of family and surrounding people and diseases but it is found that the improvement of social recognition about sexual desire, the sex education and aggressive support for the various solutions are required. As the sexual awareness of the elderly is the comprehensive and broad study, the amalgamative and integrated study should be continued in the various fields. Through this, we tried to suggest the basic documents to the effective and differentiated individual sex consultation based on the empirical characteristics and desire of male elderly, and customized sex education and the development of local society program.

Relationships Among Sexual Attitudes, Sexual Knowledge and Social Support of Middle School Students (일 지역 중학생의 성태도와 성지식, 사회적지지 간 상관관계)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship among sexual attitudes, sexual knowledge and social support of middle school students. A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted. The subjects were 139 students at the freshman stage from a middle school. Data were collected from September 6th to December 10th, 2010 by using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 19.0 program. The subjects showed less opened sexual attitudes and lower level of sexual knowledge than high school students. Sexual attitudes and knowledge showed significant differences according to gender. And there were significant correlations between sexual attitudes and family support, sexual knowledge and social support respectively. These results suggest that the differentiated sexual education program have to be developed by considering student's gender. Also, family and school have important duties to increase sexual attitudes and knowledge of the middle school students.

Status of Use and Evaluation of Materials of Sexual Education for Child and Adolescent in Schools, Korea (아동 및 청소년 성교육 자료의 활용 실태와 평가)

  • We would like to suggest the guideline of use of materials of sexual education for adolescent in school by examining the status of use of materials and by evaluating the video materials frequently used. Survey was done by enquetes on status of use of materials of sexual education from school nurses in 190 primary, 44 middle and 50 high schools in Seoul, Kyonggi-do and Kangwon-do from August 1999 to February 2000. The frequently used 84 videotapes were evaluated on their contents. As for the status of use, 99.3% of subjected schools possessed the materials for sexual education. Decision of purchase was determined according to the review of contents (92.6%). Information about materials was received by the advertisement in newspapers or broadcasting (46.1%) or recommendation of peer teacher (32.4%). Videotape was most frequently used (64.1%) rather than books or CD. Teachers concerns on the materials were the educational content according to developmental stage of students (41.9%), content provoking interest (33.5%) and concrete guide for teacher (10.6%). As for the evaluation of the contents of videotapes, a subject of education was not described out of 46.6%. Videotape producer were mostly the Government-affiliated institutes or non-profit organizations (86.8%). The year of production was indicated from 41.7%. Running time range of 21-30 minutes was highest (55.9%). The price was marked in only one videotape. Subjects of contents were general sexual education (34.5%), sexual violence or sexual harassment (21.4%), pregnancy and contraception (14.2%) and AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases (8.3%) and dating and adolescent change (4. 8%), and etc (11.9 %). According to above results, we suggested that materials for sexual education should be completed with a description on the subjected group, summary of content, information on the tape producer, year of production, running time and sale price.

A Study on Sexual Knowledge, Sexual Attitude and Reproductive Health Promoting Behaviors in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 성지식, 성태도, 생식건강증진행위에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 성지식, 성태도, 생식건강증진행위를 확인하고 이들의 상관관계 확인을 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 간호대학생 300명을 대상으로 설문하고 229부로 분석하였다. 연구도구는 Jeon(2004)의 성지식, Ho(2009)의 성태도, Jo(2014)의 생식건강증진행위 측정도구를 사용하였다. 자료분석은 일반적 특성은 실수와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, 성지식, 성태도, 생식건강증진행위는 평균과 표준편차를 이용하였다. 일반적 특성에 따른 성지식, 성태도, 건강증진행위 차이는 independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, 사후검정으로 Scheffe's test를 이용하였다. 상관관계는 Pearson's correlation coefficients로 분석하였다. 여학생의 성지식이 높았으며, 생식건강증진행위 교육은 저학년이 적절한 시기임을 알 수 있다. 또한, 성지식이 높을수록 생식건강증진행위가 높아 생식건강증진행위 향상을 위한 성교육의 필요성이 여전히 요구됨을 시사한다. 이에, 본 연구는 간호대학생의 생식건강을 위한 상담과 교육에 활용할 생식건강증진행위의 교육자료 개발에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The Longitudinal Effect of the Creative-Fostering Program for Pre-early childhood Teacher on their Problem Solving Ability and Self-Efficacy (예비유아교사를 위한 창의성교육 프로그램이 문제해결능력 및 자기효능감에 미치는 영향에 대한 단기종단연구)

