문제해결관점에서 신제품 개발 프로젝트 성과 모형 - R&D 프로젝트 팀을 중심으로-

  • 본 연구는 창의적 문제해결과정에 대한 개념을 신제품 개발 프로젝트에 적용하여 문제해결 관점에서의 신제품개발 성과 모델을 제시하고 있다. 연구개발 프로젝트 팀과 관련한 연구논문들이 그 동안 많이 있었으며, 각각의 이론들은 상호 이질적이고 다른 관점을 취해 연구자와 실무자들에게 다소의 혼란을 야기하여 왔다. 대표적으로 살펴보면 합리적 계획, 의사소통 망, 훈련된 문제해결의 세 개의 차원으로 나누어진다. 이러한 이유로 국내외 학자들은 통합모델을 제시하려고 노력하여 왔다. 그러나 그러한 접근은 신제품 개발의 본질적 성격을 반영하는 새로운 깊이 있는 차원으로서의 모델 통합이 아니라 단순히 영향 요인들의 나열 또는 종합하는 특징을 지니고 있다. 본 연구는 신제품 개발 R&D 팀이 본질적으로 문제해결 집단이라는 전제하에 창의적 문제해결을 위한 구성원들의 문제해결 몰입과 해결안의 질적 수준의 향상을 높이기 위하여 R&D 팀의 인지적 다양성과 R&D팀의 위상과 관련하여 R&D 환경 성숙도라는 새로운 변수를 추가하였다. 여기서 제시하는 창의적 문제해결과정으로서의 R&D팀 성과와 관련된 연구모델은 본질적인 것을 다루면서 단순화 된 모델로서 그 동안 여러 관점에서 다루어져 온 개념들을 통합할 뿐만 아니라, 새로운 차원에서 R&D 성과를 높이는데 개념으로 많은 도움을 줄 것이다.

A Study on the Impact of the Organization Traits and New product Creativity on Development Performance (신제품개발 조직특성이 신제품 창조성과 개발성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • A Major aim of this study is to test the hypothesis that there is an association between empowerment, organizational memory, and new product creativity. In addition to exploring these relationships, this study examines the effect of new product creativity on new product performance, and identify the moderating effects of market uncertainty in the relationships between new product creativity and performance. For this purposes, we developed a research model based on the literature reviews of empowerment, organizational memory, market uncertainty, and new product creativity. A total of 121 usable survey responses has been used in the empirical research for foods manufacturing industry. The findings indicate that (1) Empowerment has a positive effect on new product creativity, (2) Organizational memory has a positive effect on new product creativity, (3) New product novelty has a positive effect on new product performance, and (4) Only competition uncertainty has a moderating effects between the new product meaningfulness and performance. The findings have implications for managers wishing to acquire the new product creativity and to better the new product development performance.

  • In most leading companies, new product development is one of the most important corporate activities which affects the very existence of them. Therefore, CFT(cross-functional team) is frequently used to utilize knowledge and experiences of its members from various teams. To ensure the successful operation of CFT, various structural assistances, such as committee and Task Force Team, are made which will coordinate smooth interactions among members. Many researches show that the increase of interaction among team members affects the performance. This research is exploratory research intend to show the effects of relational characteristics such as group efficacy and participation on the perceived performance of new product development. This research examines the performance mechanism that lies in between CFT and its members by expanding the understandings on the relationship between interaction and performance in new product development CFT. Results show that the level of interaction affect group efficacy. and group efficacy affect participation. Finally, participation affect perceived performance. However. it shows that the level of interaction and group efficacy do not have direct effect on perceived performance.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 측량성과의 체계적 품질관리, 측량성과 관리업무의 효율성 향상 및 비용절감을 위하여 측량성과의 전자납품 및 품질검사의 자동화 방안을 연구하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 측량성과의 품질관리 현황 및 작업규정을 분석하고, 측량성과의 전자납품 및 품질검사 자동화를 위한 기본방안을 제시하였다. 측량 성과품의 유형을 품질검사의 자동화 측면에 구분을 해보면, 첫째, 품질검사의 자동화가 불가능한 유형, 둘째, 포맷분석과 소프트웨어 개발을 통하여 자동화된 품질 검사가 가능한 유형, 셋째, 제도적인 보완을 통하여 자동화가 가능한 성과품 유형 등 세 가지 종류로 분류가 가능하다. 이러한 측량성과품의 품질검사업무의 자동화는 크게 단기간에 미시적으로 해야 할 사안들과 중 장기에 걸쳐 거시적으로 추진해야할 사안 등 두 가지 측면의 시각으로 접근해야 하며, 업무적인 측면, 제도적인 측면 및 정보기술적인 측면에서 종합적으로 검토되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

