Organizational Culture Difference of Social Enterprises and Commercial Enterprises, and Impact Relations on Social and Economic Outcomes (사회적기업과 영리기업간 조직문화차이와 조직성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of study was to determine the differences in organizational culture between social enterprises and commercial enterprises and assess the impact on organizational performance in Korea. Main results are as follows. First, Social enterprises employ a lot of low-imcome women and the elderly worker. Second, rational culture is high in profit businesses, but cultural group is high in social enterprises. In commercial enterprise, productivity and efficiency, planning and goal setting, assessing goals and looking for the evaluation of the performance are important. and in social enterprise, affinity and participation, employees individual development and group morale and cohesion, emphasis on mutual cooperation and trust are important. In addition, both social performance and economic performance, social enterprises are higher than in commercial enterprises. Social enterprises are operating transparently based on workers participation and understanding is expected that economic performance is also highly recognized. Third, social performance is higher development and group culture are higher in commercial enterprises, and development, group and hierarchy culture are higher in social enterprises. Economic performance is higher reasonal culture is lower in commercial enterprises, and group culture is higher in social enterprises. Therefore, the social enterprise workers are recognizing social and economic performance are higher than commercial enterprise workers. In short, social enterprises is making discriminatory organizational culture, and this is contributing to achieving organizational performance.

The Effects of Social Capital on Social Enterprise Performance (사회적 자본이 사회적 기업의 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the elements of virtuous cycle to lay a foundation for the coevolution of corporations(organizations) and communities through corporate growth and distribution based on the social capital of social enterprises. The study aimed to categorize social capital into structural, cognitive, and relational capital and examine their effects on the economic and social performance of social enterprises. The subject companies include 250 of social enterprises registered at and certified by the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency through random sampling. The study set two hypotheses and 6 particular hypotheses and performed correlation and regression analysis to empirically analyze the effects of social capital on social enterprise performance. The findings were summarized as follows: First, the study looked into the effects of social capital on economic performance and found that relational capital was proper for it. Second, the study also looked into the effects of social capital on social performance and found that relational capital was proper for it.

  • 경영환경이 개별기업간의 경쟁에서 기업집단 군의 경쟁으로 변화하여 감으로써 기업간 협력의 중요성이 점차 커지고 있다. 많은 선행 연구들이 기업간 협력의 중요성을 강조하고 있으나, 기업의 오랜 역사적 경험 속에서 생겨나는 정보기술 활용 능력과 사회자본이 기업간 협력에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 명확하게 설명하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기업간 협력의 촉진요인과 성과와의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 기업간 협력의 촉진 요인으로 제시된 정보기술의 활용능력과 함께 사회 자본을 추가로 제안하고, 이들이 기업간 협력을 강화해서 기업의 성과에 공헌한다는 것을 실증하여 보고자 하였다. 실증분석결과 기업의 정보기술 활용능력은 정보공유활동과 사회자본에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있으며, 사회자본이 기업간 협업활동에 영향을 미쳐 기업성과를 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 자원기반관점에서 기업간 협력을 촉진하는 정보기술 활용능력과 사회자본이 기업간 관계 유지와 기업의 성과에 크게 공헌하고 있으며, 기업의 중요한 무형의 자산으로써 경쟁력의 원천이 되고 있음을 의미 한다고 할 수 있다.

The Effects Long-Term Orientation and CSR Activities on Business Performance in Social Enterprise (장기지향성이 CSR활동과 사회적 기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증연구)

  • The purpose of this study is examine the factors influencing performance of long-term orientation and Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) activities. This model tests various theoretical research hypotheses relating to social enterprise, CSR activities and long-term orientation. The proposed model is analyzed to target 115 social entrepreneurs with Smart Partial Least Square(PLS) 2.0. The result of hypothesis testing are as follows. First, long-term orientation positively influence community responsibility, environmental responsibility, and product(service) responsibility. Second, community responsibility positively influence financial and non-financial performance. Third, environmental responsibility positively influence non-financial performance, but does not significantly influence financial performance. Finally, product(service) responsibility does not significantly influence financial and non-financial performance. The results of this study will provide various implications to improve performance, long-term orientation, and CSR activities in social enterprise.

  • 본 연구에서는 사회적기업육성법에 의해 인증 받은 한국의 사회적 기업을 대상으로 사회적 기업 운영자 및 주요 경영진의 마케팅 지향성((1) 고객지향성, (2) 경쟁자 지향성 (3) 부서간 유효성)이 기업의 경영성과((1) 재무성과 (2) 사업성과 (3) 조직효과성 )에 미치는 영향을 고찰하고자 한다. 사회적 기업은 수익성과 공공성을 동시에 추구하는 목적을 가지고 있기 때문에 일반적 의미의 기업이라 보기 어렵다. 무엇보다도 이윤의 극대화가 제한되기 때문이다. 또한 현재 사회적 기업에 대한 접근이 복지적 측면에서 많이 이루어지고 있는 것도 사실이다. 그러나 현대적 의미의 사회적 기업은 일정부분 일반기업과 경쟁해야 하기 때문에 스스로의 경쟁력을 갖추어야만 지속성을 유지할 수 있으며 사회적 비용을 절감할 수 있다. 사회적 기업이 일정한 수익성을 지속적으로 추구하지 못하는 경우 정부의 재정 부담이 증가하여 사업의 지속성이 어려움에 빠지게 될 수도 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사회적 기업의 마케팅 지향성에 따른 경영성과를 실증 분석해 봄으로써 사회적 기업이 가져야할 무형자산인 마케팅지향적 사고 및 행위에 대한 시사점을 도출해 보고자 한다.