  • The aim of this study was to examine the short-term longitudinal effect of creativity-fostering programs for pre-early childhood teachers on their problem solving ability and self-efficacy. The participants of this study were 67 pre-early childhood teachers (36 from the experimental group and 31 from the control group) in Seoul, Kyunggi-do, and Chungcheong-do, Korea. Pre-early childhood teachers' problem solving ability and self-efficacy was measured three times. Data were analyzed with a $2{\times}3$ ($group{\times}test$) two-way analysis of variance for repeated measures. The change in problem solving and self-efficacy appeared to be dependent on the group and test. Further statistical analysis of the data indicated that the participation of creativity-fostering programs for pre-early childhood teachers was longitudinally effective on their problem solving ability and self-efficacy.

Sexual Behavior of Adolescents in Multicultural Families: An Analysis Using Data from the 15th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey 2019 (다문화가정 청소년의 성행태 실태 분석: 제15차(2019년) 청소년건강행태온라인조사 자료 이용)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore sexual behaviors among adolescents in multicultural families in Korea. The data were obtained from the 15th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey 2019. Complex-sample descriptive statistics and the chi-square test were used for data analysis in SPSS 25. Among adolescents in multicultural families, 8.2% reported having sexual experience. Condoms were the most commonly used contraceptive method, and most adolescents received sex education at school. Their likelihood of sexual experience differed according to grade, academic achievement, economic status, residential area, perceived stress, and drinking and smoking experience (p<.001). The results of this study suggest that sex education should be conducted with appropriate consideration of the important factors associated with adolescents in multicultural families.

A Study on the Sexual Consciousness and Values of College Students Majoring in Public Health-Related Subjects (보건관련학과 대학생들의 성의식 및 성가치관에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to inquire into the sexual consciousness and values of students majoring in public health-related subjects, as well as into whether there are differences between male students and female students. This study was conducted on randomly-selected students majoring in public health-related subjects at junior colleges in South Chungcheong Province. The questionnaire, used in this study, was remade on the basis of philological reviews and previous studies, and a total of 208 questionnaires were re-collected. In relation to the question about chance of sex education, 56.7% of respondents answered, '4 or more chances'. In relation to the question about the source of sex information, 37.5% of respondents referred to 'their friends.' In the case of premarital sex, 51.4% answered, 'it amounts to nothing in pairs of lovers.' In conclusion, the university authorities need to aggressively support students in order that desirable sex educations can be given to students and they can have right sexual consciousness and have the mature and responsible attitude to sex.

Factors that Influencing Sexual Behavior in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 성행동에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • In modern society, the college students are experiencing more sexual behaviors, threatening their sexual health. The purpose of this study was to determine nursing college student's experiences with sexual behaviors and reveal its associated factors. Methods: As a descriptive correlation study, data was collected from 218 students in a nursing college. Data was analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Sexual behaviors, sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, sexual communication with parents and friends averaged 1.53 (range of score 0-3), .84 (0-1), 3.86 (1-5), 2.75 and 2.97 (1-5), respectively. Sexual behaviors had a positive correlation with sexual attitude. Sexual communication with parents had a positive correlation with sexual communication with friends and negative correlation with sexual attitude. Sexual knowledge, source of sex related information, past date experience, and sex communication with family were affecting factors on sexual behaviors. Conclusion: Sexual problems may have a negative impact on various aspects of life. Nurses should be aware of the wider considerations that need to be made in relation to the quality of life when caring clients with sexual problems. Therefore, professionals and sex educators must continue to be diligent and creative in their efforts to educate nursing students.