Existing Knowledge in the Organization and the New Product Performance (조직 내 기존지식과 신제품 성과에 관한 연구)

  • The focus of this study is to analyze the link between existing knowledge in the organization and NPD performance. After a comprehensive literature review, we identified factors influential in the management of existing knowledge, such as efficiency of information acquisition, shared interpretation, structure of organization. Through an empirical research, we found that existing knowledge was positively associated with the efficiency of information acquisition and shared interpretation. Additionally, a strong relationship was found between information acquisition efficiency and NPD. Shared information, however, was not found to be associated with NPD. This result, make us recognize the necessity to better understand some subprocesses through which existing knowledge affects new product performance.

Empirical Study on the Determinants of Improving Open Innovation Performance : Based on New Product Development Collaboration with Suppliers (개방형 혁신 성과향상의 선행요인에 관한 실증적 연구 : 공급사와의 신제품개발협력을 중심으로)

  • In this study, we focus on identifying the determinants of improving technology collaboration performance between buyer and supplier and the impact of the determinants on new product development performance. We adopted trust, control and information sharing as the determinants of technology collaboration and the frequency of new product introduction and ratio of new product on revenue as dependent variables. We conducted hierarchical regression and mediation analysis using the data collected from 600 Korean manufacturing firms by Korean Productivity Association and Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2012. The empirical findings indicate that trust, control and information sharing are positively associated with technology collaboration performance and the degree of technology collaboration is also positively associated with both new product development performance. In addition, new product development performance is not only affected by technology collaboration but also mediated by trust. This result implies that developing social capital, trust with partner play a important role in leading to better performance by open innovation.

  • 본 연구는 신제품 개발 과정을 시장지식과 기술지식을 흡수, 활용하는 일종의 학습(learning)과정으로 인식하고 신제품 개발 팀을 하나의 학습 조직(learning organization)으로 파악하여 개발 팀의 학습 능력과 학습 능력을 지원할 수 있는 팀의 구조/분위기적인 특성이 신제품 경쟁우위의 달성에 중요한 요인임을 제시하고자 하였다. 신제품의 시장 성과는 신제품 경쟁우위(품질 우수성, 시간 효율성)의 확보에서 비롯되며 이러한 경쟁우위에 영향을 미치는 조직 학습의 요인은 마케팅 부서와 R&D부서의 정보 공유 행동과 조직기억의 활용도에 영향을 받는다. 또한 신제품 개발팀의 자율적인 분위기 및 신뢰의 분위기는 조직학습을 원할하게 수행할 수 있는 요인이 될 뿐만 아니라 신제품 개발과정의 시간 효율성을 달성함에 있어 중요한 요인이 된다.

Analysis of Substitutability of 2D Electronic Drawing Using the BIM Model -Focusing on the Electronic Delivery System in Road Field- (BIM 모델을 활용한 2D 전자도면 대체 가능성 분석 -도로분야 전자납품체계를 대상으로-)

  • With the recent increase in BIM orders in civil engineering, project owners are supplied with BIM-based products. Due to the lack of related guidelines, however, and the vague regulations on the creation and level of drawings as well as on the products list, many owners receive BIM-based products along with the existing 2D products. This can lead to task overlapping by designers or contractors and can cause the owners to have more data to maintain. If the existing 2D-based electronic supply system is changed to a BIM ordering system to reduce such a burden, it is necessary to examine the 2D products that can be extracted from or substituted for the BIM model so as to minimize the overlapping products. Therefore, in this study, BIM modeling of road construction projects whose enforcement plan by the Ministry of Land and Transportation has been completed was conducted, and based on the study results, the possibility of extracting 2D drawings from a total of 3,767 drawing items was determined. The results showed that 2,549 drawing items (67%) could be extracted as 2D drawings from the BIM model, and in particular, drawing items related to general connection work, earthwork, and amenities work could be most effectively substituted. The results of this study can be used as the base data for reducing the number of 2D drawings or substituting them in developing a BIM-based product supply system in the future.