The Mediating Effect of Social Contribution Activities on the Relationship between Social Entrepreneurship and Organizational Performance (사회적기업가정신과 조직성과 간의 관계에서 사회공헌활동의 매개효과 검증)

  • Social entrepreneurship plays a key role in organizational performance, and social contribution activities are related to organizational members' perception of social enterprise value and performance sharing. The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of social contribution activities in the relationship between social entrepreneurship and organizational performance. For the study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on members of social enterprises, and data of 186 valid copies were used for statistical analysis. Statistical analysis used reliability of measurement variables, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and mediating effect analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, there was a significant correlation between social entrepreneurship, social contribution activities, and organizational performance. Second, social entrepreneurship has a significant correlation with organizational performance. Social purpose and initiative, sub-factors of social entrepreneurship, had a significant influence on organizational commitment. Third, social contribution activities showed a significant relationship with organizational performance. Fourth, in the relationship between social entrepreneurship and organizational performance, social contribution activities showed a partial mediating effect. This suggests that social contribution activities play an important role in improving the performance of social enterprises.

A Longitudinal Study of Social Enterprises' Performances (사회적기업 성과의 종단적 유형화)

  • In this study, various performance types, the combinations of the performance types for growth were investigated to suggest viable policy recommendations for the sustainable growth of social enterprises. The data of the economic and social performance of social enterprises from 2011 to 2016 were obtained and the changes were investigated. Among total of 235 social enterprises that participated in Cho et al, 2011, the research subjects were 164 social enterprises, which were still being operated in March, 2018. The performance of 6 years, since 2011, was surveyed, and total of 104(recovery factor: 69.8%) of social enterprises were analyzed using the growth mixture model, cross tabulation. First of the results, the latent trajectory classes of sales, which are of economic performance, were investigated through the analysis of growth mixture model. The optimal model including three latent classes was adopted. The three latent classes were named as 'mature sales type', 'growing sales type', and 'average sales type'. Second, the latent trajectory classes of employment rate, which are of social performance, were investigated. The optimal model including three latent classes was adopted. The three latent classes were named as 'average employment type', 'declining employment type', and 'increasing employment type'. Third, cluster in $3{\times}3$ tabulation, which is a distribution of the latent trajectory classes of social performance based on the latent trajectory classes of economic performance of social enterprises, was looked into.

The Impact of on Organizational Performance of Self-Leadership by Worker in Social Enterprise and Profit Enterprise (사회적기업과 영리기업에서 근로자 셀프리더십이 조직성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the impact of self-leadership by worker in social enterprises and profit enterprise. For this purpose, 36 social enterprises and commercial enterprises in Chungcheongnam-do and 303 workers were surveyed. Main results are as follows. First, the workers in social enterprises and profit enterprises have many different characteristics. The workers who work in social enterprise is more women, less educated and were the elderly than profit enterprise. This is the reason that social enterprises are employing women, elderly and vulnerable groups by the government's social work support policy. Second, self leadership and all organizational Performance areas in social enterprises is higher than that of profit companies. Third, self-leadership in social enterprise and profit enterprise has positive effect on organizational performance. Therefore, in order to improve the organizational performance of social enterprises must share organizational vision and goals for the workers. It will increase the organizational competitiveness. The Effects of Entrepreneurship on Social Enterprise Performance (기업가정신이 사회적 기업의 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined what entrepreneurial elements of social enterprises contribute to the virtuous cycle to lay a foundation of the coevolution with communities through growth and wealth distribution. To this end, the study was started by adding the pursuit of social goals to the components of entrepreneurship, namely an innovative mind, progressive spirit, and risk sensitivity, and the effects of each of these factors on their economic performance and the social performance were examined. Within this framework, the relationships between social enterprises' performance in economic and social dimensions as dependent variables, and the entrepreneurial elements as independent variables were examined by correlation tests and regression analysis for two hypotheses and their 8 subsequent hypotheses. The results showed that the entrepreneurs' progressive spirit had a statistically meaning effect on the economic performance, and an innovative mind and risk sensitivity are influential variables for social performance.

The Impact of Intra-Team and Inter-Team Social Ties on Team Innovativeness and Performance: On the Basis of IT Support (팀 혁신성과 성과에 대한 팀 내, 팀 간 사회적 연결의 영향: IT 지원에 기반하여)

  • Social ties play an important role in today's competitive world. The primary objective of this study is to explore the impact of intra- and inter-social ties on team innovativeness and performance. Through an empirical model of 97 teams in six companies, this study attempts to (i) examine how intra- and inter-social ties affect team innovativeness and team performance; and (ii) investigate how the support for information technology facilitates social ties. Our team-based analysis reveals that strong intra-bonds among members improve team innovativeness and enhance team performance. Inter-linkages among teams also lead to team performance through innovativeness, but they are not directly associated with performance. IT support also considerably enhances social ties.