  • 본 연구는 기술사업화 역량과 외부기술획득활동이 신제품개발성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구이다. 최근의 기술창업기업은 기존 조직 내부의 기술들 이외에 외부의 다양한 기술들을 들여와 기존 기술과 융 복합하여 기술 사업화를 도모하여 치열한 글로벌 경제 환경 속에서 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해 노력하고 있다. 정책적으로도 글로벌 경쟁력과 첨단기술을 갖춘 중소 벤처기업 육성 안이 대거 포함되어 기술기반의 기술창업기업을 창출하고 육성하여 기술사업화를 촉진하고 있다. 이와 더불어 기술사업화의 핵심적 요소로 간주되고 있는 기술사업화역량 및 외부기술획득활동은 여러 측면에서 연구되고 있다. 따라서 현 시점에서 기술기반의 기술창업기업의 창출과 지속적인 성장을 위해 기술사업화 역량과 외부기술획득활동이 신제품개발 성과에 미치는 영향을 검증함으로써 궁극적으로 기술창업기업의 신제품개발성과 향상을 위하여 어떤 노력을 해야 하는가를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 기술창업기업을 대상으로 자료를 수집, 실증분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과는 향후 기술기반의 기술창업 기업의 기술사업화 역량과 외부기술획득활동이 신제품개발성과 향상을 위한 시사점을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 성공적인 기술사업화에 미치는 효과에 대한 연구 확산에도 기여할 수 있을 것이라고 판단된다.

The Effect of New Product Development Activity on New Product Development Performance (신제품 개발활동이 신제품 개발 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effect of NPD(New Product Development) strategy and standardized NPD activity on NPD performance in KODAK companies. As a result of this study, companies with a specific NPD strategy that can lead and integrate NPD programs were 48.5% and companies without NPD strategy were 51.5% among KOSDAQ companies, which showed that companies without NPD programs were relatively higher than companies with NPD programs. According to result of NPD performance, success rate of new product showed 51.2% and success rate of new product revenue showed 44.87%, but respondents who evaluated NPD performance as "very successful" and "successful" were 53% based on the study of 77 various industries by Kuczmarski & Associates in America in 1993, and the companies in this study showed relatively below-average marks to the result of the study examined by USA PDMA in 1995 as compared to 59% of NPD success rate according to the 2nd study of best practice in 1995 by USA PDMA(Product Development & Management Association). As a result of testing the difference between NPD performances depending on whether company has NPD strategy or not, it showed a significant difference in success rate of NPD depending on NPD strategy and had a higher success rate of NPD as company has NPD strategy. Although NPD activity does not provide with documented process, companies which follow clearly recognized procedure until individual business for product development is completed were 39.6%, indicating that KOSDAQ companies still have fewer standardized NPD procedure than USA companies with 76% as compared to the result of 1990 PDMA in America. As a result of ANOVA test, NPD success rate showed the difference depending on the presence of officially documented process. As a result of Scheffe and Bonferroni test as post hoc test, companies with officially documented process, carrying out a series of business in a given section showed a higher NPD success rate by 18.385 at the 5% significance level than companies with individual business procedure without officially documented process. The difference of this research from the previous studies is that the findings of PDMA in America throughout the United States were applied to the domestic KOSDAQ companies. In addition, the existing studies related to NPD in Korea were conducted for some limited industries in the past, but this study was applied to various industries of KOSDAQ companies. The implications of this study suggest that it is necessary for KOSDAQ Industry Association or other related governmental departments to educate and guide the standardized process about NPD for increasing survival rate and reinforcing competitiveness of the companies.
